1 # 2 The Soft Side of Satan By Dr. Stephen R. Phinney A LITTLE HISTORY I tend to be a simpleminded man. When it comes to understanding the times, I look more to the obvious, first, and then begin my research and biblical study from what God and His enemy have already established in and on the earth. This is why I would like to direct your attention to the most Holy hill on the face of the earth, which not only houses the original Holy Temple place of God (Temple Jerusalem), but is home to the Dome of the Rock (Muslim). This obvious reveal characterizes the two primary groups who will fight for controlling rights of the end-times. The first group (Jewish/Christian) are direct descendants of Isaac. The second group (Muslims) are descendants of Ishmael. This Holy place is divided into four groups - the Four Quarters of the Old City. It is all clearly documented in past and present history. These quarters are prophetic in understanding who the final players will be in the final battle. The quadrants are: 1. Muslim Quarter Muslim race 2. Christian Quarter members of the nation of Catholicism 3. Armenian Quarter Turkish and (Indo-European) races 4. Jewish Quarter sons of David, Christians/Jews Please take special notice of these groups. Most would place the born-again Christian in the Christian Quarter. In actuality, this quarter is completely run and controlled by the nation of Catholicism the Roman State Catholic Church. This is why the Catholic Church does not support the Protestant Church, which traditionally believes in the born-again, indwelt, and grafted into Christ experience. True indwelt Christians are represented under the Jewish Quarter. The reason for this is Christians are grafted into the body of the pure bloodline of Isaac (the Jews) through Christ Jesus (Romans 11:17-24). Each of these groups also represent a nation, or collective groups of nations the Muslim Quarter (all Islamic Sunni-based nations), the Christian Quarter (all nations run by the Vatican), the Armenian Quarter (all Islamic Shiabased nations), and the Jewish Quarter (the only Jewish nation - Israel). The reason we see in the daily news the Sunni fighting the Shia is due to the fact just disclosed. Each are fighting to be the primary leader of the hill, or using their words - the true Islamic bloodline of Ishmael true Muslim. These are the radical groups and religions that are preparing / setting up for the second half of the reign of the Antichrist. The other two groups fighting for control are the Roman State Church and the Jews/Christians. It is through these two groups that the emergent universal peace-loving one world religion will be formed; thus,

2 supporting the first 3 ½ years of the tribulation, which will be peace, peace but no peace (Jer. 6:14). In fact, on November 11, 2014, the new Pope announced that the Catholic Church will head-up the new One World Religion. Over 300 denominations, ministries, and Jewish synagogues have become members after attending their first meeting. After there is a joining, merging, or partnership between the fighting Muslims and God separates the true indwelt Christians from the universal church, the Quarters will be reduced to three primary groups to fight for the hill: the Muslims, the Universal Church, and the True Body of Christ. This is why God will literally divide Jerusalem into three sections of land through a mighty earthquake. And there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of His fierce wrath (Rev. 16:18-19). IN THE BEGINNING: It would behoove us to go back to the beginning of this tragic story and review how it all started. Step One: Satan was a perfect and anointed cherub You were the anointed cherub who covers, and I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; you walked in the midst of the stones of fire. You were blameless (KJV - perfect) in your ways from the day you were created, until unrighteousness was found in you (Ez. 28:14-15). Satan did not start out as Satan; he started out as Lucifer the angel of light and perfection of God. His position in Heaven was significant and one of covering the throne of God with his wings - he simply was God s covering of light. It is also known that he was responsible for praise and worship unto the living God - he and a third of the entire group of heavenly angels. Step Two: Satan was thrown down to a formless planet Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor (KJV - brightness); I will cast you to the ground; I will put you before kings, that they may see you (Ez. 28:17). Try to picture God creating total darkness - no light (solar systems). God also created a formless (lifeless) planet to cage Lucifer. God renamed Lucifer, Satan - meaning adversary of God, accuser, prince of darkness, superhuman. This angel of light was/is now in utter darkness, stripped of his Shekinah light, and left devoid of God (light and life). This was all for the strict purpose of revealing him before the kings and children of God. For God knew the greatest punishment would be to subject him to mankind - the Bride of Christ - whom he hated. Step Three: God breathes life into this formless planet In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the

3 surface of the waters. Then God said, Let there be light ; and there was light. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day (Gen 1:1-5). Imagine this: A being, who was once the light covering of the living God, is now placed in subjection to light. God places lights in the heavens (stars), which were put in place to number the descendants of Abraham. We need to see that God had a plan from the very beginning to not only punish Satan, but to build the Holy dwelling temple of the Holy Spirit the Bride of Christ (Indwelt Believers). Also know that His statement, God separated the light from the darkness, was communicating to Satan that He was separating Himself as God from him, who is now the prince of darkness. This is why after all is said and done, God will cast Satan and the descendants of Ishmael into outer darkness, while the descendants of Isaac (Jews and grafted in Christians) will live in light and life for eternity. " I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth " (Matt 8:11-12). Please take special note that Jesus said, with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob - not the sons of Abraham s illegitimate son Ishmael (Muslim). The sons of Satan s kingdom not only include the descendants of Ishmael, but also those who refuse the only way back to the Father of Light that of Jesus. Satan started out in darkness, on a formless (lifeless) planet. When God is done separating the goats from the sheep and gains a Bride for His Son, He will rapture His Son s Bride, strip the earth of life, turn out all the lights in the heavens, and toss this planet into outer darkness. For those who are Reconstructionists (those who work to restore the earth back to its pre-fall state), there is no way they will believe this outside of a special revelation from the Holy Spirit. Step Four: God creates the future Bride of Christ Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth (Gen. 1:26-28). What could be more offensive to Satan than for God to create the Bride of Christ; place her in his (Satan s) dwelling place; temporarily defeat Satan; and discovering that God has victory and rule over him? Nothing! Nothing could be worse for a being who thought he was big enough to take the throne from the eternal God of the universe - nothing! Please don t forget to connect the dots regarding this passage with the promise to Abraham. God s statement of being fruitful and multiplying is directly connected to God saying this to Abraham: Indeed I will greatly bless you (Abraham), and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess

4 the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice" (Gen 22:17-18). God s reason for full creation is packaged in this one single passage - His formation of a formless planet (cage of Satan), stars (light of descendants of Abraham), water (flood, washing of sins), vegetation (fruit of the Spirit), seashores (seed numbered as sand), and man (Bride of Christ). Creation is literally setting us up for the Great War between the brothers, Ishmael and Isaac. Step Five: God plants a garden and places Satan and man in it The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed (Gen 2:8). "You (king of Tyre, Satan) were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the ruby, the topaz and the diamond; the beryl, the onyx and the jasper; the lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; and the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, was in you. On the day that you were created they were prepared (Ez. 28:13). Why would God place man and Satan in the same confined area to cohabitate? It is almost like God is getting ready to pick a fight with Satan. Good news, He is! God is about to show him what he (Satan) means for evil, He means for good (Gen. 50:20). Many imagine Satan to look like the common artistic depictions we ve all seen mean-looking, horned, holding a pitchfork, with fire all around him. Those who believe that Satan looks anything like this are fully deceived and uneducated as to how he really appears before man and God. God clearly describes him as an angel of light and then goes on to compare him to the most precious stones of Heaven. In fact, God even reveals in the above passage that Satan was created and prepared with such attributes. Why? Well, if you read the end-times facts about this up and coming Antichrist, you will discover that he will be so attractive, that he will draw the entire world unto himself. Plus, since Jesus was unbecoming in appearance, Satan will come in as a distinctive opposite image of Him. God has set the stage for what seems to be a long drawn out battle for humans, but it will really only be a seven day battle. Keep in mind that a thousand years is one day to the Lord. But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day (2 Peter 3:8). Not only should we not let one fact escape our notice, we need to keep things in God s perspective. It only took a matter of days for Satan to rise up against the Almighty; be cast down to a formless planet; be placed under the feet of the Bride of Christ; be completely made devoid of power and strength; be punished and cast into outer darkness, in order to know that God (the Father, Son, Holy Spirit), Bride of Christ, and the eternal angels live on in victory forever and ever all from a single choice - one from Satan and one from God. Step Six: God starts the lineage of right and wrong Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, I have gotten a manchild with the help of the LORD. Again, she gave birth to

5 his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground (Gen 4:1-2). There are two key elements to embrace here. Cain, being the firstborn, was the tiller of the ground. Keep in mind that after Adam and Eve chose to sin, the primary consequence was that Adam s seed became filled with sin and corrupt. Secondly, the ground became cursed by God. Being the tiller of the ground put Cain in double jeopardy 1) he had sin within him, and 2) what he was responsible for (the ground) had sin in it. Whatever has sin in it, will produce the fruit of sin. However, Abel came from a position of sin being within him. But sin was not in the flocks that he was called to keep, including their fat. Remember that the fat belongs to the Lord. 'The priest shall offer them up in smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire for a soothing aroma; all fat is the LORD'S (Lev. 3:16). We have a clear perspective of what happened in the following passage: But for Cain and for his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his countenance fell. Then the LORD said to Cain, Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it. Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him (Gen. 4:5-8). In keeping apples with apples, when it came to Cain and his offering, the Lord had no regard for the sin (Satan). As for Abel, he was giving to God one of His most precious offerings, the fat of the lamb (Christ). It is not that God was against Cain, but what He did have against him was his attitude (anger) for doing what he was asked. If we translate this out properly, the result would read: If you do not do well (submissive attitude), sin (Satan) is crouching at the door, and its (Satan s) desire is for you, but you must master it (him). The result of all this was God setting into motion two paths by our first set of two brothers the path that leads to sin and death, and the path that leads to life and life abundantly. Another one of Adam and Eve s sons (Seth) chose obedience and thus, produced the descendants of Seth. The other son (Cain) chose disobedience and started the lineage of the descendants of Cain. Step Seven: God washes the earth of its sin "Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark--you and your sons and your wife, and your sons' wives with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female (Gen. 6:17-19). This act of God is demonstrates His first eternal covenant, for those who choose righteousness. The fact that He used water is no accident water is the primary symbol of cleansing and

6 washing away the flesh through the Word (personhood and book). Interesting note: Noah was the only surviving descendant of Seth who maintained purity. This does not mean his sons were of the same security and covenant. In fact, after God parked the Ark on the hillside of Turkey, the story of the brothers started all over again. Ham decided to view his father s naked body and disrobed his father s dignity an act Satan committed in Heaven by pulling his wings away in an attempt to uncover God. Big no-no! This resulted in the re-activation of the curse. Step Eight: God establishes two paths (Hebrew and Gentile) Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it upon both their shoulders and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were turned away, so that they did not see their father's nakedness. When Noah awoke from his wine, he knew what his youngest son had done to him. So he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants he shall be to his brothers. He also said, Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem; and let Canaan be his servant. May God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his servant " (Gen. 9:22-27). This simple passage is one of our most significant reveals in the story of the Muslim brotherhood. If you re not a historical timeline reader, I probably lost you back in the Introduction. But if you are like most of us history buffs, you see that things are starting to get really exciting. We discover in our passage that when Noah (who was the symbol of the Father) came out of his tent after discovering what his youngest son (Ham/Canaan - who is paralleled by Jesus as the prodigal son) had done - the curse was reactivated. What this means is all the descendants of Ham (Muslim) are required to serve the descendants of Shem (Jewish). Did you get that? Yes, the Muslims are required, by God, to serve the Jewish people! The bad news is that Ham refused to serve Shem and took off towards the southeast, to a region we know today as Iraq old Babylon. Ham s grandson, Nimrod, built the entire Middle East foundation that established some of the most ungodly cultures, cities, and nations in the entire world. You know the story - the Tower of Babel. Nimrod built a huge empire, including a tower that rose up against the knowledge of God, which caught God s attention. God placed different tongues (languages) in the mouths of the people, and then scattered them like ants. This is how our nations of defiance were formed. One in particular that will come into play with our Ishmael and Isaac story is Egypt. We will discuss this more later, but the quick version is Abraham had sexual relations with a servant who just happened to be of the lineage of Ham, the daughter of Egypt ouch. One of Ham s grandsons who survived this rebel group was Casluhim, from whom the Philistines came. This name should remind you of one of the greatest stories in the Bible. David, from the lineage of Shem, came to battle the Philistine giant, Goliath. We know how that story turned out victory for David! Regarding the issue of Ham s descendants serving those of Shem, keep your eyes on the news, as that day is coming. As for Japheth s descendants living in the tents of Shem this not only stayed intact up through Abraham, it is what privileged the Gentiles to be grafted into the Jewish lineage through Christ, particularly through Paul s ministry. Step Nine: the two final paths (Ishmael and Isaac)

7 He (the angel of the Lord) said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, where have you come from and where are you going? And she said, I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai. Then the angel of the LORD said to her, Return to your mistress, and submit yourself to her authority. Moreover, the angel of the LORD said to her, I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they will be too many to count. The angel of the LORD said to her further, Behold, you are with child, and you will bear a son; and you shall call his name Ishmael, because the LORD has given heed to your affliction. He will be a wild donkey of a man, his hand will be against everyone, and everyone's hand will be against him; and he will live to the east of all his brothers " (Gen. 16:8-12). Hagar was the daughter of Egypt, which makes her a descendant of Ham. She was Sarai s maid servant. Since God promised Abraham that his descendants would be as the number of the stars, the promise extended to Hagar s firstborn son, Ishmael. In fact, the number of descendants who would come from this child would multiply so fast, they would be too great to number. Many do not know this, but the Muslim race is still to this day the most populous race. It is their method of madness used to consume and dominate the world. The Caliph, within the religion of Islam, states that when their people reach 30% of a country s populous, the Muslim members are granted permission to take over the country. In the Hebrew, Ishmael means God hears, wild donkey, or man of anger. If we view Muslims in our modern day culture, we will see that to this day, they are wild and stubborn as donkeys. They are against everyone, and everyone is against them. God even told Hagar that they (Ishmael and his descendants the Muslims) will live east of all his brothers. As it turns out, the Muslim race is bred from nations East of Israel Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Jordon. Each of these countries is of utmost threat to Israel, on a daily basis, and America continues to fight for her in mini-wars within each of these territories. Again, God is right and means what He says. Step Ten: Ishmael goes to Arabia (modern day Saudi Arabia) and Isaac continues on to Canaan (modern day Israel) Now the LORD said to Abram, Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father's house, to the land which I will show you; and I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed. So Abram went forth as the LORD had spoken to him; and Lot went with him. Now Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his nephew, and all their possessions which they had accumulated, and the persons which they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan; thus they came to the land of Canaan (Gen. 12:1-5). God heard the lad (Ishmael) crying; and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, What is the matter with you, Hagar? Do not fear, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him by the hand, for I will make a great nation of him. Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water; and she went and filled the skin with water and gave the lad a drink. God was with the lad, and he grew; and he lived in the wilderness and became an archer. He lived in the wilderness of Paran (northern Arabia), and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Egypt (Gen. 21:17-21).
