7 The Torah is divided into four levels of teaching. P shat, Drash, Remez Sod

8 P shat Level The P shat is the plain sense of the text. What does it actually say. Every word, phrase, thought has meaning. There s no word that is redundant or idle. Even if it appears to be, it s not. It s the first step in learning Torah.

9 Drash Level The Drash is where truth and principle are presented. Truth can only be truth if it is confirmed. Truth is true yesterday, today & tomorrow Truth and principle must come in the form of evidence and evidence must be by at least two or three witnesses.

10 Remez Level The Remez is the underlying story that is told. It s how prophecy is laid into the story of history. Remez shows the plan for Yeshua s redemption and restoration in Torah.

11 Sod Level The Sod is the mysterious and coded level. This involves the understanding of numbers along with the meaning associated with certain words and numerical values. For example, the number 1 represents "Echad" "Two" represents struggle, division or witness, and so on. This level also involves the meanings of names.

12 "It is a tree of life to all who grasp it, and whoever holds on to it is happy; its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all it paths are peace." Proverbs 3:17-18 Genesis, Proverbs, Revelation

13 Rev. 22:2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. This is a Remez/SOD example.

14 John the Baptist says in Matthew 3:12 His winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly cleanse His threshing floor. He will gather His wheat into the barn, but the chaff He will burn up with unquenchable fire. Threshing floor is a name for the Temple, as David purchased the plot of land for the altar. In 2 Samuel 24:18 it says Gad came that day to David, and said to him, Go up, build an altar to YHVH on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

15 Mark 11:13 Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. Hosea 9:10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness. I saw your fathers as the first ripe in the fig tree at its first season... Don t think to yourselves, We have Abraham for our father, for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. Even now the axe lies at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that doesn t bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire. Matthew 3:7-10

16 Yeshua returned to First Century Israel to see if they were ready for Redemption. They had the fig leaves, they looked and acted like they were ready, but that generation did not bear the figs or fruit of teshuva, repentance. He came to hasten the Redemption, as the book of Isaiah says, 60:22 I, your YHVH, will hasten it in its time. Proverbs 27:18 Whoever tends the fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who is attentive to his master will be honored.

17 John 2:13 And the Passover of the Yehud im was near, and wentיהושע up to Yerushalayim. And He found in the Set-apart Place those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the moneychangers sitting. And having made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the Setapart Place, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the moneychangers coins and overturned the tables.

22 Dove Facts

23 In Scripture, doves are the most important bird mentioned. Two reasons are usually given for that. One, the dove was the first bird, along with the raven mentioned in the Tanakh, other than the general references to fowls in connection with creation; second the dove is the sacrifice which the poor man could bring to Yeshua in Torah as a sacrifice for his sin.

24 Purity A dove with the olive leaf is a symbol of peace, and the symbol of purity, because that is what the Bible emphasizes a purity that is emphasized by the dove. That is the reason the Holy Spirit came in the form of a dove in Mat 3:16 And having been immersed, wentיהושע up immediately from the water, and see, the heavens were opened, and He saw the Spirit of Elohim descending like a dove and coming upon Him,

25 Dove Wings YHVH is talking to the nation of Israel and to all of His children in the SOD of Psalm 68:13 If you lie down among the sheepfolds, The wings of a dove are covered with silver, And her feathers with yellow gold.

26 Jeremiah 48:28 O inhabitants of Mo ab, leave the cities and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove making a nest in the sides of the cave s mouth.

27 Where does the dove make her nest? Not down where all the danger is, but in the distant places; in the mouth of a cave. Jeremiah is saying to those who are responsive to YHVH's message, in the land of Moab, to be like the dove and get away to a place of safety.

28 Song of Soloman2:14 O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the covering of the cliff, Let me see your appearance, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your appearance is lovely.

29 The Innocent Dove Hosea 7:11 And Ephrayim has become an innocent dove without heart, they have called on Mitsrayim, they have gone to Ashshur. Ephrayim was innocent enough to think that Egypt and Assyria could come to her rescue when YHVH was coming down hard on Ephrayim. I think Hosea had seen a dove trapped because of its innocence. Hosea recognized that characteristic of the dove and he said, Ephrayim is just like that.

30 Mat 10:16-17 See, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. But beware of men, for they shall deliver you up to sanhedrins and flog you in their congregations.

32 The ardour of Pinchas and the ardour of Yeshua was the feelings of great intensity and fervor.

33 Psalm 69:9 Because the ardour for Your house has eaten me up, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.

34 Num 25:11-13 Pineh as, son of Elʽazar, son of Aharon the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Yisra ĕl, because he was with My ardour in their midst, so that I did not consume the children of Yisra ĕl in My ardour. Therefore say, See, I am giving him My covenant of peace, and it shall be to him and to his seed after him a covenant of an everlasting priesthood, (Hebrews 6:20-7) because he was ardent for his Elohim, and made atonement (yippur) for the children of Yisra ĕl.

36 Zimri (shout out) the Prince of the tribe of Shimon was publicly flouting Moses' authority by taking the Midianite princess Kozbi (deceiver) for himself in front of his brothers, in front of Moses and in front of the whole Assembly of Israel. He must have thought that if Moses could marry the daughter of the Priest of Midian, (Madina) why should he not also be allowed to take a Midianite princess?

37 There is some irony in this challenge to the authority of Moshe. It was Jacob's sons, Shimon and Levy, in the act of ardour that earned them the anger of their father. This was the killing of the people of Shechem for the kidnapping of their sister Dinah. The inhabitants of Shechem had agreed to become circumcised, but for the wrong reason: it wasn t the YHVH of Abraham that they wanted, but the Israelite women.

38 Only Pinchas remembered -- the son of Elazar, who was now High Priest after his father, Aaron. Fear was keeping everyone else from doing anything while the Israelite code of morality was being publicly mocked. Pinchas was all alone no one else did anything.

39 He was in real danger of being publicly lynched. He didn t give a care, he took up his spear, went straight into the tent after Zimri and Kozbi and pierced the two of them while in the act, bringing them out on the spear to show everyone his adour.
