1 March Week 4 God Speaks Through Prophets For the 4 th week in March the outline is pretty vague and since General Conference is the Sunday following this Primary we are finishing up our month of speaking about Prophets by helping the children to learn The most important prophet, so far as you and I are concerned, is the one living in our day and age to whom the Lord is currently revealing His will for us. (Ezra Taft Benson, The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, p 335) I have prepared a short excerpt from the talks of each of our 15 living apostles from October 2009 General Conference. I will put them on the back of their pictures (available at the Distribution Center, or online at or at ) I will have 15 children at the front holding the picture and reading (or telling) what each of our living apostles taught us last conference. I will then encourage them to listen and learn next week as we have the chance to listen to living apostles again speak to us, teaching us what the Lord wants us to know right now. Depending on the age and maturity of the children the messages can be paraphrased into very simple terms. For our Junior Sharing Time I will probably have the children just hold the picture, say the name of the Apostle and then I ll say something like President Monson taught us that when we are angry, it doesn t solve anything. I am also going to hand out the wonderful conference packets from Sugardoodle s web site. Thanks so much for all the wonderful information. We ve all felt anger. It can come when things don t turn out the way we want. Perhaps it comes when we have to wait for something longer than we expected. There seem to be countless possible reasons for anger. But remember, Anger doesn t solve anything. It builds nothing, but it can destroy everything. (President Thomas S. Monson)

Packer) There is something about reviewing the lessons of the past to prepare us to face the challenges of the future. What a glorious legacy of faith, courage, and ingenuity those noble early Mormon pioneers have left for us to build upon. My admiration for them deepens the longer I live. (Elder L. Tom Perry)

3 The timeless offer of personal revelation is extended to all of His children. It almost sounds too good to be true. But it is true! I have received and responded to that heavenly help. And I have learned that I always need to be ready to receive it. (Elder Russell M. 4 If you or someone you love is seeking purpose in life, I offer, as a friend and as an Apostle, my witness. He lives! Some may ask, how can I know this for myself? We know He lives because we believe the testimonies of His ancient and living prophets, and we have felt God s Spirit confirm that the testimonies of these prophets are true. (Elder Robert D. Hales) I testify that one cannot come to full faith in this latter-day work and thereby find the fullest measure of peace and comfort in these, our times until he or she embraces the divinity of the Book of Mormon and the Lord Jesus Christ, of whom it testifies.
