(2:1-3) 9. God prepared the earth for man and formed him from the dust of the ground. (2:4-7) 10. God made the garden of Eden and placed man there. (2:8-17) 11. God made woman to help man. (2:18-25) 12. The serpent tempted woman so that she ate the forbidden fruit and tempted man to eat of it also. (3:1-6) 13. Man s and woman s eyes were opened and they hid from God, knowing they were naked. (3:7-13) 14. Consequence of sin. (3:14-21) 15. God sent Adam and Eve from the garden. (3:22-24) 16. Eve gave birth to Cain and Abel, and Cain slew Abel. (4:1-8) 17. God punished Cain. (4:9-15) 18. Lineage of Cain. (4:16-24) 19. Adam begat Seth and Seth begat Enos. (4:25-26) 20. Generations of Adam. (5:1-32) 21. Sons of God married daughters of men. (6:1-4) 22. Man became so wicked that God decided to destroy him, except for Noah, who found grace in His eyes. (6:5-8) 23. Noah was faithful and walked with God, but all other flesh was corrupt and would be destroyed. (6:9-13) 24. God told Noah to make an ark for safety from the flood that would destroy all flesh. (6:14-22) 25. God told Noah to enter the ark. (7:1-10) 26. The flood. (7:11-24) 27. Waters assuaged and the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat. (8:1-5) 28. The earth dried. (8:6-14) 29. Noah left the ark. (8:15-19) 30. Noah made an offering to God. (8:20) 31. God accepted the offering and said that He would never again curse the ground and smite every living thing. (8:21-22) 32. God blessed Noah and gave man every living thing to eat, except the blood thereof. (9:1-4) 33. Man was not to kill man. (9:5-6) 34. Man was to multiply. (9:7) 35. God set His bow in the cloud as a sign of His covenant never again to destroy all flesh with a flood. (9:8-17) 1
2 36. Earth was to be populated from Noah s three sons. (9:18-19) 37. Noah cursed Canaan, son of Ham, but blessed Shem and Japheth. (9:20-27) 38. Noah died. (9:28-29) 39. Generations of Noah s sons. (10:1-32) 40. The people had a mind to stay in one place, so God confounded their language and scattered them over all the earth. (11:1-9) 41. Generations from Shem to Abram. (11:10-32) 42. Abram obeyed God, left Haran, and went into the land of Canaan. (12:1-9) 43. Abram went into Egypt because of the famine in Canaan. (12:10-20) 44. Abram returned to Canaan. (13:1-4) 45. Abram and Lot separated. (13:5-13) 46. Abram moved to Hebron. (13:14-18) 47. Lot was taken captive. (14:1-12) 48. Abram rescued Lot. (14:13-16) 49. Melchizedek blessed Abram. (14:17-24) 50. God promised Abram that hi seed would be many. (15:1-6) 51. God repeated His land promise to Abram, but said that his seed would be in bondage first. (15:7-21) 52. Sarai gave Abram her handmaid, Hagar, to be his wife. (16:1-3) 53. Hagar conceived and thus despised Sarai, so Sarai dealt harshly with her. (16:4-6) 54. An angel told Hagar that she would bear a son, Ishmael. (16:7-14) 55. Ishmael was born. (16:15-16) 56. God changed Abram s name to Abraham. (17:1-8) 57. Covenant of circumcision. (17:9-14) 58. God changed Sarai s name to Sarah and said that she would have a son, Isaac. (17:15-22) 59. Abraham circumcised all the males of his household. (17:23-27) 60. God visited Abraham through three angels and told him and Sarah that they would have a son. (18:1-15) 61. The angels left to go to Sodom, God told of His plans for Sodom, and Abraham interceded with Him for the righteous that might be there. (18:16-33) 62. Two angels came to Sodom and stayed in Lot s house. (19:1-3) 63. The men of Sodom went to Lot s house to get the two visitors. (19:4-11) 64. The angels told Lot to leave, for they were going to destroy the city. (19:12-16) 65. Lot was told to go to the mountains, but was allowed to go to Zoar instead. (19:17-22) 66. God destroyed the plain, but Lot s wife looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. (19:23-26) 67. Abraham saw the smoke from the plain. (19:27-29) 68. Lot s two daughters had sons by him. (19:30-38) 2
3 69. Abraham deceived Abimelech in regard to Sarah (similar to his deception of Pharaoh). (20:1-18) 70. Sarah gave birth to Isaac. (21:1-8) 71. Hagar and Ishmael were cast out. (21:9-21) 72. Abraham and Abimelech made a covenant. (21:22-34) 73. God tested Abraham by asking him to offer his son Isaac. (22:1-19) 74. Abraham s brother, Nahor, had eight children and one of them had a daughter named Rebekah. (22:20-24) 75. Sarah died and Abraham bought land and buried her in Hebron. (23:1-20) 76. Abraham told his servant to go to his kindred and take a wife for Isaac from among them. (24:1-9) 77. Abraham s servant asked God to help him find the wife for Isaac. (24:10-14) 78. The servant met Rebekah, the granddaughter of Abraham s brother, Nahor. (24:15-28) 79. Rebekah s brother, Laban, went to see Abraham s servant and invited him to their house. (24:29-31) 80. The servant told the reason for his journey; and the family, including Rebekah, said that she would go with him to be Isaac s wife. (24:32-60) 81. Isaac married Rebekah. (24:61-67) 82. Abraham married Keturah and had more children. (25:1-4) 83. Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac and then he died. (25:5-10) 84. God blessed Isaac. (25:11) 85. Generations of Ishmael. (25:12-18) 86. Twins, Esau and Jacob, were born to Isaac and Rebekah, with Esau being the first. (25:19-28) 87. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob. (25:29-34) 88. There was a famine and Isaac went into the land of the Philistines where God passed to him the promises made to Abraham. (26:1-5) 89. Isaac prospered and the Philistines envied him. (26:6-16) 90. Isaac left Gerar, went to the valley of Gerar, then to Beersheba. (26:17-25) 91. Isaac and Abimelech made a covenant. (26:26-33) 92. Esau married a Hittite. (26:34-35) 93. Jacob tricked Isaac into giving him the blessing intended for Esau. (27:1-29) 94. Esau returned and he and Isaac realized what Jacob had done. (27:30-40) 95. Esau hated Jacob. (27:41-46) 96. Isaac sent Jacob to his kindred to find a wife. (28:1-5) 97. Esau married Ishmael s daughter. (28:6-9) 98. Jacob had a dream where God passed to him the promises made to Abraham and Isaac. (28:10-15) 99. Jacob made a vow that the Lord would be his God. (28:16-22) 100. Jacob met Rachel and Laban, Rebekah s brother, and went home with them. (29:1-14) 3
4 101. Jacob served Laban seven years for Rachel. (29:15-20) 102. Laban tricked Jacob and substituted Leah for Rachel, but then gave him Rachel also after seven more years of service. (29:21-30) 103. Leah had four sons (Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah). (29:31-35) 104. Rachael gave Jacob Bilhah and they had two sons (Dan and Naphtali). ( 30:1-8) 105. Leah gave Jacob Zilpah and they had two sons (Gad and Asher). (30:9-13) 106. Leah had two more sons (Issachar and Zebulun) and a daughter (Dinah). (30:14-21) 107. Rachel had a son (Joseph). (30:22-24) 108. Jacob wanted to go back home; but he had no wealth of his own, so he bargained with Laban for some livestock. (30:25-43) 109. God told Jacob to return to the land of his fathers. (31:1-3) 110. Jacob told Rachel and Leah that God told him to leave and they agreed to go. (31:4-16) 111. Jacob left Laban secretly, but Laban pursued after him. (31:17-24) 112. Laban overtook Jacob and searched for images that had been stolen, but did not find them. (31:25-35) 113. Jacob was angry and chided Laban for mistreating him. (31:36-42) 114. Jacob and Laban made a covenant. (31:43-55) 115. Jacob sent messengers to Esau and Esau, with 400 men, came to meet him; and Jacob was greatly afraid. (32:1-8) 116. Jacob asked for God s help. (32:9-12) 117. Jacob sent gifts to Esau. (32:13-23) 118. Jacob wrestled with an angel. (32:24-32) 119. Jacob and Esau met and embraced. (33:1-15) 120. Esau went to Seir and Jacob went to Succoth and Shechem.(33:16-20) 121. Shechem defiled Dinah. (34:1-5) 122. Shechem s father communed with Jacob and his sons for Dinah to be Shechem s wife. (34:6-19) 123. Every male of the city was circumcised. (34:20-24) 124. Simeon and Levi slew all the males of the city. (34:25-31) 125. God told Jacob to go to Bethe. (35:1-5) 126. Jacob came to Bethel. (35:6-8) 127. Recall is made when God said that Jacob would be Israel, a nation, and would be given the land. (35:9-15) 128. Rachel died giving birth to Benjamin on the way to Bethlehem. (35:16-20) 129. Reuben lay with Bilhah. (35:21-26) 130. Jacob returned to Hebron and Isaac died. (35:27-29) 131. Sons of Esau were born in Canaan and he moved to Mt. Seir (Edom). (36:1-8) 132. Generations of Esau. (36:9-19) 133. Sons of Seir. (36:20-30) 4
5 134. Kings in Edom before Israel had a king. (36:31-39) 135. Dukes who descended from Esau. (36:40-43) 136. Jacob loved Joseph more than his other sons and they hated Jacob because of it. (37:1-4) 137. Joseph dreamed of his brothers sheaves making obeisance to his sheaf. (37:5-8) 138. Joseph dreamed of the sun, moon, and 11 stars making obeisance to him. (37:9-11) 139. Israel sent Joseph from Hebron to Shechem to check on his brethren and the flocks. (37:12-14) 140. Joseph s brethren had moved from Shechem to Dothan, and when they saw him coming they plotted to kill him, but Reuben saved his life. (37:15-22) 141. While Reuben was away, Joseph was sold by his brethren to travelers going to Egypt, but Reuben did not know of it. (37:23-28) 142. Israel thought Joseph had been killed by an evil beast, but he was sold in Egypt to Potiphar. (37:29-36) 143. Judah had a son, Er, whom he gave Tamar for a wife - Er died and Judah gave her to his next son, Onan, who died he told Tamar to wait for his next son, Shelah. (38:1-11) 144. Judah s wife died and Tamar tricked him, playing like a harlot, and conceived a child by him. (38:12-23) 145. Judah found out that Tamar was with child and that he was the father. (38:24-26) 146. Tamar gave birth to twins. (38:27-30) 147. Joseph prospered and was overseer of Potiphar s house.(39:1-6) 148. Potiphar s wife falsely accused Joseph and he was put into prison. (39:7-20) 149. Joseph was favored by the prison keeper. (39:21-23) 150. Pharaoh s butler and baker were imprisoned with Joseph. (40:1-4) 151. The butler and baker had dreams. (40:5-8) 152. Joseph interpreted the dream of the chief butler. (40:9-15) 153. Joseph interpreted the dream of the chief baker. (40:16-19) 154. The interpretation of the dreams was fulfilled, but the chief butler forgot Joseph. (40:20-23) 155. Pharaoh had two dreams and the magicians and wise men could not interpret them. (41:1-8) 156. The chief butler remembered Joseph. (41:9-13) 157. Pharaoh sent for Joseph and told him his dreams. (41:14-24) 158. Joseph interpreted Pharaoh s dreams and advised him about what he should do. (41:25-36) 159. Pharaoh made Joseph ruler, next to him, over all Egypt and gave him a wife. (41:37-45) 160. Joseph gathered food during the plenteous years and also had two sons. (41:46-52) 161. The famine was over all countries. (41:53-57) 5
6 162. Jacob sent his sons to Egypt to buy corn. (42:1-2) 163. When Jacob s sons arrived, Joseph recognized them, but they did not know him he accused them of being spies and told them to go home and bring back their younger brother. (42:3-20) 164. Joseph kept Simeon. (42:21-24) 165. Joseph sent the nine on their way, but secretly included their money with the corn. (42:25-28) 166. The brothers told Jacob what had happened. (42:29-34) 167. The other brothers found their money with the corn and they, along with Jacob, were afraid Jacob said that Benjamin could not go back to Egypt with them. (42:35-38) 168. Because of the famine, Israel sent his sons, including Benjamin, back to Egypt. (43:1-14) 169. Joseph s brethren were taken to his house. (43:15-25) 170. Joseph came to his brethren. (43:26-34) 171. Joseph sent his brethren home with corn, and again secretly included their money, plus his silver cup in Benjamin s sack. (44:1-5) 172. Joseph s steward overtook his brethren and found the cup in Benjamin s sack. (44:6-13) 173. Joseph told his brethren that they could go home, but he was going to keep Benjamin. (44:14-17) 174. Judah offered himself as a bondman in place of Benjamin. (44:18-34) 175. Joseph made himself known to his brothers. (45:1-15) 176. Pharaoh heard of Joseph s brothers and commanded that they bring their father and dwell in Egypt. (45:16-24) 177. The brothers told Israel about Joseph and his spirit revived. (45:25-28) 178. God spoke to Jacob and he moved to Israel. (46:1-7) 179. The names of the family of Israel who lived in Egypt, including Joseph, were given. (46:8-27) 180. Israel came to Goshen. (46:28-34) 181. Joseph presented some of his brethren and Jacob to Pharaoh. (47:1-10) 182. Joseph settled his brethren and father in the best of the land. (47:11-12) 183. Joseph took all the money of the people and also bought all their land, except for that of the priests. (47:13-22) 184. Joseph had the people sow the land and give a fifth to Pharaoh, except the priests were excluded. (47:23-26) 185. It became time for Israel to die, so he had Joseph swear to bury him in the place of his fathers. (47:27-31) 186. Jacob told Joseph of God s promise. (48:1-4) 187. Jacob said that Joseph s two sons were also his and that they were to receive an inheritance. (48:5-14) 188. Jacob blessed Joseph and his two sons and said that the younger would be greater than the older. (48:15-22) 189. Jacob gathered his sons and told them what would befall their generations. (49:1-27) 6
7 190. Jacob died. (49:28-33) 191. After 40 days of mourning, Joseph asked Pharaoh if he could go to Canaan and bury Jacob. (50:1-6) 192. Jacob was buried. (50:7-13) 193. Joseph returned to Egypt. (50:14) 194. Joseph s brethren were fearful that he might do evil to them, but he comforted them instead. (50:14-21) 195. Joseph died. (50:22-26) 7
