Miracles Do you need a miracle maybe many miracles? Is your heart filled with compassion toward the many people in your life who need a supernatural breakthrough? Do you need God s manifest presence and power in your own life? If so, this is a season to go beyond religion and churchianity to move past head knowledge and experience something as you never have before: the unleashed power of God. We have available to us a lot of information about God. But what we need most is His very real, powerful, manifest presence. I receive many letters from people describing their difficult situations. Some are battling health issues or struggling financially. Some have children who are far from God. Others are depressed, wrestling with sin or feeling overwhelmed by the enemy s power. These people need not just a miracle but many miracles. If this describes you, I want you to know that God is good and He is a good Father who does good for His children. I encourage you that calling on Jesus and placing your full trust in Him opens the windows of heaven that miracles are available to you today. continued next page

It is not enough to have information about a powerful God; we must experience His power. And His power is a promise received by faith. I pray this year that through His promises you will see healings, provisions, breakthroughs, deliverances, signs and wonders. God has not changed: He remains a Lord of interventions, a Father who s ever-present with power on our behalf. He has called us to receive the miracles He promises are ours. Yet there s more. We are also called to move forward in faith bringing God s miracle-working power to others is not just a year for us to receive miracles but to go forth as witnesses taking God s powerful love to those we minister to. A time comes for us to take our eyes off our own needs and become vessels of His

wonder-working power for others. Indeed, the Lord works countless miracles through those who pray and believe for His supernatural intervention on behalf of those in need. Let the daily Scriptures in this faith promise calendar be powerful weapons in the warfare of your life and ministry. Let them provide fuel to stoke the holy fire God has put within you. Read and meditate deeply on each verse for each day, and let it build you up and encourage you. Let it be more than information; let it be a revelation that unleashes from heaven the miracle-working power of our loving Father.

MIRACLES KNOWING GOD by Gary Wilkerson I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Philippians 3:8 ESV Read: John 6:22-40 Every generation of Christians must check itself to discern whether its mission and actions are God-honoring. We continually have to ask ourselves, Are we still serving the Lord and our neighbor faithfully and sacrificially? Or have we drifted into a bless me mentality? Christ knew exactly where the masses hearts were when they began following Him. You want to be with me because I fed you, not because you understood the miraculous signs (John 6:26). Why does Jesus refer to miraculous signs here? Think about what a sign does. It points to something; it isn t the thing itself. When a road sign reads, Denver 60 Miles, we know we re not in Denver yet but we re on the way. In the same way, Jesus was letting the disciples know that the loaves and fishes weren t the point. They revealed the loving care of the heavenly Father. His miracles are signs of His care for us. The crowd s response revealed their hearts. Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat (John 6:31). They were playing Moses example against Jesus. It was arm-twisting, like a child who goes to each parent trying to get what he wants. Do we look for God in our midst or do we merely seek His provision? Let s be honest, often when we pray we want an answer now, today, this hour. That s an unfortunate trait of our world s have it all now culture. In a spiritual sense, we lack a tremendous value that the Greatest Generation held dear: to know that by faith we ll eventually see great blessings. For the Christian, knowing God isn t about being blessed now. The Lord won t bend to our lusts to give us everything we want when we want it. His desire is to have a relationship with us an ongoing, long-term relationship that bears lasting fruit. So His blessings aren t the end-all of the relationship; they re signs of His faithfulness and compassion traits that any of us would covet in a relationship. Christ s miracles were evidence of those beautiful traits.

MIRACLES DO IT AGAIN, LORD! by David Wilkerson God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles... Hebrews 2:4 ESV Read: Mark 8 In Mark 8, Jesus once more fed a crowd this one numbering 4,000 people with just seven loaves and a few fish. Again, the disciples took up several baskets of leftovers (see Mark 8:5-8). Yet Christ discerned that the disciples still didn t accept His miracleworking power, so He asked them, Is your heart still hardened? (Mark 8:17). I picture the disciples after this second feeding sitting dumbfounded. They must have thought, This can t be happening. If Jesus truly is God, why would He choose us to share in such incredible power? We re just uneducated fishermen. Why would He walk out onto the water to get into our little boat instead of revealing this miracle to a group that s more worthy? You ve probably wondered the same things at times about yourself: There are billions of people on this earth. Why did God speak to me? Why did He choose me? The reason is that it was an absolute miracle. Your conversion was totally supernatural. It wasn t just one unexplainable natural event no, there was nothing natural about it. Why? Because there is nothing natural about the Christian life. It is all supernatural. It s a life dependent upon miracles from the very beginning (including your conversion). And it simply can t be lived without faith in the supernatural. The power that keeps you in Christ is totally supernatural. The world lives in darkness, but you have the light all because you live in the realm of the supernatural. There s nothing natural about your body being the temple of the Holy Ghost. Nothing is natural about being the abode of the supernatural God of the universe. Dear saint, you simply must accept this by faith: The same supernatural God who fed crowds of thousands with just a few loaves will work supernaturally in your crises also. His miracle-working power will deliver you from all bondages. It will empower you to walk in freedom. And He ll use your weakness indeed, your very lowest state to show the world His miracles of keeping power. Hard times are guaranteed to come upon all who follow Jesus. Yet when those times come we re to say with confidence, Do it again, Lord. You ve worked miracles before in my life. You ve delivered Your servants supernaturally throughout history. Let your strength be made perfect in my weakness.

MIRACLES LET GOD DO MIRACLES THROUGH YOU! by Gary Wilkerson Behold, I will bring to it health and healing... Jeremiah 33:6 ESV Read: Acts 3:1-10 Our Father God is so good, caring and loving that He works marvelous miracles for us. When He does, we rejoice. And in my experience, it can be an even greater joy when the Father allows us to be the vessel through whom He releases miracles in others lives. Peter saw Jesus heal his mother. That was an amazing moment for the disciple. Yet I believe Peter was just as thrilled when God used him to heal a blind man begging at the gate. I can imagine him in near shock as he found the words coming out of his mouth, Such as I have, I give to you. What did Peter have? God s love and God s power. When that beggar rose, so did Peter s heart rate. The apostle would never be the same. It was one thing for him to receive a miracle by the mercy of God. It was quite another to step out in faith and see that God works miracles through us the way He did through Jesus. When it comes to seeing the supernatural, it truly is better to give than to receive. When you step out in faith and hold onto God s promises on behalf of others, you are not only personally blessed; you also become part of Jesus mission to destroy the works of the enemy and see His Father s kingdom come. My wife and I have been praying for the sick in restaurants, on the streets, in shops and among our neighbors, and we re seeing many people healed. All this accomplishes God s purposes yet it also fills our hearts with overwhelming joy. Tears fill our eyes as we realize we re just normal people who happen to believe in the power of God and look what happens! Take time this month to look at others through the Father s eyes of compassion. You will see hurting, sick and distressed people all around you. Step out in faith and see what happens. I assure you that when you move in faith, God s power will be right there. Don t let fear, social conformity or any sense of intimidation hinder you. Satan wants you to fear praying for the sick, yet God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound (Jesus-filled) mind.

MIRACLES LESSONS FOR US by David Wilkerson That I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith... Romans 1:12 NKJV Read: Mark 7 In Mark 7, we find Jesus performing a great miracle. The whole dramatic scene takes place in just five verses: "Again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He came through the midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee. Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly (Mark 7:31-35). Picture the scene. As Jesus arrived on the shores of Decapolis, He encountered a man who was both deaf and tongue-tied. The man could talk, but his speech was unintelligible. Christ took the man aside, away from the crowd, and as He stood before the man, He placed His fingers in his ears. Then Jesus spat, and touched his tongue, speaking two words: "Be opened!" And instantly, the man could hear and speak clearly. Just prior to this scene, Jesus had also delivered a woman's demonpossessed daughter. By merely speaking a word, He cast the evil spirit out of the girl. Why are these two miracles recorded in Scripture? Are they included as just two more scenes from the Lord's life on earth? I believe these stories were recorded for all these reasons, and much more. Jesus tells us every word He spoke came from the Father. He said and did nothing on His own, but by His Father's leading. Moreover, every event of Christ's life holds a lesson for us (see 1 Corinthians 10:11). The vast majority of Christians believe such stories are preserved in Scripture because they reveal much to us. They are intended to show God's power over Satan and sickness. They're meant as proof of Christ's deity, to establish that He was God in flesh. And they're meant to encourage our faith, to show us that our God can work miracles.

MIRACLES THAT TAKE ACTS OF FAITH by Gary Wilkerson Read: Acts 12:7-11 MIRACLES Your faith has saved you. Go in peace. Luke 7:50 NKJV Once the apostle Peter was miraculously freed from prison (see Acts 12:7-11), he went to the house of prayer to report the miracle to those who had been interceding for him. As Peter knocked, the group was still fervently praying inside. They had no idea how effective their prayers for their brother had been. Indeed, Scripture says their prayers were earnest meaning they were holding on to God and not giving up. This is the kind of prayer Christ calls His church to. It is persistent and passionate in its desire to see a loved one, friend or even a city set free. But an interesting thing happened when these believers learned that their prayers had been answered: They didn t believe it! A servant girl told them Peter was at the gate. In her joy she did not open the gate but ran in and reported that Peter was standing at the gate. They said to her, You are out of your mind. But she kept insisting that it was so, and they kept saying, It is his angel! (12:14-15, ESV). Apparently they believed Herod had already killed him. God is in the miracle business. He does the impossible with a single word and when He sets His people free, they are free indeed. But maybe you have noticed something in your own life that happens when you struggle with a problem. That is, God opens the first few gates for you and then leaves the last one for you to open by faith. He supernaturally opened gates for Peter, but this last one required the faith and action of the man. Why does the Lord do this? He knows that even with our most fervent prayers, we may still have a tiny corner of unbelief in our hearts. Yes, God is sovereign in His power but He wants His bride to be involved in His acts of redemption. Every genuine move of God throughout history has required men and women to stand up and say, I want to be counted. I might be weak or shy, but God honors those who act in faith. Yes, it all begins with prayer. Fervent, effectual prayer moves God to open iron gates and set captives free. Peter s story makes that clear. But this scene also shows that if we don t act in faith to open that last gate, some captives will remain standing outside. So here is the last part of fervent prayer: faithful action.

Read: 1 Corinthians 1:27 MIRACLES FINDING YOUR FIRE by Nicky Cruz Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him. Psalm 62:8 NKJV Recent studies have predicted that by the year 2020 Islam will be the primary religion in Norway and all Scandinavian countries. If that is correct, we can expect to see it as the state religion in Norway within the next few years. That s what has happened in every other country where Muslims developed a foothold. It saddens me to see how little impact Christians have been making in Europe. We ve been all but powerless in effectively reaching the lost not only in European countries but in the United States. We pray for God to expand our territory, to help the Body of Christ grow and flourish, yet so few denominations are seeing that happen. Most are shrinking, and some are dying out altogether. What will it take for God to finally grab hold and bring about the transformation that we need the transformation we pray for? When will we finally rise up and make a serious dent in Satan s foothold in the world? The answer is so simple it feels strange to have to say it: We must trust in God for great miracles! We must rise together with contrite hearts and bold faith, asking God to make us mighty warriors for the kingdom. Like the young people who work with us our Twelve Disciples we must open our hearts and lives to God and allow Him to instill His passion for souls within us, to develop in our hearts a soul obsession. To break us, to use us, to empower us for service! When you look at this small band of young people, these twelve unlikely heroes, these bruised and battered who own little more than a few sets of clothes and a raging fire of passion in their hearts, and you see how mightily God is using them on the front lines of battle, you begin to get just a small glimpse of what God can do with even the smallest ounce of faith. You see what it was that caused the early church to explode in numbers, drawing thousands to the faith from only a handful of disciples. You understand what it was that attracted people to the message the message of Jesus. And you see how much God can accomplish with so very little.

MIRACLES MIRACLES FOR GOD S LAST DAYS PEOPLE by David Wilkerson...the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come... Hebrews 6:5 ESV Read: Isaiah 25:7 Here are two marvelous prophecies, the first of which involves the Jews. The veil Isaiah refers to here is the spiritual blindness that had covered Jews hearts since Moses time. The apostle Paul speaks at length of this blindness: When [they] shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away (2 Corinthians 3:16). Blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.... There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob (Romans 11:25-26 KJV). Paul believed what Isaiah prophesied about Israel: that the Deliverer would cast off their veil of blindness. A Jewish remnant was going to turn to the Lord and obtain His mercy (see 11:30). Beloved, this prophecy is being fulfilled right now. Around the world, Jews eyes are being opened to Christ. One secular magazine reports that Jews are now taking a new look at Jesus. That s all it takes just one look. But Isaiah s prophecy also has another meaning, which has to do with your immediate family. It applies to every spouse, every child, every family member who has had a veil of spiritual blindness cast over them by Satan. I receive many letters from parents who write of their children being blinded by the enemy. They raised their young ones in a Christian environment but now the parents are confused and bewildered, saying, I don t understand what happened. They just don t believe. Nothing I say gets through. Paul says the god of this world has blinded these young ones. They ve lost faith because the enemy has shut out the light of the gospel to them. Therefore, it doesn t do any good for a parent to try to look deeper for a reason behind it. It s all the work of Satan. He wants to keep that child bound, confused and in sin. The problem goes way beyond counseling, preaching or parenting strategies. It s going to take a miracle, plain and simple. Our battle must take place in the Spirit. After all, we re up against a spirit from the god of this world. It s going to require the presence of Christ in our lives such as we ve never known it. Only Jesus manifest reality will melt Satan s bondage like wax, rendering it powerless against our loved one.

MIRACLES STIR UP THE GIFT OF GOD by Carter Conlon As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another... 1 Peter 4:10 ESV Read: 2 Timothy 1:3-7 Paul said to Timothy, Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands (2 Timothy 1:6). My word to you today is the same: Stir up the gift of God. When God put His hand on you, He put a deposit of His life within you the ability to do the supernatural. So how do you stir up the gift of God? It starts by saying, Lord, I want it! I want my life to be what You have called it to be. I do not want to simply blend in with this society and ultimately make no difference. I want the power to stand out as a follower of Jesus Christ. That has been my prayer over the course of my entire Christian life: Lord, stir me. Take me to another place: don t let me become stagnant. Don t let me live on yesterday s grace and yesterday s victory. Today is a new day; there are new people I am going to encounter. Stir the compassion in my heart. Give me the eyes to see people the way You see them. Don t let me be afraid of people s faces. You are alive inside me; You gave me Your Holy Spirit; and You left me on the earth for a purpose so help me to lay hold of the reason I am alive in this generation! Remember, the only thing that stops the true child of God is unbelief. And so we must ask God for the grace to honor Him and make full use of the deposit He has given to us. That is how souls will be touched as they see the reality of Jesus Christ living in us!

MIRACLES SHOW US YOUR GLORY by Gary Wilkerson...His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. 1 Peter 4:13 NKJV Read: Acts 3:1-16 Peter and John were walking to the Temple when they encountered a crippled beggar. Hearing the man s pleas for alms, Peter responded, I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk! (Acts 3:6, ESV). The beggar was healed instantly! It was a miracle that had a resounding effect: While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon s (3:11). Here was yet another amazing scene of God s glory manifesting. The healed man clung to Peter and John. The image here is of someone hanging on for dear life, clutching unashamedly. It is as if this man was saying, God s presence is real! I have sat here for years, begging for help, but I never experienced anything like this. He has stirred my soul beyond anything I ve ever known!" We see also that all the people came to see what had happened (3:11). When God reveals His glory in power, the response will not be trifling. The greatness of His power demands the attention of everyone around. We are all hungry for the touch of God in our lives. Believers and nonbelievers alike are hurting today, wandering like sheep without a shepherd, hungering for what is real. So when God s glory manifests, bringing newness of life, it draws the attention of all, not just a few. All the people [were] utterly astounded (3:11). When the people saw that the beggar was healed, they marveled, Nothing we know compares to this. Surely God is in this place! Let me ask: Do you want more from your life in God? Do you want His glory to come into your home, your marriage, your children s lives, and transform things so that all are astounded? Guess what that is what God wants! He wants you to be astounded by His glory and transformed by it. And He wants the world around you to be amazed as His glorious power brings new life to situations where defeat has been the rule.

MIRACLES A HEART OF PURPOSE by Nicky Cruz We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! Psalm 20:5 NKJV Read: Ephesians 1:13-14 When God redeems His people, He does so much more than save us; He restores us. Whatever Satan has stolen, God gives back. Whatever time we ve lost to sin, He reclaims through love. The wounds inflicted upon us by the world are healed by His wonderful grace. This is the Jesus we worship the Savior who died so that we can live! This is the message we bring to a world still bound by sin. This is the only testimony worth telling the only thing that really matters! How can we not shout it from the rooftops? How can we ever slip into moments of apathy after all that God has done for us? How can we not live with uninhabited passion and zeal, knowing what we know, understanding what we understand about Satan and his lies, after experiencing the unconditional forgiveness that Jesus brings? How can any man keep silent? Since the day Jesus came into my heart, my obsession in life has been to save lost souls! At that moment, Jesus burned into my heart a soul obsession a blazing passion for those in need of a Savior. It is a fire that has never waned, never tired, never relented. It is the blood that runs through my veins that drives me forward, day after day, month after month, year after glorious year. My heart bursts with the message of God s love and faithfulness, and all I want to do is share that truth with others! Someone once asked me, What is the greatest miracle you ve ever seen? I didn t even have to stop and think before answering, When God reaches into a heart of sin and replaces it with love that is God s greatest miracle. I see it happen every day, and each time it is as real and powerful to me as the day I experienced it myself.

Psalm 33:20 NKJV Read: Psalm 18 You may be in the middle of a miracle right now and simply not see it. It may be that you are waiting for a miracle. You re discouraged because things seem to be at a standstill. You do not see any evidence of God s supernatural work on your behalf. Consider what David says in Psalm 18: In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured. He bowed the heavens also, and came down. The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice He sent out his arrows he shot out lightnings (Psalm18:6-9, 13-14). You have to realize, none of these things literally happened. It was all something that David saw in His spiritual eye. Beloved, that is faith. It s when you believe God has heard your cry, that He hasn t delayed, that He isn t ignoring your petition. Instead, He quietly began your miracle immediately when you prayed, and even now He s doing supernatural work on your behalf. That is truly believing in miracles, His marvelous progressive work in our lives. David understood the foundational truth beneath it all: He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me (Psalm 18:19). David declared, I know why the Lord is doing all this for me. It s because He delights in me. I truly believe in instantaneous miracles. God is still working glorious, instant wonders in the world today. In Matthew 16:9-11 and Mark 8:19-21, as Jesus reminds the disciples of the miraculous feeding of the 5,000 and the 4,000, He is asking them and us to take note of His progressive miracles and their role in our own lives today.

MIRACLES GOD HAS UNLIMITED RESOURCES by Gary Wilkerson But with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles. 2 Chronicles 32:8 NKJV Read: 2 Kings 4:1-7 When her husband died, a poor widow was left in a frightening situation with two children to support. Unable to meet her obligations, she was threatened by creditors. This woman was desperate and she appealed to Elisha: "Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, 'Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord, but the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves'" (2 Kings 4:1, ESV). Perhaps you have reasoned in your own dilemma, "If I don't have a breakthrough soon, it's over. I need a miracle just to survive." I picture this widow having those very thoughts. Elisha asked her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?" (4:2, NKJV). He was not asking her to sell her valuables for cash; actually, she didn't have any valuables left. Elisha was saying, in essence, "God can meet you just as you are. If you have faith, He can multiply even the smallest thing you have." The widow answered, "All I have is one jar of oil." We know from Scripture that oil represents God's blessing and provision. At this point Elisha gave her a strange instruction: "Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don't ask for just a few" (4:3, NIV). She did as the prophet instructed. Then Elisha said, "Then go inside and shut the door behind you.... Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side" (4:4, NIV). Once more she followed Elisha's word. As she poured oil from her own jar, it filled a borrowed jar. The same thing happened again as the next borrowed jar was also filled. It happened again with the next. And the next. There was an endless supply of oil! Here is the point: When God tells us He has our needed supply, it is not just a meager amount. God has everything we need. His ability to meet our situation is endless.

So many of us are tired from religion without power. We exhaust ourselves with books, studies and seminars, constantly filling our brains with more teaching. Yet our souls are weighed down when our head knowledge of Jesus glorious works doesn t match our experience of them. How different would life be if we lived out the miracles of the first-century church every day, everywhere we go, with everyone we meet? Paul says those who are in Christ Jesus ought to walk even as he walked. The question then is how? When the disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith, He didn t say yes or no to their request. Instead He said, If you had faith even as small as a tiny seed, you would say to this mountain Be moved and it would. Evidently, the disciples didn t need more faith; they needed to act on the faith they had. And if they had just a little, they would see miracles. Jesus gives us the same practical command today: You ve been granted faith. Now go and act on it. Friend, tell everyone you can that Jesus loves them. Pray for the sick every opportunity you have. You will begin to see miracles. When we step out in faith believing Christ s miracle-working power, darkness will succumb to the light. Evil flees from the good works done in His name, and His kingdom will overcome. PO BOX 260 LINDALE TX
