To describe in a brief way Small experiences and quotes from different people have always been a way for me to soften the edges of life. From the simple to humorous to serious, to the spiritual, or from hardships, you can always find someone to connect with. This is a collection of vignettes I have collected. You can find quotes on the internet. Just search the topic you want with the word quotes. Lds.org is my favorite. Choose search. This is the part I like the best. In search you can choose advanced search. In advanced search you can choose author name. Type in a name and select search. This is a great way to get quotes for lessons, activities or everyday life. I hope you enjoy them. I like the idea of a sketch. Because of the simplistic form you can put any face to it. You can also use them to display for any experience or event. But the main reason I love these sketches is because my Grandmother drew them. Irene Berrett Carter was my grandmother. Her first husband died in his early thirties from heart failure and left a family of four children for my grandmother to raise. She did by working 2-3 jobs and raising chickens. When her children were raised she met a man and remarried. After seven short years of marriage, her second husband died. She was alone again. It was then she decided to start developing a talent. She was in her sixties. She has always loved art so Grandma decided to start sketching. She sketched over 300 pictures. My grandma died this year (2007). She would have turned 96 in April. I am glad in her later years she decided to develop her talent so I can enjoy her work.
