Here is your God, O Israel, that brought you up out of the land of Egypt. [44] - References Woe to the stubborn sons, is the utterance of Yehowah, those disposed to carry out counsel, but not that from me, and to pour out a libation, but not with my spirit, in order to add sin to sin. (Isaiah 30:1) You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. (Exodus 20:4) It was only the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he caused Israel to sin, that Jehu did not turn aside from following them, that is, the golden calves of which one was in Bethel and one in Dan. (2 Kings 10:29) And he proceeded to put in office for himself priests for the high places and for the goat-shaped demons and for the calves that he had made. (2 Chronicles 11:15) Seeing, therefore, that we are the progeny of God, we ought not to imagine that the Divine Being is like gold or silver or stone, like something sculptured by the art and contrivance of man. (Acts of Apostles 17:29) Then he took the gold from their hands, and he formed it with a graving tool and proceeded to make it into a molten statue of a calf. And they began to say; This is your God, O Israel, who led you up out of the land of Egypt. (Exodus 32:4) And these nations came to be fearers of Yehowah, but it was their own graven images that they proved to be serving. As for both their sons and their grandsons, it was just as their forefathers had done that they themselves are doing down to this day. (2 Kings 17:41)

2 They have turned aside in a hurry from the way I have commanded them to go. They have made a molten statue of a calf for themselves and keep bowing down to it and sacrificing to it and saying; This is your God, O Israel, who led you up out of the land of Egypt. (Exodus 32:8) Watch out for yourself for fear you may offer up your burnt offerings in any other place you may see. (Deuteronomy 12:13) Now if it is indeed that the land of YOUR possession is unclean, make YOUR way across to the land of Yehowah s possession where the tabernacle of Yehowah has resided, and get settled in our midst, and against Yehowah do not YOU rebel and do not make us the ones to rebel by YOUR building for yourselves an altar in addition to the altar of Yehowah our God. (Joshua 22:19) And he kept doing what was bad in the eyes of Yehowah and went on walking in the way of his father and in his sin with which he caused Israel to sin. (1 Kings 15:26) And he kept doing what was bad in the eyes of Yehowah and went walking in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin with which he caused Israel to sin. (1 Kings 16:26) And it came about that, as if it were the most trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he now took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal the king of the Sidonians and began to go and serve Baal and to bow down to him. (1 Kings 16:31) And he kept doing what was bad in Yehowah s eyes and went walking in the way of his father and in the way of his mother and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin. (1 Kings 22:52) Only he stuck to the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, with which he caused Israel to sin. He did not depart from them. (2 Kings 3:3)

3 And he went walking in the way of the kings of Israel, just as those of the house of Ahab had done, for it was Ahab s daughter that became his wife, and he kept doing what was bad in Yehowah s eyes. (2 Kings 16:3) And he continued to do what was bad in Yehowah s eyes, only not as the kings of Israel that happened to be prior to him. (2 Kings 17:2) And they continued to serve dungy idols, concerning which Yehowah had said to them; YOU must not do this thing. (2 Kings 17:12) And they kept leaving all the commandments of Yehowah their God and proceeded to make for themselves molten statues, two calves, and to make a sacred pole, and they began to bow down to all the army of the heavens and to serve Baal. (2 Kings 17:16)

4 And the sons of Israel went walking in all the sins of Jeroboam that he had done. They did not depart from them. (2 Kings 17:22) And also the altar that was in Bethel, the high place that Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he pulled down. Then he burned the high place, he ground it to dust and burned the sacred pole. (2 Kings 23:15) And now YOU men are thinking of holding YOUR own against the kingdom of Yehowah in the hand of the sons of David, when YOU are a large crowd and there are with YOU the golden calves that Jeroboam made for YOU as gods. (2 Chronicles 13:8) And many were the days that Israel had been without a true God and without a priest teaching and without Law. (2 Chronicles 15:3) For it was for the God of his father that he searched and in his commandment he walked, and not according to the doing of Israel. (2 Chronicles 17:4) But he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and even molten statues he made of the Baals. (2 Chronicles 28:2) So that an apostate man may not reign, nor there be snares of the people. (Job 34:30) And they kept offending him with their high places, and with their graven images they kept inciting him to jealousy. (Psalms 78:58) For in that day they will reject each one his worthless gods of silver and his valueless gods of gold, that YOUR hands have made for yourselves as a sin. (Isaiah 31:7) Who has formed a god or cast a mere molten image? Of no benefit at all has it been. (Isaiah 44:10) And her prostitutions carried from Egypt she did not leave, for with her they had lain down in her youth, and they were the ones that pressed the bosoms of her virginity and they kept pouring out their immoral intercourse upon her. (Ezekiel 23:8) They themselves have set up kings, but not because of me. They have set up princes, but I did not know it. With their silver and their gold they have made for themselves idols, to the end that they may be cut off. (Hosea 8:4) For the calf idol of Beth-aven the residents of Samaria will get frightened, for over it its people will certainly mourn, as well as its

5 foreign-god priests who used to be joyful over it, on account of its glory, because it will have gone into exile away from it. (Hosea 10:5) And the high places of Beth-aven, the sin of Israel, will actually be annihilated. Thorns and thistles themselves will come up upon their altars. And people will in fact say to the mountains, Cover us! And to the hills; Fall over us! (Hosea 10:8) And now they commit additional sin and make for themselves a molten statue from their silver, idols according to their own understanding, the work of craftsmen, all of it. To them they are saying; Let the sacrificers who are men kiss mere calves. (Hosea 13:2)
