1 The Heavens Declare The Glory of God Prophets Russ and Kitty Walden Introduction: As the network and social media frenzy over the eclipse has heightened in the last many days, I determined that I would not contribute to the dissonance of voices, each lauding their theory or inspired opinion about what the eclipse might or might not mean. Some have suggested the eclipse is a bringer of cataclysm, rioting in the streets, earthquake and apocalypse. Others on the contrary see the eclipse as the herald of a coming new age, utopian evolutionary shift. I was reminded of David who said in Psalm 131:1 that he would not exercise himself in matters too great for him. Having no opinion is a way of life for me, and it keeps me (most of the time) from showing my ignorance of things in which I am at times ill informed. That decision was to be redirected through an experience I had in prayer. On the 16 th of August, my wife Kitty and I were in early morning prayer as we do every morning and the Lord showed me an image of a total eclipse. Now what do I mean that the Lord showed me something? Sometimes that cast of statement is offensive to people who are not familiar with such experiences. To say I heard from God is very conversational to me and has been most of my life. For years in my adolescence, I heard the voice of God audibly on a regular basis. The acoustic of that voice in my adulthood are more internal and much more nuanced, but still resident in my heart nonetheless. I am comfortable being on speaking terms with my Father and so should you be. So, in saying God showed me something, I mean that on the internal panels of my imagination, an image of the eclipse appeared on a field of total darkness, with the moon in the center and a blazing corona of fire from the sun around its circumference. Bow there are many images that come to a person's mind throughout the day and even in the night seasons. The introduction of this particular image to me, however was of a character that for me identified it as originating not in the random imageries of my own thinking, but rather something

2 God himself was drawing my attention to. As I pondered the picture before me, the Lord said this to me: THIS IS THE SUN CLOTHED WOMAN! Obviously, I recognized the reference to Revelations chapter 12 depicting in a vision a woman suspended in the heavens clothed with the sun and the moon at her feet. The Sun Clothed Woman of Revelation 12: The reference in Revelations 12 is regarding John seeing a woman appear with 12 stars above her head and the moon at her feet with the glory of the sun

3 appearing as clothing. She is also seen to be pregnant and there is a dragon present seeking to overthrow her in some way: [Rev 12:2-5 KJV] 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and [to] his throne. I knew from my own biblical studies, that the moon represents the church in the sun represents the glory of God. In Gen. 37 we find Joseph has dreamed a dream that for us reveals that the moon is a type of the bride of Christ: [Gen 37:9-10 KJV] 9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. 10 And he told [it] to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What [is] this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? Jacob understood that the moon represented Rachel and the sun represented himself. Jacob and Rachel are an extension of what Abraham and Sarah represent as the bridegroom and the bride of Christ. Abraham is the father of the faithful and Sarah is the mother of the same. Galatians 4:26 indicates that the church is the Jerusalem from above, which is the mother of us all. Making the connections then we see that the moon speaks to us of the church. This makes sense because the moon is that body in the heavens that does not originate its own light but rather reflects the light of the greater glory of the sun which speaks to us of God Himself.

4 Jesus is the Light of the World We are the Light of the World in Him! In Matt. 5:14 Jesus said that we as the community of the redeemed are the light of the world shining in darkness. What light are we? Is the light of the gospel originating in us? Carl Marx thought so, as he claimed that religion was the selfengendered opiate of the masses. We understand that first and foremost as Jesus said in John 8:12 that HE is the light of the world given that we should not walk in darkness: [Jhn 8:12 KJV] 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. This reference to not walking in darkness speaks to us of not walking on a moonless night but walking under a full moon with the reflection off the moon from the sun shining down upon our path. Jesus wasn t comparing Himself with the moon but rather with the sun whose light the moon reflects as 2 Peter 1:19 confirms for us and identified to us Jesus as the day star which is the sun. This woman therefore in Revelation is standing on the moon because that is the heavenly body which represents her as the church and she is clothed with the glory of the sun which is the glory of God in Christ. Again, this light that we are as the church is not as though we have originating in ourselves, rather we are reflecting the glory of God as the moon only shines in that it reflects the light of the sun in whose orbit it serves. Therefore, understanding that the moon represents the church and the sun represents the glory of God, then a total eclipse of the sun is a perfect picture of a woman (the church) closed with the sun (the glory of God).

5 The Eclipse a Message to America: On Monday August 21 st the total eclipse of the sun by the moon will pass in a trajectory that completely spans the United States from the Pacific to the Atlantic. A total eclipse is only specific to a particular path or swath of land as this shadow races over the earth between 1500 and 2400 MPH depending on where you would be located at the time making the measurement. The path of totality as it is called is only about 70 miles wide. Outside that path the eclipse is only partial or far enough away from the path of totality you would see no eclipse whatsoever. If therefore God is saying something to us in an eclipse that message would apply primarily if not exclusively to the nation located within the widest path of totality. For instance when the sun was eclipsed at Jesus crucifixion the message was to the city of Jerusalem and the land of Judea: [Luk 23:45 KJV] 45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. What did that mean? That meant that the dispensation of the law was at its terminus. The dwelling place of God was no longer in the Holy of Holies (a wider discussion) but in the temple of men s hearts. The nation of Israel and the people of the Jews were no longer the exclusive people with whom God dealt but now salvation would be to all men. The eclipse in this case then was a message then, signaling the end of something and the beginning of something else. If the path of totality is a message specific to the nation affected by it and the 2017 eclipse is centered in the United States it follows then that this is an implied message from God to our that is nation that something is ending and something else is beginning. What might that be and how do we find it out? In considering the eclipse as a astronomical (notice I didn t say astrological which is something else altogether) the eclipse is an astronomical event with an eschatological message. We then realize that God speaks through astronomy. This is clearly indicated in Genesis 1:14

6 [Gen 1:14 KJV] 14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: Some Christians resist the idea of God speaking other than through the bible but in the bible, itself the reality of God speaking in nature and specifically through astronomy is very plainly established. [Psa 19:1 KJV] 1 [[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.]] The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. [Rom 1:20 KJV] 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, [even] his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: This is called natural theology and has been around for a long time. If God is saying something through astronomy and specifically the 2017 eclipse, there should therefore be found a word of confirmation. 2 Cor. 13:1 tells us in the mouth of two or three witnesses let everything be established. Is there a second astronomical event that will be present at or around the time of the eclipse that we might make note of? Just one event such as the eclipse could easily be dismissed as important or not important but if there is a comparative event at or around the same time then we would be compelled even if at first skeptical to give this some more thought. The Message of God is in the Bible AND the Heavens: In the heavens, there are recognized 88 constellations, 12 of which are in the Greek Zodiac. Now in mentioning the great zodiac we are in no way trying to validate the horoscope section of the daily paper. The Greek zodiac actually originated in the Hebrew mazzaroth that is actually mentioned in the Bible in the book of Job: [Job okay 38:32 KJV] 32 Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

7 There is in fact specific reference to the seven churches in the Hebrew mazzaroth also in the book of Psalms that speaks of the star formation Pleiades otherwise known as the seven sisters: [Job 9:9 KJV] 9 Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south. [Job 38:31 KJV] 31 Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? The mention of Arcturus in conjunction with Pleiades is not coincidental. Many have believed through the centuries that Arcturus led the wise men to the birth place of Jesus. Arcturus is also known as the Great Keeper, or Night Watcher as a type of Jesus our Great Shepherd. Pleiades is located in the Taurus constellation that is not a mythical Taurian bull of mythology but rather a sacrificial animal and servant in the Hebrew Mazzaroth representing the Messiah the Lord Jesus Christ. Pleiades, the Seven Sisters, a sign representing the church being located where it is in the constellation Taurus is literally from that perspective in Christ. What about Virgo, the Virgin. In every astronomical system in every culture back through time into antiquity the constellation we call Virgo is always 2 things: a star formation constituting a woman and symbolic as well as a water sign for the figure of Virgo carries a pitcher of water. Incidentally the predominate astronomical systems all begin with a Virgin and end with a Lion. The gospels quite literally proclaim the gospel of God. Virgo not only speaks to us of Mary as the mother of Jesus, but also of the church. Arcturus itself is a sign pointing to the bridegroom and the bride although until recently it was not known that this star was not only one of the brightest stars in the night sky excluding the planets but also it is a binary star two stars so close together that as the bridegroom and the bride we cannot tell where one leaves off and the other takes up.

8 Virgo as a Type of the Bride of Christ: What can we say of Virgo as a sign of the bride of Christ? She is a woman in the timeline revealed in the sky a type of the church. However, there is on October 23 rd at 10:11 in the morning an aligning of Virgo with the moon and the sun that astronomers say that by the calculus of our star systems can only occur once every 7000 years. Now you have to get that down in your spirit because we are right now crossing into the 3 rd millennia from the resurrection and the 7 th 1000 year period from the creation of the world. Whatever you believe about evolution and the age of the earth and the universe it is more than interesting that anthropologists tell us that recorded history only reaches back 6000 years. Everything before that is speculation. I suggest to you that in the time clock of the stars God put a countdown in motion on the day he put Adam and Eve in the garden that will time out at 10:11 a.m. in the morning on September 23. September 23 is also marked by the assassination of Gadiliah who was the Babylonlian administrator over the southern kingdom of Judah after Jerusalem and the temple was destroyed. It doesn t mark the end of Babylon but it did mark the end of Babylonian administration of the kingdom of Judah. September 23 is also the Shabbat Shuva which means the Sabbath of Return in Jewish traditions. Shabbat Shuva is immediately after the conclusion of the feast of Trumpets. In other words the trumpet of God sounds on September and the immediate response in Jewish tradition is a call for RETURN and REPENTANCE. 9 There is then a conjunction between Jewish festival days established in the time of Moses and the inexplicable synchronization of astronomer events that represent a woman, clothed with the sun with 12 stars on her head and the moon at her feet. At this time, you see (on September 23 rd ), in the constellation Virgo if viewed from Jerusalem will have 12 stars above her head (normally only 9) and the moon will be under the feet of Virgo and the sun will be passing through the middle of her specifically her left shoulder. As Revelations 12 declares there does appear a woman, clothed with the sun, with the moon at her feet and 12 stars over her head. If this was an annual or even an occasional event we wouldn t put much significance into it but the last time this happened, Adam and Eve were walking with God in the cool of the day in a state of pristine innocence! The Meaning of All This: What is God saying? What do these signs mean? If you count the days between the sun clothed woman typified by the eclipse on August 21 st you will find they number 34. Remember in Revelation 12 that the woman when she appears is doing something or better said, something is happening to her. What is it? [Rev 12:2 KJV] 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. In other words, when this woman appears she is already in labor. Something is already in the process of happening. Am I saying she was in labor 34 days? No but lets consider the number 34. In Hebrew, the number 34 is made up of 2 Hebrew words meaning AUTHORITY and DOOR. Now who has the authority, and who is the door? Author Stephen Jones connects this number with identity in Christ because the authority to open a door is establish by announcing one s identity. The Hebrew compound word making up the number 34 is LAMED DALETH. Stephen Jones writes: The number thirty-four in Hebrew was written with the letters lamed (authority) and daleth (a door). It has to do with the authority to walk through the door or to enter a house. One may

10 lawfully enter after one has identified himself. And so thirty-four is the number of identification. Author of the book Biblical Mathmatics, Ed Vallowe suggests that 34 is a number symbolic of the naming of a son. When we look in Revelations 12 what son is named and what door is opened? [Rev 12:2, 5 KJV] 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and [to] his throne. That man child is known or is named named in Rev. 2:26-29 as the overcomer. [Rev 2:27-29 KJV] 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. 28 And I will give him the morning star. 29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Conclusion: What can we take away with us from this study? 1. We need to shake ourselves from all the spiritual naval gazing that the church has engaged in in recent decades and one again orient ourselves to the soon coming of Christ. Peter spoke by the inspiration of the Spirit in the scriptures that we maintain to be our infallible guide, saying: [2Pe 3:12 KJV] 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Jesus said 3 times in the book of Revelations (Rev. 3:11; 22:7; 22:12) Behold I come quickly! and it s been 2000 years! I ve actually hear evangelical scholars and teachers say with a straight face that Jesus was mistaken, He only thought He would be coming quickly. Let me as you at

11 the time He said this to the 7 churches, the 7 sisters of Pleiades did His words hold the weight and authority of the King of kings and Lord of Lords? Has 2000 years of history diluted the authority of this command or the authority of the one that spoke it? 2. Gen. 1:14 tells us that the stars and constellations are for signs and for seasons. Psa. 19:1 says the heavens declare the glory of God. Read with me Matthew 16:3: [Mat 16:3 KJV] 3 And in the morning, [It will be] foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O [ye] hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not [discern] the signs of the times? What Jesus is saying to the Pharisees is you can look up and know what the weather is going to be why can t you look up and discern the signs of Gen. 1:14 and know where we are going and what is happening? 3. We are in a transition season. We are in or moving now into a gap time between the church age and the millennium. What are we to do? Run up our credit cards and leave our debts to the anti-christ? In 1988 when Edgar Whisenant claimed Jesus would come back between Sept , 1988, there were mainline, evangelical, full gospel churches and leaders who were foolishly making such statements. The preaching of the coming of Christ has fell into such disregard that it has been marginalized in our pulpits almost to the point of eliminating it altogether. It is time for men and women who love the Lord and love this book and love His appearing to take their BIBLE BACK and lay hold of a promise that has implications for us no matter what season we are in. We are in this world but not of it. We are sojourners, ambassadors in an alien environment commissioned by God to TAKE territory and as Luke 19:13 charges us OCCUPY till HE COMES. Rev. 22:20 Even so COME Lord Jesus!
