DAILY BLESSING SIDDUR Introduction Many times I have sat down to pray and had the list of needs that I felt led to pray about dry up in just a few minutes. The prayer session then seemed to become a struggle to keep focused upon ADONAI and just spend time with Him. As I have continued to study the Torah and other writings it has become apparent that prayer is a most critical requirement if our relationship with ADONAI is to progress as it should. If that is the case, why is it so hard to just sit down and communicate with our Creator? Why is the thought of spending an hour in quiet prayer such a burden? The thought of spending time with ADONAI/Yeshua so exciting until I sit down to start. Over the years I have accumulated several good Siddurs (Prayer Books). While both Jewish and Messianic Siddurs are available in my library, because of my lack of ability to read Hebrew, I have tended to be intimidated by them. This brief Siddur is being written in English only in order to help others begin to see the blessing of the ancient Psalms and prayers. The use of those Psalms will assist us in preparing for a time of prayer. Many of the ancient sages teach that it takes an hour of preparation before you are really ready for serious communication with ADONAI. My hope is that as you become more comfortable with the Psalms and prayers in English that you will begin to learn the transliterated Hebrew. While I do not think that Hebrew is the only language of prayer, I do think it will be a blessing to pray in the language that Yeshua used. BLESSING UPON ARISING I gratefully thank You, living and existing King, for granting me another day with compassion, abundant is your faithfulness. CONFESSIONS - HAND WASHING BLESSING Before washing the hands, the following scripture may be recited: The earth is ADONAI s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. Who shall ascend into the hill of ADONAI? Or who shall stand in His holy place?

He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalm 24: 1-4 As the water is poured over the hands, the following blessing is said: Blessed are you ADONAI our Elohim, King of the universe, who has sanctified us by Your commandments and has commanded us concerning the washing of hands. Tighten the arm tefillin and wrap the strap seven times around the arm. Without any interruption whatsoever, put the head tefillin in place, above the hair line and between the eyes. Before tightening the head tefillin recite the following blessing: Blessed are You, ADONAI, our Elohim, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us regarding the commandment of tefillin. Tighten the head tefillin and recite: Blessed is the Name of His glorious kingdom for all eternity. After the head tefillin is in place, recite: From Your wisdom, O supreme Elohim, may you imbue me. OUR DUTY (AH LAY NU) It is our duty to praise the Master of all, to ascribe greatness to the Molder of primeval creation, for He has not made us like the nations of the lands, and has not emplaced us like families of the earth. For He has not assigned our portion like theirs, nor our fate like all their multitudes. And we kneel, and bow and acknowledge our thanks, before the King who reigns over kings, the Holy One, Blessed is He. He stretches out heaven and establishes earth (Isaiah 51:13), the seat of His glory is in the heavens above, and His powerful presence is in the loftiest heights, He is our Elohim and there is none other. True is our King, there is nothing beside Him, as it is written in His Torah: You shall know today and take it back to your heart, that ADONAI is the only Elohim in heaven above, and on earth below, there is none other. And it is said: ADONAI will be King over all the world, on that day ADONAI will be One and His Name will be One. (Zech 14:9) Do not fear sudden terror, on the holocaust of the wicked when it comes. Eliyahu the Prophet, Eliyahu the Tishbite, Eliyahu from Galidi, quickly in our day, come to us, with Messiah Yeshua, the Son of David. THE DISCIPLES PRAYER (TEH FEE LAHT HA TAL MEE DIM) Our Father, Who is in Heaven, Holy is Your Name. Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done, in earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever In the Name of Yeshua Ha Masciach. Amen PRAYER OF THE MASTER (Matt 5-7) "Blessed are the poor in spirit! For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. "Blessed are they who mourn! For they shall be comforted. "Blessed are the meek! For they shall inherit the Earth. "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness! For they will be fed. "Blessed are the merciful! For they shall obtain mercy. "Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God. "Blessed are the peacemakers! For they shall be called sons of God. "Blessed are they who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness! For theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. "Blessed are you when men insult you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in Heaven is great. For in this way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. "You are the salt of the Earth, but if the salt becomes tasteless, how will it be made salty again? For it has strength for nothing any more, but to be thrown out, and to be trampled under by men. "You are the light of the world. A city situated on a mountain cannot be hidden. "Nor do they take a lamp and put it under a peck-measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. "So let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works, and may glorify your Father Who is in Heaven. "Do not think that I came to abolish the Torah or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. "Truly I say to you, until Heaven and Earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the Torah, until all is accomplished. "Whoever then shall break one of these commandments, the least, and shall teach others to do so, he shall be called least in the

Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. "For I say to you, that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall by no means enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. "You have heard that it was said to the ancients: 'You shall not commit murder' and 'Whoever commits murder shall be guilty to judgment.' "But I say to you, everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be guilty to judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca, shall be guilty before the Sanhedrin; but whoever says 'You fool' shall be guilty enough to be thrown into Gey-Hinnom. "Therefore, if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, "leave your offering there before the altar, and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering. "Be well-minded with your opponent quickly, while you are with him on the road, in order that your opponent may not deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. "Truly I say to you, in no way shall you come out from there unless you pay the last kodrantes. "You have heard that it was said to the ancients: 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY.' "But I say to you, everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. "And if your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you. For it is profitable for you that one of your members perish, then for your whole body to be thrown into Gey-Hinnom. "And if your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you. For it is profitable that one of your members perish, then for your whole body to go into Gey-Hinnom. "It was also said, 'WHOEVER SENDS HIS WIFE AWAY, LET HIM GIVE HER A BILL OF DIVORCE.' "But I say to you, that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the cause of fornication, makes her commit adultery. And whoever shall marry the one put away commits adultery. "Again, you have heard that it was said to the ancients: 'YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FALSE OATHS, BUT YOU SHALL MAKE YOUR OATHS TO ADONAI.' "But I say to you, make no oath at all, neither by Heaven, for it is the throne of God, "nor by the Earth, because it is the footstool of His feet, nor by Yerushalayim, because it is the city of the great King. "Nor shall you swear by your head, because you do not have the power to make one hair white or black. "But let your

statement be, 'Yes, yes' or 'No, no.' For whatever is more than these is of evil. "You have heard that it was said: 'AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.' "But I say to you, do not resist the evil, but whoever strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other to him also. "And if anyone wants to sue you and take your inner garment, let him have your coat also. "And whoever shall impress you to go one mile, go two with him. "To he who is asking of you be giving, and he who is wishing to borrow from you, do not turn him away. "You have heard that it was said: 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' "But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, "so that you may be sons of your Father in Heaven, because He cause His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. "For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have? Do not the tax-collectors do the same? "And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more? Do not even those of the nations do the same? "Therefore you be brought to goal, just as your Heavenly Father has been at the goal. "Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them. Otherwise you have no reward with your Father Who is in Heaven. "When therefore you do give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, that they have their reward. "But when you do give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand does, "so that your alms may be in secret, and your Father seeing in secret will reward you. "And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the open streets, in order to be seen of men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room. And when you have shut the door, pray to your Father in secret, and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you. "But when you pray, do not use meaningless babble, as the nations do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. "Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask Him. "Pray, therefore, in this way: 'Our Father Who is in Heaven, hallowed be Your name. "Let Your Kingdom come, and Your Will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. "Give us this day our daily bread, "and forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors. "And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

For Your s is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amein. "For if you forgive men for their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. "But if you will not forgive men, then your Father will not forgive your trespasses. "And when you fast, do not put on a sullen countenance as the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. "But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, "so as not to appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father in secret, and your Father Who sees in secret will reward you. "Do not store up for yourselves treasures upon Earth, where moth and rust disfigure, and where thieves break in and steal. "But store up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust disfigure, and where thieves do not break in or steal. "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. "But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! "No one has the power to serve two lords. For either he will hate the one, and he will love the other; or he will cleave to one, and he will despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon. "Because of this, I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, what you eat or what you drink; nor for your body, or what you put on. Is not the soul more than food, and the body than clothing? "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth more than they? "And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his stature? "And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor do they spin. "But I say to you that even Shlomo in all his glory did not array himself like one of these. "If God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more do so for you, O you of little faith? "Then do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink' or 'With what shall we clothe ourselves?' "For after all these things

the nations seek. For your Heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. "But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. "Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow shall be anxious for its own things. Each day has enough evil of itself. "Do not judge, that you may not be judged, "for with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look on the twig that is in your brother s eye, but do not see the log that is in your own eye? "Or how will you say to your brother, 'Allow me to cast out the twig from your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? "Hypocrite, first cast the log out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to cast the twig out of your brother s eye. "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. "For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks it shall be opened. "Or what man is there among you, if his son shall ask him for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone? "Or if he shall ask for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? "If you then, being evil, know to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in Heaven give good things to those that ask Him? "Therefore, however you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Torah and the Prophets. "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the road is broad that leads to perdition, and many are the ones who go through it. "For the gate is small, and the road is narrow that leads to life, and few are the ones who find it. "But beware of the false prophets who come to you in sheep s clothing, for inside they are ravenous wolves. "From their fruits you shall know them. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? "Even so, every good tree yields beautiful fruit; but the bad tree yields evil fruit. "A good tree does not have the power to produce evil fruit, nor can a bad tree produce beautiful fruit. "Every tree that does not yield beautiful fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "So then, surely from their fruits you shall know them. "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of My Father Who is in Heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did

we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who are working lawlessness.' "Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does them, I will compare him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. "And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; but it did not fall, for it had its foundation on the rock. "And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and who does not do them, he shall be compared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand. "And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; and it fell, and great was its fall." And it happened, when Yeshua had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at His teaching; for He was teaching them as One having authority, and not as the scribes. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (Exo 20:3-17) 1.Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 2.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 3.Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. 4.Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. 5.Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. 6.Thou shalt not kill. 7.Thou shalt not commit adultery. 8.Thou shalt not steal. 9.Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

10.Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor s. Note: You may now add your personal prayer
