Mr. PETERSON stated he was furnishing this material for information purposes and tit if he did not call for it within thirty days, it could be disposed of. PETERSON stated that the main purpose for his visit was to advise that he had been informed by DON STANLEY and JOHN ADEMA that approximately thirty days ago ADEMA and STANLEY had received a telephone call from CALEY originating in Pennsylvania, wherein CALEY had stated that soon a high government official would be assassinated. No elaboration was made on the statement and it was disregarded at the time by STANLEY and ADEMA; however, in the light of the recent events they had instructed Mr. PETERSON to bring this information to the attention of the FBI.

The conversation was terminated shortly and he gave it little thought thereafter until after the assassination of President KENNEDY. In subsequent conversations with CALEY there was never any similar statement. ADEMA also advised that his partner DON STANLEY was not a party to this conversation.

6 PR JRW:LRB (1) On October 22, 1958, HENRY W. RONAYNE telephonically advised SA MICHAEL B. DAVY that he resided at 357 Morris Road, Wayne, Pa., and operates Chick's Auto Body Shop, 101 North Aberdeen Avenue, Wayne, Pa. RONAYNE said he had been asked by WILLIAM T. CALEY to have the Scout Troc,p which RONAYNE is Assistant Director of, distribute 100 copies of a pamphlet called "United. States Day October 23." RONAYNE said CALEY operates a nursing home at Wayne, Pa.,.and frequently visits his body shop with pamphlets and literature to hand out. Much of the litei'ature appears to be anti-semitic and segregationist in nature. RONAYNE forwarded through the mail a copy of the pamphlet he mentioned on the phone, to the Philadelphia Office of the FBI. The pamphlet was published by the United States Day Committee, Inc., P. O. Box 353, Tulsa, Okla., and the pamphlet attacked the United Nations Organization, urged the McCarran-Walter Immigration Act be strengthened, and urged that measures be taken to stop the Federal Government from taking over more of the rights of individuals and powers of local governments. It attacked "Internationalism and creeping Socialism" in the United States. On April 18, 1958, WILLIAM T. CALEY of 20 West Avenue, Wayne, Pa., personally appeared at the New York Office of the FBI requesting to see SA THOMAS J. BARRY. CALEY stated that RUSSELL.MAGUIRE of the American Mercury magazine had furnished him the name of SA BARRY as a person in the FBI "who could be trusted." CALEY said he sometimes had information concerning the "Jewish conspiracy against the United States." CALEY said he came to New York to see MAGUIRE because he had some material concerning "Nigger gun clubs" which he wanted. MAGUIRE to make 100 photo copies.f. CALEY said the information about the "Nigger gun clubs" was given to him by one GRANVILLE ROSE, a vitamin salesman who lives in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He said ROSE is active in getting information concerning "Jews and Niggers." CALEY said he is owner and director of the Caley Research Foundation, 20 West Avenue, Wayne, Pa., which is set up to do research in cancer.

7 PH (2) Yj On December 21, 1962, LOUIS J. NICOLETTI, Investigator, Second U. S. Army Industrial Security Field Office, Philadelphia, Pa., Lt. Col. U. S. Air Forr'e Reserve, residing at 8419 Ardleigh Street, Philadelphia, Pa., was interviewed at his request by SAs GEORGE BICKLEY, JR., and JAMES Q. GORD,lO9th INTC, Philadelphia. NICOLETTI related that he attended a Christmas party at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station on December 15, 1962, and that he became socially acquainted with a Mr. W. T. CALEY when CALEY asked NICOLETTI to join a group of people in his party. CALEY during the course of the evening, almost whispering, asked NICOLETTI whether or not he had evilr heard of "counterinsurgency." NICOLETTI stated to CALEY he had never heard of this, but having his curiosity aroused he attempted to determine from CALEY what "counter-insurgency" was. CALEY said he was speaking in reference to a "counter-insurgency" training program which had as its objective to hold down the American public. CALEY said he had literature regarding "counter-insurgency" and this "counter-insurgency" was related to Major General EDWIN WALKER of the U. S. Army in Texas. CALEY did not specify the relationship between WALKER and "counter-insurgency." CALEY said that he would make some of this literature available to NICOLETTI but NICOLETTI, after departing the club, never heard any more from CALEY. CALEY gave NICOLETTI, during the course of the evening, his business card which read: W. T. CALEY Caley Research Foundation Research Analysis 30 West Avenue Way.as, Pa, MUrray On March 8, 1963, Lt. JOHN LITZENBERG and Sgt. RUSSELL FLEMING, Radnor T:wnship Police Department, Wayne, Pa., advised SA THOMAS F. LEWIS that WILLIAM T. CALEY had been a life-long resident of the area and comes from a family which at one time was considered wealthy. They estimated his age to be in the mid 60's, and said he operates the Caley Nursing Manor, 30 West Avenue,

8 PH () Wayne, Pa., which is also his residence. The manor is a combination rest and nursing home set up and operated by CALEY alone for about 15 years. They said they had never known CALEY to have been arrested or otherwise ccnsidered in the community as a criminal type. He does, however, have a history of making frequent and unfounded nuisance complaints to the department and is considered by most of the individuals who are familiar with him, as being mentally and emotionally unstable. They were reasonably certain, but not positive, he had been confined on occasion to mental institutions. He has few social acquaintances in the City of Wayne. He is considered to be completely unreliable in his comments and it is generally understood in the community that any statements made by him have little, if any, basis in fact. Lt. LITZEMBERG said it was his opinion that CALEY's business survives because of the acute shortage of nursing establishments in the area. 5

9 F0402 (R ) FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION December -, 1963 (1) DONALD G. COX and GENTRY H. LOWE, JR., identified themselves as Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to WILLIAM THOMAS CALEY, 30 West Avenue, Wayne, Pa. Special Agents COX and LOWE then advised Mr. CALEY that he had the right to an attorney and anything he said could be used in a court of law against him. CALEY voluntarily furnished the following information: He advised that DON STANLEY and JOHN ADEMA are plumbers and own and operate the S & A Plumbing Business, Princeton, Minn. He advised that STANLEY and ADEMA do plumbing work for him. Mr. CALEY stated that he owns the Caley Building in Princeton, Minn., and this is the property for which STANLEY and ADEMA are hired to maintain the plumbing. Mr. CALEY advised that he has telephoned STANLEY and/or ADEMA on numerous occasions, in the past. He stated that he does recall telephoning STANLEY and ADEMA about thirty days ago in regard to the furnace in the Caley Building. He stated that he was having the old furnace overhauled and had talked to them regarding this matter. Mr. CALEY stated he did not remember telling or indicating or inferring in any way that President KENNEDY would be assassinated and denied saying, "Soon a high Government official would be assassinated." He stated that he would not have any basis to make this statement and it had not entered his mind. He further advised that he subscribes to the "American Capsule News," which is published every Saturday at 1835 IC Street NW, Washington 6, D.C., and that MORRIS A. DEALLE - is the Editor and Publisher. He advised that he had purchased subscriptions to this weekly newspaper and had given the subscriptions to STANLEY and ADEMA as a gift. Mr. CALEY advised that this newspaper has a section entitled "Predestination." He made available a copy of "American Capsule News," Number 402, dated November 30, 1963, Washington, D. C., and on the inside page under the title, Predestination," appeared the following article in part: On 12/4/63 at Wayne, Pa. # Philadelphia SAs GENTRY H. LOWE, JR., by and DONALD G. 10 PH (2) "On July 16, 1960, Capsule News made the definite, unqualified statement that 'Whoever is elected this year will die in office.'" Mr. CALEY stated that he was of the opinion that Mr. DON STANLEY and Mr. JOHN ADEMA had probably read this "American Capsule News" and attributed the'predietion of the death of an elected official mistakenly to him. Mr. CALEY stated that he could not remember making a telephone call to Mr. ADEMA a few days previous to August 28, He remembered that the March on Washington took place in August 1963, which was a peaceful demonstration to win support for the passage of the Civil Rights Bill. He stated that he did not remember telephoning Mr. ADEMA or Mr. STANLEY previous to this March and denied that he stated to either one of these men to watch for a high Government official to be shot during this March on Washington. Mr. CALEY advised that he does not publish or distribute any literature of any kind, but has purchasid subscriptions to the Capsule News and some other weekly newspapers which he has given to people as gifts. The following description of WILLIAM THOMAS CALEY was obtained from personal observation and interview: Name: Date of Birth: Race: Sex: Height: Weight: Hair: Eyes: Characteristics: WILLIAM THOMAS CALEY February 25, Princeton, Minn.
