Linscott, Superintendent Bluehill, Brooklin, Sedgwick Union Bluehill, Maine Dear Mr. Linscott: Recently we read of your new book, THE HISTORY 0F SECONDARY EDUCATION IN WASHINGTON AND HANCOCK COUNTIES, and we want to add our congratulations to the many which you are justly receiving. Such a book is an important contribution to the history of our state. We will, of course, wish to purchase a copy for the general lending sectidn of the library, although we regret that as yet we are unaware of the publisher's name. In addition to this copy, we feel that one should find its way to the Maine Author Collection. Perhaps you will wish to join the many other Maine writers, who inscribe and present copies of their works to this collection. We have several hundred volumes now, for exhibit purposes only, and our authors have been extremely kind and interested in such a collection. We maintain a biographical file, also, in which we have all available material on our authors, a great deal of which they contribute. Of course by now we have a copy in the general lending section of the library, where it is proving a valuable addition. We have a copy which we would like very much to send to you for an inscription, before placing it in the Maine Author Collection. We assume that you were born in Maine, but since we have no data of a biographical nature, would you be so kind as to send us some information of this sort, at your convenience?
