6 Daily Schedule DAYS 1, 2, 3 Atlanta to Amman Day 1, Sept Tuesday Departure from Atlanta, Georgia on your overseas flight to Amman, Jordan. (Meals aloft) Arrive in Amman Day 2, Sept Wednesday We arrive in Amman this evening at the Queen Alia airport and transfer to the Al Fanar Hotel 1 for dinner and overnight. (Meals aloft, Dinner) Bethany, Madeba, Mt. Nebo, Amman Day 3, Sept Thursday This morning we go to Bethany and its excavated baptismal site along the Jordan River near where John the Baptist lived and baptized. From there we go to Madeba where we see the remains of the famous mosaic map of Jerusalem and Palestine, dating from the 6th A.D. We proceed to Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land, the green Jordan Valley - the Land of Milk and Honey. Then we return to our hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight. 7 Mukawir, Kerak, Petra Day 4, Sept Friday We check out of the Al Fanar Hotel 1 this morning and drive to Mukawir, also known as Machaerus. Towering above the Dead Sea and protected on three sides by deep ravines, this fortress of Herod the Great is the traditional site of the imprisonment and beheading of John the Baptist. From the top we have spectacular views of the Dead Sea and surrounding area. We then proceed south among magnificent canyons to the Crusader fortress of Kerak. Lunch is included here. From Kerak, we continue to Wadi Musa, the modern city adjacent to the archaeological site of Petra, and the Hyatt Zaman Hotel 2 for check-in. Dinner is included this evening. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) Petra Day 5, Sept Saturday Today, we visit the marvelous rose-red city of Petra. The last two miles (to and from) of the walking journey are along a winding narrow path, the Sik, between two high cliffs. The entire city of rose-colored temples and amphitheaters is carved out of the multi-hued rock of the cliffs which surround its hidden valley. You may choose to take a camel ride (at your own expense). We enjoy lunch at the famed DAYS 4 & 5 5

8 Basin Restaurant within the ancient city. This afternoon, those who wish to walk (approximately 2 miles) to the top of the 2nd-century Christian Al Adir Temple may stay in Petra. Those who prefer to return to the hotel may do so. Dinner is included this evening, with a night at the Hyatt Zaman Hotel 2. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) DAY 6 Shobak, Jerash, Sheik Hussain Bridge, Tiberias Day 6, Sept Sunday We depart our hotel this morning after breakfast and drive to Shobak where we take a brief overlook of this 12th-century Crusader castle. Then we continue north to Jerash, a city of the Decapolis that was one of the most important and bestpreserved cities in the Near East. We stop for lunch here (at your own expense). This afternoon we drive to Sheik Hussain Border Crossing located just a few miles south of the Sea of Galilee. There we leave behind our Jordanian bus and guide. We cross the border into Israel, proceeding to the Caesar Premier Hotel 3, located along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast & Dinner) 6

9 Caesarea, Bet She Arim, Megiddo, Gideon s Spring, Jordan River, Tiberias Day 7, Sept Monday Today we go to the coastal city ruins of Caesarea, ancient capital of Roman Palestine, where we see the theater, aqueduct, hippodrome (which could seat over 20,000 people), and Crusader fortress. We visit the ruins of Megiddo and see Ahab s stables and the famous water system. Then we continue across the Plain of Jezreel and see Ein Harod, also known as Gideon s Spring, where Gideon chose his warriors before fighting the Midianites. We return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight at Caesar Premier Hotel 3. (Breakfast & Dinner) Mount of Beatitudes, Caesarea Philippi, Sea of Galilee, Capernaum, Tabgha, Jesus boat, Tiberias Day 8, Sept Tuesday After a memorable visit to the Mount of Beatitudes, we travel north to the foothills of Mount Hermon and Banias (Caesarea Philippi), where Jesus said, I will build my church... We travel back through the Golan Heights past Gadara, one of the Decapolis cities. Matthew describes the miracle of Jesus delivering demon possessed men who DAYS 7 & 8 7

10 DAY 9 were of the country of the Gadarenes. A highlight of the day will be a lunch of St. Peter s fish. This afternoon we visit the ruins of ancient Capernaum where the greater part of Jesus ministry of teaching and healing took place. We see the ancient synagogue and the excavations of Peter s house. We visit Tabgha, the traditional site of the multiplication of loaves and fishes and also see the nearby Church of the Primacy of St. Peter. We drive past Magdala, home of Mary Magdalene, and stop at the Kibbutz Ginosar to see the 1st-century Jesus Boat, which was discovered in the muddy shores of the Sea of Galilee. From here, we enjoy a memorable boatride on the Sea of Galilee back to Tiberias for dinner and overnight at Kibbutz Nof Ginosar Hotel 4. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) Nazareth, Mt. Precipice, Tzipori, Bet Shean, Dead Sea Day 9 Sept Wednesday We begin our day in Nazareth, site of the boyhood of Jesus, for a visit to Mary s Well at St. Gabriel s Church, and the Church of the Annunciation, commemorating the location where Mary was visited by the Archangel Gabriel. Following our time here, we travel to Mt. Precipice for sweeping panoramic views of Nazareth and the Jezreel Valley. We continue to Tzipori, 8

11 ancient Sepphoris and traditional home of Mary, mother of Jesus. From there, we travel south to Bet She an, Israel s largest active archaeological dig site, and see the Roman theater, built in the second century. It is one of the largest and best preserved ancient theaters in the entire Middle East. We continue south through the Jordan Valley and past New Testament Jericho, believed to have been at the mouth of the Wadi Kelt, where Herod had his winter palace. Our destination this evening is the Dead Sea and the Isrotel Ganim Dead Sea Hotel 5. Enjoy the opportunity to float in the Dead Sea or indulge in a treatment at the hotel s spa, with dinner included at the hotel. (Breakfast & Dinner) Negev, Timna Park, Dead Sea Day 10, Sept Thursday This morning we drive along the southern shore of the Dead Sea, past the site of biblical Sodom. We continue through the Negev, a rocky desert that comprises more than half of Israel s land area. Our destination is Timna, site of Solomon s copper mine, dating back to ancient imperial Egypt. There are exciting finds at the Temple of Hathor near the spectacular Solomon s Pillars, the impressive Arches, and of course, the ancient rock-drawings depicting hunters of ostriches and ibexes, Egyptian battle DAY 10 9

12 DAYS 11 & 12 chariots and other images. Of special interest to us is the life-size replica of the biblical tabernacle constructed in the desert. After our visit here, we return to the Isrotel Ganim Dead Sea Hotel 5 for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast & Dinner) Masada, Ein Gedi, Qumran, Jerusalem Day 11, Sept Friday We begin today at Masada, where we ascend by cable car to visit the magnificent ruins of the fortress where Jewish defenders made the last stand of the Judean revolt against the Romans. Then we drive along the shore of the Dead Sea to the oasis of Ein Gedi, where David hid from Saul and chose to spare Saul s life. We take some time to explore the archaeological site and see the mosaic in the synagogue. Then we visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We continue up to Jerusalem, the Holy City, where we have dinner and overnight at the Prima Kings Hotel 6. (Breakfast & Dinner) Herodian, Bethlehem Day 12, Sept Saturday This morning we take an excursion south from Jerusalem to Herodian, a cone-shaped hill near Bethlehem where Herod the Great 10

13 built a fortress and palace, and where he was buried. At the base of the hill, Herod built a royal country club, including a large pool, a bathhouse, and a roofed pool, surrounded by magnificent gardens. This afternoon we travel into Bethlehem (political situation permitting) and visit the Church of the Nativity, built over the traditional site of the birth of Christ. We drive by the Field of Shepherds, where the angel announced the birth of Jesus to shepherds, and return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast & Dinner) Dead Sea Scrolls, City of David, Caiaphas Palace, Mt. Zion, Garden Tomb Day 13, Sept Sunday This morning we drive past the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament building, and visit the Shrine of the Book, which houses the original Dead Sea Scrolls. We also take some time to view the scale model of Jerusalem in the 1 st century. Then we go to the City of David, the narrow hill near the Western Wall where Jerusalem began. Here we view walls, towers, and fortifications that protected the city from enemies, pass through the water systems, see the Gihon Spring, and encounter the personalities and dwelling places of the city as reflected by archaeological discovery in DAY 13 11

14 the Bible. We continue to Caiaphas palace, where Jesus was first brought before the high priest. Then we go to Mount Zion and see the traditional Room of the Last Supper. We end our day at Gordon s Calvary and the Garden Tomb, where in an inspiring service we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. (Breakfast & Dinner) DAY 14 Western Wall, Davidson Center, Mt. of Olives, Gethsemane, Via Dolorosa, Tel Aviv Day 14, Sept Monday This morning at the Temple area we view the Western Wall. We then visit the Davidson Center, situated at the entrance to the Jerusalem Archaeological Park, one of the largest and most significant archaeological sites in the country. Nearby are the Southern Steps, leading to the original main entrance of the Temple Mount in the Second Temple period. It is certain that Jesus climbed these steps when he visited the temple in Jerusalem. Then we travel past the Hebrew University and on to the Mount of Olives. From there we walk down the traditional Palm Sunday Walk where Christ made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, stopping at the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees and the Church of All Nations. In the Old City we visit St. Anne s Church and the 12

15 Pools of Bethesda, and then we follow the Via Dolorosa seeing Pilate s Judgment Hall, where Christ was imprisoned, and concluding at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This evening we enjoy a farewell dinner together in the Old City. Later this evening we transfer to the airport for our departure flight. (Breakfast & Dinner) Return to the Atlanta Day Sept. 24 We transfer, late night, to the airport for our departure flight. (Meals aloft) We arrive back to Atlanta late afternoon on the 24th. Site and hotel itinerary policy: All sites listed in the itinerary will be covered but the sequence and days may be altered to adjust to religious holidays, special closings of sites, air schedules, etc. Hotels listed are subject to confirmation. 2. Notification on physical/mobility limitations: This tour is not recommended for those who have mobility limitations since it includes significant amounts of walking on uneven terrain. If a passenger is unable to get on and off the bus and walk without the assistance of another individual, the traveler should bring someone with them to assist them. Please note that the Americans With Disabilities Act is NOT applicable outside the USA and facilities in other countries may be sharply limited. 3. Not Included in basic tour package: Single room supplement (upgrade charge). Passport fees; excess baggage and forwarding of baggage; meals not listed as being included; lunch and dinner beverages; items of a personal nature such as laundry and travel protection plan. 4. Tour documents: The name on your air ticket must exactly match your name as it appears on your passport. You must forward a copy of the photo/ informational page of your passport within two weeks of enrollment on the tour. Your passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond your return date. If applying for a new or renewed passport, send the copy as soon as you receive your new passport. 14

Air transportation: Current U.S. securities, customs and departure taxes, fuel surcharges and Israel departure taxes of approximately $750 are included in the tour rate and are subject to any change that may be imposed prior to departure. Please note that specific air seat requests will be forwarded to the airline on your behalf but are subject to final approval/ confirmation by the airline. Land-only cost for basic tour if making own air arrangements is $4,384 per person, based on double occupancy, if paying by check or electronic bank transfer; or $4,514 per person if paying by credit card. 6. Hotels: First-class, four-star. Price is based on double occupancy. While Dehoney Travel, Inc. will try to match roommates, we cannot guarantee that a roommate will be available. In this case the payment of a single room will be required. When available, single rooms are often smaller than doubles. There will be an upgrade charge for a single room occupancy. 7. Meals and sightseeing: Breakfast and dinner daily in Israel. Special included lunch of St. Peter s fish by the Sea of Galilee; breakfast daily, two lunches, and four dinners in Jordan on Jordan pre-tour as listed in day by day itinerary. Full sightseeing with luxury buses; English-speaking, Christian-oriented, government-licensed guides in both Israel and Jordan; and entrance fees to places visited on sightseeing trips described in the itinerary are included in the tour. Gratuities to guides, bus drivers, hotel personnel, etc. are also included in the tour rate. 15

Baggage allowance: Because of space limitations on buses and new airline regulations, we have included porterage for only one check-on bag (combination width, length and height not to exceed 62 inches and weight limit of 50 pounds) in tour cost. You may also take one carry-on which will fit under your airline seat or in the overhead compartment (combination width, length and height not to exceed 45 inches and weight limit of 40 pounds). 9. Payment: Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card (Discover, MasterCard or Visa). A deposit of $750 per person is required by April 12, 2019, in order to confirm tour participation. After that date, space may be limited and/or a supplement in airfare may apply. A second deposit of $1,000 is required by May 20, Balance of tour price is due July 10, Enrollment in and payment of deposit constitutes your acceptance of the Tour Conditions/Responsibility of Dehoney Travel, Inc. to provide this travel program. 10. Delays, cancellation and refund: Dehoney Travel, Inc. is not responsible for changes and delays in airline schedules and cannot reimburse passengers for expenses resulting from delays, re-issuance of air tickets, etc. In event of cancellation, there will be a fee of $100 for Dehoney Travel, Inc. to cover administrative costs. In addition, the following scale of charges will apply to each traveler when notice of cancellation is given in writing after the booking is confirmed: 16

Please allow 4 weeks for cancellation refund processing. After ticketing of international and domestic air, a cancellation penalty of 100% of air fare is in effect. Group tickets are normally issued approximately 30 days prior to departure, but in the event that your ticket is issued earlier, the above schedule of cancellation penalties and refund amounts will be adjusted accordingly. 11. Travel protection plan: Many U.S. health carriers do not provide benefits while outside the country and cancellation penalties can be substantial for many tours; therefore, Dehoney Travel, Inc. offers a Travel Protection Plan, TripCare, through Allianz Global Assistance. The Option to Waive Preexisting Condition Exclusion requires purchase of Travel Protection within 14 days of the date on your tour deposit check or your credit card tour deposit being processed at Dehoney Travel. You may decline the Travel Protection Plan, but a signed disclaimer is required and all charges for cancellation 17

Each traveler will receive a Travel Protection Plan pamphlet upon enrollment on the tour. Therefore, from the beginning, they know about this optional coverage. In order to calculate the Trip Cost Per Person, a passenger should add the items listed in the Not Included paragraph in Tour Conditions to their brochure price - for instance, single room supplement, passport fees, etc. 12. Responsibility: Dehoney Travel, Inc. (DT), agrees to arrange for the tour described in this brochure, which represents the entire agreement between the passenger and his agent, the Tour Host and DT.
