3 Official Minutes of the March 12th, 2019 Dutchess County Dental Society Executive Board Meeting The Executive Board of the Dutchess County Dental Society met on March 12th, J. Dominick s Restaurant, Route 44, Poughkeepsie, New York. Board members present were: Drs. Angiolillo, Riggins, Paunovic, Rosenbloom, Prunty, Smith, Schwartz, Weiner, Dewhirst and Payami Call to order at time: 6:54pm. President s Report: Dr. Prunty filling in for Dr. Blondin, welcomed the board members. Dr. Blondin had no report. Motion: Motion passed unanimously to accept the January 2019 Executive Board minutes. Corresponding Secretary s Report: Dr. Schwartz reported. One letter sent to a new member. No new correspondence from ninth District. Dr. Schwartz reported that he has been corresponding with Lance Plunkett from NYSDA. Treasurer Report: Dr. Richard Rosenbloom reported. Treasury is doing well. Dr. Rosenbloom discussed the budget, financial planning, reporting and performance. Dr. Rosenbloom also reported website related fees and issued 1099 forms. Membership Committee: Dr. Smith reported on new prospective members: Dr. Richard Salas and Dr. In Hee Joshua Song. No votes on new members. Bulletin Committee: Dr. Angiolillo reported. Deadline for the Bulletin is April 19th. RSVPs will go out 2 weeks before the meeting. Dr. Angiolillo asked members for any new updates or input. All-Day Committee: Dr. Smith reported. All day seminar will be held on April 1st, 2020 at The Grand View in Poughkeepsie. Dr. Robert Lowe will be the speaker for next year. Steward s Report: Dr. Dewhirst reported. Discussed venues and meals. The meeting at Hudson s Ribs and Fish in February was a success. The general meeting on May 14 will be at The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. June 18th meeting will be at The Links at Union Vale. Program Committee: Dr. Prunty reported. Lecture in March will be provided by Dr. Minerva Patel. Lecture in May will be provided by Dr. Rosenbach on Peri-Implantitis: Diagnosis and Therapeutic Recommendations. Speaker for the June meeting is under consideration. A/V Committee: Dr. Jo no report. Member Benefits Committee: Dr. Weiner reported. Dr. Weiner is updating the member benefit web page on the DCDS website. Voting will take place with General Membership at May Meeting. Helping Hand Partnership Committee: Dr. Smith provided a closed report on Dr. Costello. Community Outreach and Support Committee: No report. Dutchess County Dental Society Players: Dr. Smith reported. The program started in September and there has been several performances involving hundreds of students. DCDS Hall of Fame Committee: Dr. Schwartz reported. Dr. Bloom was nominated for the Hall of Fame award by HOF Committee. The nominee has to complete a biography. Board discussed the HOF award and provided its input regarding the nomination of the recipient. Special recognition for Alice Flanagan (Ninth Former Executive Director) was also discussed. Dr. Schwartz proposed to write a letter of appreciation to Dr. Flanagan. Dr. Schwartz will choose the venue to honor Dr. Flanagan and will bear the expense. Social Events: Dr. Smith is exploring the venues. Board discussed venues such has Mohonk Mountain House, Buttermilk Falls, Henry s at the Farm, Baja 328 South West Grill and Orvis Sandanona. Next Board Meeting: Next executive board meetings on April 2nd at West Main Kitchen & Bar.

4 NINTH DISTRICT AND NYSDA REPORTS Ninth District Executive Committee: No report Ninth District Board of Governors: Drs. Erin Prunty and Michael Smith reported. The board of governor discussed local dental societies and their declining membership and attendance. Ninth District ABF Committee: Dr. Michael Smith reported. They are financially solvent. Ninth District Nominating Committee: No report. Ninth District for Dental Health Planning and Hospital Dentistry: Dr. Riggins reported that both committees are meeting in April. Ninth District Medal Committee : Dr. Kirkland, no report Ninth District Bulletin Committee: Dr. Riggins, no report Ninth District Claims Committee no report Ninth District Membership Committee: Dr. Smith reported that the committee will meet on March 14th. He also reported that there has been a good member response. Old Business: Dr. Riggins gave a tribute to Dr. Costello for his work in the society. New business: Board discussed that only board members are invited to attend the executive board meetings. Non-board members should not be copied on executive board s and agenda. Also, board stated that any member of the Dutchess County Dental Society who wishes to discuss a matter can petition the board in order to attend the executive board meeting. The board has the final say as to accept or deny such petition. Good and Welfare: Dr. Rosenbloom s son just got engaged, the wedding will be next April/May. Other announcements: Executive board meetings will be on September 10th, November 12th, January 7th, March 10th, May 12th and June 9th General meetings will be on September 17th, October 15th, November 19th, December 3rd, January 14th, February 18th, March 17th, May 19th and June 23rd.
