55 THE REAL JESUS TAUGHT FEAR OF THE LORD Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Proverbs 8:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

56 THE REAL JESUS TAUGHT FEAR OF THE LORD Jeremiah 5:21-24 Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone. 57 THE REAL JESUS TAUGHT FEAR OF THE LORD Isaiah 11:1-3 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

58 THE REAL JESUS TAUGHT FEAR OF THE LORD Acts 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied. 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Ephesians 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

59 THE REAL JESUS FEAR OF THE LORD 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear [GR Deila=TIMIDITY] ; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. THIS IS NOT THE SAME FEAR. The FEAR we talk about is from the Greek PHOBOS(5401) and PHOBEOS (5399) PHOBEROS (5398)[terribly frightful]

THE REAL JESUS Here is what I believe a true gospel message must produce

60 THE REAL JESUS Here is what I believe a true gospel message must produce in us: 1) A hatred for sin that allows no excuses or alibis. 2) A conviction for all spiritual laziness and compromise. 3) A conviction that we will reap what we sow. 4) A righteous, holy fear of God prompting obedience. 5) A confidence that Messiah will deliver us from every sin if we trust Him. 1 Peter 2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

61 BIBLICAL JESUS The One and Only and True Biblical Christ emphasized the teaching of grace in His parables. Taught Faith in God and whom He sent (Jesus Christ the Messiah of Jew & Gentile that believe) Died in our place a substitutionary sacrifice pleasing to the Father. The Son of the living God in whom the fullness of the Godhead dwells. Completes the believer that abides in Him so they can rest assured of their salvation by faith in Him. Full of Grace and Truth All Authority OTHER JESUS Downplays grace emphasizes observance to all OT commandments. (circumcision?) Teaches faith in own works, keeps you ever learning and never able to understand the truth Teaches God does not accept a substitutionary sacrifice especially of a human being. A good man, a prophet but not the Son of God. (not deity just a man) Provides no assurance to a believer, they are always working to earn salvation faith is but a word and not the substance. An add on to our religion - Impotent

62 BIBLICAL JESUS The One and Only and True Biblical Christ said His followers would keep His commandments & He stresses fruit of holiness and obedience. Stresses repentance & Warns the unbelieving, hateful, unforgiving etc will not be saved. Real Jesus says some will be martyred and some have to go through the tribulation. Real Christ warned against falling away and that we are to be ready for his coming. Lord of All and King of Kings OTHER JESUS The commandments are done away/inconsequential & doesn t speak of holiness or obedience much stresses grace & faith without fruit of works. Rarely, if at all, mentions repentance & Fails to warn unbelieving, hateful, unforgiving etc will not be saved. False Jesus says all will go to heaven before trib (rapture) ignores that it is the time of Jacob s trouble. False Christ says Once Saved Always Saved teaches no fear of God. Only a warm fuzzy friend? & savior
