4 iv Our Lord s Return Matthew 24:3 (KJV), And as he [Jesus] sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? Jesus said when these things begin to come to pass, Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled Matthew 24:34 (KJV). THE WAR OF GOG AND MAGOG As the war clouds gather for Israel and the Arab and Muslim nations join forces with Russia [Magog], Iran, and their allies, it seems very clear that the Ezekiel 38 & 39 war is about to take place. That Gog, the Chief Prince, will unite all these nations, and God will put it in their hearts to come down and attack Israel. All of these nations will be no match for the nation of Israel, because God will fight for her. The Gentiles dispensation began with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and has continued almost 2,000 years; it will end with the rapture of the church. Although the Gentile dispensation will end with the rapture of the church, there will still be millions of Jews and Gentiles saved during the tribulation period and the millennial thousand years of peace. 9 1 CHAPTER 11 THE TWO WITNESSES HAVE GREAT POWER The two witnesses have great power. They are divinely immunized from all harm. They command supernatural fire to destroy anyone who attempts to come against them, and they control the plagues and the rain. Revelation 11:5 6 (KJV) 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. As we have seen, Elijah also prayed and shut off the rain for a three and one half year period. The droughts affected only the land of Israel. As other plagues controlled by the two witnesses, basically, will affect the European Mediterranean area. It is likely that the same is true of the droughts and the plagues of rain and hail mixed with blood.

10 2 The three and one half years, the two witnesses carry out their ministry, making life more difficult for the Antichrist. Daily they prophesy the return of the Lord Jesus Christ and the number of days till the Antichrist is bound in chains and cast into the bottomless pit in the Battle of Armageddon Revelation 11:7 (KJV), And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. The Antichrist repeatedly failed in his attempt to destroy the two witnesses until four days before the end of the tribulation period. Their divine protection and use of supernatural fire withheld his forces until finally they were overcome. Their dead bodies lie on the Jerusalem Street for three and one half days in view of the entire world. No one is permitted to bury or even touch their bodies. Revelation 11:8 (KJV), And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. How could Jerusalem, the holy city, ever be associated with Sodom and Egypt? The answer lies in our study of the book of Daniel and Revelation. Since we know the Antichrist establishes his headquarters in Jerusalem at mid-tribulation, we can

11 3 begin to understand. Daniel 11:37 reveals several things concerning the Antichrist. One is he has no desire for women. He is a practicing homosexual. This is the reason that Jerusalem is known as Sodom in the last three and one half years of the tribulation. His entrance into Jerusalem draws a crowd of followers like himself. Furthermore, from 2 Thessalonians 2:4, the apostle Paul establishes that the Antichrist announces himself as God: which confirms the last statement of Daniel 11:37. This is idolatry for which Egypt has been known since ancient times. Keep in mind that the false prophet introduces the worship of the image of the beast at a mid-tribulation press conference. This is idolatry in its most fragrant form. The worship of an image is Egyptian in origin. It is the Antichrist and his followers, who bring an evil identity upon the city of Jerusalem, where our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. Revelation 11:9 12 (KJV) 9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to

12 4 another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. 11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. Immediately there was the most severe upheaval of nature in all of history, which had been withheld in reserve since the opening of the sixth seal occurs. Revelation 11:13 14 (KJV) 13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. 14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly. The third woe of Revelation 8:13 involves the fifth, sixth, and seventh trumpets. After the completion of the second woe, the third will came together quickly on the final day of the tribulation. The seventh and final angelic trumpet sounds, producing the Battle of Armageddon and the series of events which end the tribulation period. During the second half of the tribulation period, the Antichrist is contending with this interference and with rebellious nations, including Egypt.

13 5 Four days before Jesus returns to earth, the Antichrist succeeds in killing the two witnesses. In the closing hours of the tribulation, as armies gather for the Battle of Armageddon, the Antichrist is well aware that his hour to meet the Lord Jesus is at hand. In view of the world, the two witnesses, dead for three and one half days, returned to life and are raptured. Once the witnesses have been caught up, the devastating upheaval of nature erupts. On the final day of the tribulation, four major classes of people remain on the earth.

14 6 CHAPTER 12 WHO IS LEFT ON THE EARTH? 1. The followers of the Antichrist. 2. The unsaved people who have not accepted Jesus. 3. The Jewish remnant of Israel. 4. Those who are saved during the last half of the tribulation. 5. It is believed that approximately 40% of the earth s population will remain. After the 144,000 are caught up to heaven, only the Angels and the two witness s minister. After the death of the two witnesses, only the Angels proclaim the Gospel. We know they are successful because God s Word does not return void. However many people continue cursing and blaspheming God. As often happens today, unbelievable as it may seem, the suffering people do not call on God for mercy.

15 7 CHAPTER 13 THE SEVENTH TRUMPET SOUNDS The sounding of the seventh trumpet sets in motion the remaining series of events, which ends the tribulation period. Revelation 11:15 19 (KJV) 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever. 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

16 8 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. Jesus takes over the world s kingdoms and governments. He returns to earth, and then releases a great plague [described in Zechariah 14:12] on the mass of people led by the Antichrist. It destroys the merging forces of the 200 million man Oriental army and the Antichrist army at the Battle of Armageddon. The Antichrist and the false prophet are cast into the lake of fire and Satan is cast into the bottomless pit, imprisoning him for a thousand years. With this, Jesus fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah 9:6, The government will be upon his shoulders. While John in his beautiful thoughts about the ministry, the life, the death, the resurrection, and the rapture of the two witnesses, actually takes us beyond the end of the tribulation period and the Battle of Armageddon. We must now go back and continue our study just beyond mid-tribulation. However, before we do go back, let s go one-step farther and really enjoy what is about to happen as the tribulation period ends! Revelation 19:11 16 (KJV) 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

17 9 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean [He is talking about us]. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Glory to the Lamb of God for he shall reign and we shall reign with him!

18 10 CHAPTER 14 THEIR MINISTRY ENDS Revelation 11:7 (KJV), And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. 21 13 CHAPTER 15 THE THIRD WOE IS RELEASED The third woe of Revelation 8:13 involve the fifth, sixth, and seventh trumpets. After the completion of the second woe, the third will came together quickly on the final day of the tribulation. The seventh and final angelic trumpet sounds, producing the Battle of Armageddon and the series of events, which end the tribulation period. During the second half of the tribulation period, the Antichrist is contending with this interference and with rebellious nations, including Egypt. 22 14 CHAPTER 16 THE DRAGON REVELATION CHAPTER 12 INFORMATIONAL CHAPTER By inspiration of the Holy Spirit, John ties together the past and future events, giving us insight into the entire story of Israel and Jesus Christ in relation to the Revelation. The first five verses of Revelation chapter 12 contain three major characters. A dragon, a sun clothed woman and her male child. Revelation 12:1 3 (KJV) 1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns [turbans] upon his heads.

23 15 THE IDENTITY OF THE DRAGON IS CLEAR. Revelation 12:4 (KJV), And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. Revelation 12:5 (KJV), And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. Without question, the dragon is Satan. His identity becomes completely established by the end of the 12 th chapter. However, there has been much controversy within the Church concerning the identity of the woman and the male child. THE WOMAN Revelation chapter 12 gives us insight into the tremendous story of the woman who brings forth her male child. Simply, the woman is Israel: the male child is Jesus. Some people mistakenly identify the world s institutional religious bodies as the church. The teachings of both Jesus and Paul established that the Church is the company of born again; Spirit led followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, who keep God s Word! Although the institutional church and the true Church are not in any way the same, the members of the Church may

24 16 be associated with religious groups and are often found within it.

25 17 CHAPTER 17 THE MALE CHILD This male child of Revelation 12:5 can only be Jesus. This verse clearly states that the male child is caught up to God, to His Throne, and shall rule all nations with a rod of iron. The church will also be caught up to God and will rule with Christ on the earth however, the church gets its authority through Jesus. Furthermore, verse 4 tells us that Satan is ready to devour the male child the moment the child is born. The church was not placed in the world to be destroyed by Satan, but to be the instrument God uses to wreck Satan s stronghold.

26 18 CHAPTER 18 SATAN IS NOT ALL KNOWING Joseph had traveled slowly to Bethlehem, because of Mary s pregnant condition. By the time they arrived, there was no room left in the Inn. They were offered the next place for warmth and protection from the elements the stable. Satan could not locate the Christ child. Even his number one agent, King Herod, could not acquire the information through his astrologers, soothsayers, clairvoyance or those who deal in witchcraft. These advisers had to refer to the prophetic scripture to determine Jesus birthplace as Bethlehem! Herod shared this information with the kings of the East, hoping they would learn the Christ Childs location, and in turn tell him. However, when warned by God of Herod s evil heart, the Oriental kings left Bethlehem and returned home. After learning of their departure, Herod issued a decree for the deaths of all children in the Bethlehem area two years old and under. Following the instructions of an angel who appeared to him, Joseph took Mary and the

27 19 Christ child to Egypt for their safekeeping. They did not return to the land of Israel until it was safe. This account points out an outstanding truth, Satan had insufficient information to locate the Christ child! Notice how God outfoxed Satan! Had Jesus been born in the best accommodations, Satan could have easily located him. But Satan did not expect a child of majestic importance, destined for Kingship, to be born in an inconspicuous, lowly place. From this, we see that Satan is not all knowing and omnipresent as God is. If he were, the Christ Child could not have been hidden! Some people teach that the male child of Revelation 12:5 is the 144,000 selected Jewish evangelists. However, under their selection the 144,000 are not set upon by Satan to be destroyed. In fact, they have divine immunization and move unhindered in their evangelism. During the first half of the tribulation, the man destined to be the Antichrist is fully occupied attempting to establish his domain, diplomatically, politically, and economically. He is in no position to act against the 144,000 Jewish evangelists. Only Jesus fits the identity of the male Child with ease. The woman is Israel, not the institutional church. She brings forth a male Child who is caught up to God and who will rule all nations with firm authority. In the most exact biblical sense, the woman is Israel and the male

28 20 child is Christ or Jesus. These simple identities totally harmonize with the entire biblical account. Revelation 12:6 (KJV), And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. We are suddenly back at mid-tribulation, where many things are taking place. It is very interesting to note, that just at the time of the mid-tribulation rapture where millions of Jews and Gentiles are taken to heaven, we also see that the millions of Jews are hidden away, in a place prepared of God to care for them during the final 3 1/2 years of the tribulation period. Romans 11:26 (KJV) tells us that, And so all Israel shall be saved. This tells us that many of the Jews have not accepted Christ yet or their robes are not clean and they not ready for the rapture! The 144,000 young Jewish evangelists, the Angels, and the 2 witnesses will continue to minister to this group until they are all saved!

29 21 CHAPTER 19 SATAN S TOTAL DEFEAT REVELATION CHAPTER 12 SATAN IS CAST OUT OF HEAVEN Revelation 12:7 8 (KJV) 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in Heaven. When Satan was defeated and cast out of Heaven, one third of the Angels fell with him. His tail drew a third of the stars of Heaven and threw them to the earth, verse 4. As we saw when we studied chapter 1, the word star often identifies Angels. Revelation 12:10 12 (KJV) 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our

30 22 brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye Heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Some believe that Satan and his angels come and go to Heaven as they please, literally approaching God s throne and accusing the Saints. If this is true, the war between Michael and his angels and the devil and his angels has not occurred, and Satan has not been cast out of Heaven. It means Satan s initial rebellion against God, when he hoped to take God s authority and replace him, continues to this day. God s Word makes this story difficult to accept. Jesus himself declares that he saw Satan fall from Heaven. Revelations 12:10 tells us that once Satan has been cast down, several events follow. Salvation and spiritual life through Jesus Christ, and the beginning of God s kingdom on the earth. Revelation 12:7 11 (KJV) 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

31 8 23 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Satan no longer has access to God to accuse Christians! God has declared that the devil is a liar; there is no truth in him. Our Heavenly Father wouldn t believe Satan s story over one of his children! The entire word of God reveals that God is all-knowing. When one of his children commences a disobedient act or allows temptation to draw him into sin, God knows it immediately. He doesn t have to wait to get his information from the devil! Satan accuses the brethren before other people and themselves. He works overtime, continually inspiring Christians to find fault with one another. This prevents them from having fellowship and from working together, delaying the full formation of the Body of Christ.

32 24 If Satan is unsuccessful in accusing one Christian to another, he will accuse one himself. If you allow this to happen, he will back you in a corner, and use his club of self-condemnation and leave you beating yourself. This frees him to find someone else he can accuse. Today many Christians are living under condemnation, a work of the devil. The Holy Spirit doesn t bring condemnation, but conviction, a work of love. Ephesians 2:2 supplies further proof that Satan was cast out of Heaven. It refers to him as The prince of the power of the air. This shows us that Satan has access to the immediate heaven surrounding the earth, but not to the abode of God. Our space program has provided physical evidence attesting to this. Space missions have probed the stratosphere into the very front yard of God. Until recently, all returning astronauts underwent extensive quarantine and thorough examinations for disease and contamination. Now astronauts no longer are quarantined upon their return from space, because science has discovered that no bacteria or harmful elements of any kind exist beyond the atmosphere of the earth. Satan came to steal, to kill, and to destroy, and the Bible clearly reveals that Satan is the originator of sickness, disease, and all evil. If he were still in the Heavens, his pollution could be found there as it is on the earth.

33 25 Incidentally, upon returning from space, our astronauts often declared they have seen the glory of God. We are more convinced than ever before of the existence of God, says some when returning, for his handiwork is evident. No one has reported sensing any evil influence in space. Our examination of the Dragon, the Sun clothed woman, and the story of angelic warfare, has made us more knowledgeable about our adversary, the devil. Revelation 12 clearly shows that Satan and his angels have absolutely no access to Heaven. After Satan s fall, he was able to upset many of God s earthly plans. Finally, God administered Satan s ultimate defeat by sending Jesus Christ to provide salvation. Remember, Satan is not omnipresent or all knowing. He is only a liar and an accuser. God s Word gives us the authority and the effective tools of the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony to use against him. If you have used these, you have experienced their effectiveness. Men and women abiding in God through Jesus are more than conquerors and more than a match for Satan! No one needs to be devil conscious. Just know how to recognize and deal with the adversary when he shows up. Continue being victorious in the name of the Lord.

34 26 CHAPTER 20 THE WEAKNESS OF THE FLESH OVERCOME God chose a people, Israel, through whom he could work to bless the whole earth. Satan worked against these people. Revelation 12:13 (KJV), And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. History records that after Israel produced the male child, her situation progressively worsened. If it were possible for Satan to succeed in his repeated attempts to destroy the entire Jewish race, much of God s Word could never have been fulfilled making it void. Satan could then accuse God of being incapable of keeping His word. For this reason, God has directly intervened each time Satan has attempted to destroy the Jewish race. Satan hindered God s initial plan in the Garden of Eden. When God brought the law to counter the spiritual setback, Satan began work to make the law ineffective. The law was perfect, but because of the weakness of

35 27 human flesh, Satan was again able to upset God s plan. When God sent Jesus to completely remedy the situation, Satan was incapable of hindering God s plan because he could not overcome Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: he condemned sin in the flesh. To overcome Satan, Jesus came in the weakness of the flesh. By exercising God s given strength over weaknesses, he defeated Satan on every account. As long as we recognize Jesus as the source of our strength, we, his followers, can overcome. Remember Paul s words, For when I am weak, then I am strong 2 Corinthians 12:10 (KJV). We have no excuse for allowing Satan to take advantage of us through the weakness of the flesh. Hold fast to the biblical truth that Jesus has already overcome all areas of weakness and provided us with the spiritual ability to be strong. Because he has defeated Satan, we have defeated Satan. This is an exciting discovery! Through Jesus we are more than conquerors. Greater is Jesus who is in us than Satan who is in the world.

36 28 CHAPTER 21 SATAN ALWAYS FAILS Revelation 12:14 (KJV), And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. The eagle can easily be identified as the United States, Israel s present sponsor. The only great eagle nation, the United States, is capable of quickly airlifting Israel to a hiding place. When Satan cannot find the remnant of Israel, his plans are again foiled. He was also unable to destroy the great multitude; which were called up to Heaven. Every time Satan puts his vehicle in motion, God interferes and stops him. Some teachers have taught that after Jesus appears and catches up the church, God turns earth and its population over to Satan. Satan then comes forth with the Antichrist, the mark of the beast, and the false prophet to subdue the whole world. The tribulation is indeed a

37 29 difficult time however, Satan has never won a round and will not begin by winning during the tribulation. His plans and those of his agent, the Antichrist, continually fail. Because his program doesn t work, the Antichrist becomes the most frustrated human on earth. Revelation 12:15 (KJV), And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. From other uses of the word flood in the Scripture, we know that the flood of verse 15 is not of water, but of words coming from Satan through the man he is chosen to be the Antichrist. The Antichrist, a tremendous orator, attempts to convince the people among whom the remnant has been hidden to destroy the Israelis. Here is what happens. Revelation 12:16 (KJV), And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. Literally interpreted, this verse means that whatever the Antichrist does in his attempt to destroy the remnant of Israel is swallowed up by an act of nature, since the remnant is hidden until the indignation is passed, they cannot be pursued by armies. The earth swallowing up the flood means the Antichrist words are rejected by the people among whom the remnant is hidden.

38 30 Revelation 12:17 (KJV), And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. The description of the forces of the Antichrist waging war in an attempt to destroy the remnant of Israel, places this event as occurring shortly after mid-tribulation. The remnant has the testimony of Jesus Christ, indicating they have accepted Jesus as their Messiah. We know that they, as members of the elect, survive this attack. When Jesus returns, He calls his elect to him from all over the earth. Matthew 24:31 (KJV), And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of Heaven to the other. With the reference to the remnants salvation, an event, which proceeds Jesus return, Revelation 12 has informed us of Israel s history from the birth of Christ through the church age and most of the tribulation period.

39 31 CHAPTER 22 THE RAPTURE OF THE HUNDRED AND 44,000 REVELATION CHAPTER 14 Revelation 14:1 5 (KJV) 1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb.

40 32 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. The 144,000 young Jewish evangelists have finished their ministry. The Antichrist is making a major effort to destroy them, but Jesus gathers them together on Mount Zion and in verse 3, they are suddenly in Heaven before the throne singing the new song.

41 33 CHAPTER 23 THE ANGEL S MINISTRY Angel s Minister of to all nations during the last half of the tribulation. Revelation 14:6 7 (KJV) 6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. We learn from Revelation 5 that all angels appear in heaven around God s throne at the sounding of his trumpet. At this time, the Church Company has been received from earth to heaven. Since the Scriptures give us insight into the assignment and ministry of angels, we know they will assist the 144, 000, plus take up assignments on behalf of their converts.

42 34 At mid-tribulation when the converts of the 144,000 Jewish evangelists are caught up, angels will again take up and carry out their earthly assignment. Their ministry runs concurrently with that of the two witnesses in Jerusalem and the Jewish evangelists will minister to the remnant of Israel. The Church is the present-day vehicle for preaching the gospel. Once it finishes its assignment and is called up to heaven, God selects the 144,000 Jewish evangelists to preach the gospel. As the 144,000 are about to depart for heaven after finishing their assignment, the Angels began preaching the gospel. Revelation 14:8 9 (KJV) 8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. 9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand. Revelation 14:10 (KJV), The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb. God s mercy endures forever. Through his divine order, he keeps the Gospels steadily flowing to all the

43 35 earth. Salvation is still available through believing the Gospel, the power of God to salvation.

44 36 CHAPTER 24 WORSHIP GOD Proclaiming that the hour of God s judgment has come, angels call on people to fear and worship God, the glorious Creator of all. As we have seen, this action creates an enormous problem for the Antichrist. It is obvious to the people he is attempting to influence, that he cannot control the preaching Angels, the two witnesses, or the plagues. This is only the beginning of his trouble. LITERAL HELL Revelation 14:11 (KJV), And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Some people question the existence of a literal hell. They wonder whether there will be punishment in the actual lake of fire. The infallible Scripture teaches that hell exists. The Bible is the only book, which is

45 37 absolutely accurate. God s Word is settled in Heaven and he changes not. CHURCH BE PATIENT A strong admonition emerges from verse 12. By the Holy Spirit, God calls on the church of his day and ours to be patient, to keep God s Word and their faith in Jesus. Refuse to be sidetracked or carried off by any wind of doctrine.
