DAY 2 Thu 12 September ARRIVAL AMMAN, MT NEBO, DEAD SEA On arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, this morning we will be met by our Jordanian guide and driver. Our first stop will be Mt. Nebo to view the site where Moses viewed the Promised Land before his passing. From here, we ll travel south to our hotel in Petra for early dinner and overnight. 3 DAY 3 Fri 13 September PETRA This morning after breakfast, we ll head off to explore the ancient Nabatean city of Petra! We ll make our way on foot through the awesome SIQ valley. We ll see the famous Treasury building and explore some of the hundreds of buildings, tombs and temples, as well at the 3,000-seat theatre from the first century AD. Those who d like to can climb to the Monastery and High Place. Lunch, (not included) drinks, and snacks can be purchased at one of the various cafes in the Petra Site. If you feel it necessary, there are optional horse or horse and carriage rides available from the start of the SIQ back to the entrance. After our time in Petra, we ll make our way back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight is in Petra. (B,D) *itinerary subject to change DAY 4 Sat 14 September WADI RUM, AQABA, EILAT After breakfast and check out, we ll drive to Wadi Rum, made famous by Lawrence of Arabia, where we ll experience an exciting jeep tour of the magnificent red desert of Edom. Option for a camel ride in the desert to the Bedouin campsite for morning tea. We ll enjoy a Bedouin lunch (included) before making our way to Aqaba on the Red Sea where we ll cross the border into Israel. We ll be met by our Israeli tour guide and driver who ll drive straight to our luxury waterfront hotel in Eilat on the beautiful Red Sea. Once we ve checked in, we can stroll through the nearby shopping mall or relax by the pool. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Eilat (B, L, D) DAY 5 Sun 15 September EILAT, TABERNACLE IN THE WILDERNESS We ll enjoy a late start this morning so sleep in, or enjoy a lazy breakfast at our hotel by the Red Sea. At 10 AM we ll visit the Eilat Coral Beach Nature Reserve to enjoy the water views or for an optional morning snorkel session to see the beautiful corals and tropical fish in the clear pristine water of the Red Sea, just a mile from the Egyptian border. (Facemasks can be hired from the national park kiosk and there are good showers and changing room facilities.) After stopping for a light lunch (not included), we ll make our way to Timna Park to see the Tabernacle in the Wilderness, with a guided tour explaining the fullsized replica of the Tent of Meeting, used by the Hebrews during their 40 year wanderings. Then we ll return to our hotel for more shopping or relaxation. (B,D)

4 DAY 6 Mon 16 September MITZPE RAMON, BEER SHEBA, TEL AVIV, NETANYA This morning we check out of our hotel and drive north through the Arava desert valley for a brief stop at the Ramon Crater to enjoy the spectacular view. We ll break shortly after near Avdat where we can buy a light lunch (not included) and a coffee before making our way to Tel Beer Sheba to see the ancient ruins of the city and wells of Abraham. It s also the site where the 800 Australian Light Horse liberated the town from the Ottoman Turkish occupiers. Time permitting, we ll briefly visit the new Anzac Museum before driving to Tel Aviv, to view Jaffa and take a quick look around one of the the oldest sea ports in the world. From there we ll make the short drive to our hotel in Netanya to enjoy a wonderful buffet dinner and sunset over the Mediterranean Sea. (B, D) DAY 8 Wed 18 September MT BEATITUDES, CAPERNAUM, SEA OF GALILEE BOAT RIDE, YARDENIT We ll start today where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. Then we ll visit Capernaum, Jesus ministry home and we ll also go to the place it s believed Jesus cooked the disciples breakfast on the shore. Next, we ll see the remains of a 1st century fishing boat and enjoy a fabulous time sailing on the Sea of Galilee. This will be followed by a delicious St Peters fish lunch (included). To finish off our day, we will drive to Yardenit on the Jordan River for those wanting to be baptised and then we ll head back to our hotel for dinner and overnight (B, L, D) *itinerary subject to change DAY 7 Tue 17 September CAESAREA, MT. CARMEL (MUHRAKA), MEGIDDO, NAZARETH, TIBERIAS After breakfast, we ll drive up the coast to Caesarea Maritima and its spectacular ruins. If possible, we ll see a short presentation about the history of the site, and stop briefly at the nearby ancient aqueduct. Out next stop is Mt. Carmel for a delicious falafel lunch (included), and then we ll see where Elijah performed great exploits. We ll overlook the beautiful Jezreel Valley (Megiddo) before driving to Tel Megiddo, which is our next stop. Leaving Tel Megiddo, we ll head to Nazareth Village for a tour to see what life was like for Jesus growing up and, if time permits, we ll make a short drive to Mt. Precipice for the sunset. From there we ll make our way to our hotel on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)

5 DAY 9 Thu 19 September MT ARBEL, BANIAS, GOLAN HEIGHTS After breakfast and check out, we ll drive to Mt. Arbel for a morning walk to the top to see the views of the Galilee and before we head north to Tel Dan, one of two sites where idolatry was established by King Jeroboam in Israel s earlier history. Our next stop will be Banias (Caesarea Philippi), where Jesus asked His disciples an incredibly important question. After this we ll stop for a quick lunch (not included) at a Druze restaurant, with magnificent views of Mt Hermon. On our way back to our hotel, we ll visit Mount Bental to view the border into Syria and learn about some of Israel s current geo-political challenges as well as the history of the site. Then we ll drive to our next kibbutz hotel in the upper Galilee for dinner and overnight. (B, D) DAY 10 Fri 20 September BEIT SHEAN, SACHNE, QASR EL YAHUD, DEAD SEA We ll check out and depart Galilee this morning and drive to Beit Shean, the ancient capital city of the Decapolis, which has incredible ruins and interesting New Covenant history. Afterwards we will enjoy a picnic lunch (included) in the beautiful Sachne parklands, and then we ll drive down the Jordan Valley into the wilderness region to Qasr El Yahud, the most likely site of Jesus baptism by John, and then close out our day at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth! Floating in the salty water is an experience you cannot afford to miss! Enjoy dinner and overnight at our hotel on the shores of the Dead Sea. (B, L, D) DAY 11 Sat 21 September MASADA, EIN GEDI, QUMRAN, JERUSALEM Today we will cover some incredible history, beginning with King Herod s mountain fortress on Masada, then moving on to Ein Gedi, which became David s place of refuge and from there, we ll make our way to Qumran, where the most important archaeological discovery in modern history was found! We ll have lunch (not included) at Qumran and make time for some retail therapy. Finally, the moment we have been waiting for we ll begin ascent up to Jerusalem, the Holy City where God has chosen to establish His throne on earth and where He has placed His name! After arriving in Jerusalem, we ll make our way to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D) Sun 22 September DAY 12 CITY OF DAVID, SOUTHERN STEPS, WESTERN WALL DAY 13 TUNNELS, YAD HASHMONA We ll begin our day walking through parts of the City of David, the very beginning of the city of Jerusalem. We ll also make our way through Hezekiah s Tunnels, before heading into the Old City of Jerusalem to the Southern Steps that once led into the Temple. We ll grab some lunch (not included) inside the Old City. We ll also walk the short distance to the Western Wall, a sacred place of prayer for Jews for the past 2000 years and after a short time there, we ll head down into the Western Wall Tunnels, which lead down to the very Herodian street of Jesus day. We ll finish our day at Yad Hashmona on the outskirts of Jerusalem and share a unique and special Biblical meal together. After dinner, we will return to our hotel in Jerusalem. (B, D) Mon 23 September ISRAEL MUSEUM, YAD VASHEM, KNESSET, SOUND & LIGHT SHOW After breakfast, we ll drive to the Israel Museum to see the scale of model of Jerusalem of Jesus day, visit the Shrine of the Book to see the famous Dead Sea Scrolls before driving Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum. It s a very sobering site, but incredibly important. There are a growing number of voices around the world denying the Holocaust ever happened and it is important we never, ever forget the truth. We ll have lunch at the museum (not included). If there s still time in the day, we ll visit the famous Menorah across from the Knesset, Israel s Parliament before returning to our hotel for dinner. After dinner, we ll visit the Tower of David Museum in the Old City to see the Sound and Light spectacular. (B, D) *itinerary subject to change

6 DAY 14 Tue 24 September SHILO, MOUNT GERIZIM, BETHEL We ll be heading to Samaria after breakfast today, where we ll meet our local guide and driver to visit one of the most ancient sites of Israel s very early history. Because Samaria is a disputed territory, we ll travel in an armoured bus, but first we ll visit Neot Kedumim, a Biblical nature reserve then head to Shilo, Mount Gerizim and Bethel. We ll stop for lunch (not included) throughout the day and after a full but very rewarding time in Samaria, we ll return to our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight. (B, D) DAY 15 Wed 25 September MT. OLIVES, VIA DOLOROSA, MT ZION, MT SCOPUS We ll start our day at the top of the Mt. of Olives for a breathtaking view of the Holy City before we begin the descent down the Palm Sunday Road. We ll stop briefly at Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over the city. Further down, we will come a private garden near Gethsemane for some quiet time together. From there, we ll make our way into the Old City to the Pools of Bethesda where Jesus healed the crippled man. While in the Old City, we ll stop for lunch (not included) It s only a short walk to Ecce Homo, the place where Pilate presented Jesus after His scourging before His walk on the Via Dolorosa. We ll leave the Old City through Zion Gate and finish the day at the Mt Scopus War Memorial Cemetery where many ANZACs are buried. (B, D) DAY 16 Thu 26 September HERODIAN, BETHLEHEM OUTLOOK, GARDEN TOMB Today we ll drive to view the Shepherds Fields near Bethlehem before continuing to the Herodian fortress built by King Herod, which eventually became his personal tomb. We ll break for lunch (not included) before making our way to the Garden Tomb to celebrate communion together. There s a tomb in this ancient garden, it may or may not be Jesus tomb, but the most important thing is that the tomb is empty because our Messiah is risen indeed! The rest of the day is yours for leisure or some last minute shopping. (B, D) DAY 17 Fri 27 September DEPART JERUSALEM Today we check out after breakfast and farewell Jerusalem and each other as we go our separate ways. Those continuing their journey to Turkey will transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for an early flight to Izmir via Istanbul. Those heading back to Australia will transfer to the Allenby Bridge for border crossing back into Jordan. We ll once again meet our guide and driver and subject to time, may be able to see some interesting sites in Amman. Lunch and dinner are not included today. We ll transfer to Queen Alia Airport for our Emirates departure flights back to Australia. (B) DAY 18 Sat 28 September ARRIVE AUSTRALIA Arrive back into Australia with wonderful memories of our journey! *itinerary subject to change

7 OPTIONAL Turkey Extension 27 th September 4 th October DAY 17 Fri 27 September TEL AVIV TO IZMIR This morning we depart Ben Gurion Airport for our Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival into Istanbul we will leave the international terminal and be met by our tour escort and transferred to the domestic terminal to check in for our Turkish Airlines connecting flight to Izmir. We ll will be met by our driver and guide and transferred to our hotel for overnight at our Izmir hotel. (D) DAY 18 Sat 28 September IZMIR, SARDIS, HIERAPOLIS, PAMUKKALE Our first stop today begins at the top of Mt Pagus (the Crown of Smyrna) to view the city from the castle which dates back to the time of Alexander the Great, and then we ll visit to the Agora (market) in the ancient city of Smyrna. We ll then head to Sardis, the oldest of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Sardis is situated in the beautiful Lycus Valley. We ll pass through vineyards on our way to the ruins of ancient Philadelphia, the gateway of Asia Minor, now called Alasehir. From there we ll drive to Pamukkale, known as Hierapolis in ancient times, which is set on stunning calcified limestone terraces. Our hotel has its own natural thermal springs, which can be enjoyed after dinner tonight. (B,L,D) DAY 19 Sun 29 September PAMUKKALE, LAODICEA, EPHESUS, KUSADASI We ll see the terraces this morning before visiting the extensive site of Laodicea near the city of Denizili before heading through the Meander Valley on our way to Ephesus, once the capital of Asia Minor and the centre of pagan cult worship. We ll walk the marble streets of this once very wealthy city and stand in the great amphitheatre mentioned in Acts 19:23 41 before we make our way to Kusadasi, a lovely fishing port on the Aegean Sea where we ll stop for dinner and overnight. 8 DAY 20 Mon 30 September KUSADASI, BERGAMA, CANAKKALE This morning we ll head north to Bergama to explore the ruins on the acropolis of Pergamum where the Throne of Satan resides (Rev 2:13). If we have time, we ll stop at one of the many carpet centres to see some carpets for which Turkey is world famous before taking the scenic coastal road with its stunning views of the Aegean Sea, to the port city of Canakkale on the Dardanelles to our hotel. (B,L,D) DAY 22 Wed 2 October ISTANBUL We visit the famous Hagia Sofia this morning. It s an impressive architectural masterpiece that was originally a church, which was turned into mosque and is now a museum for all to enjoy. We ll visit the Underground Cistern built by Justinian in 535, and then if it s open, we ll walk across the historical Bridge of Galata and visit the Jewish Museum of Turkey. We ll enjoy the afternoon at either the Grand Bazaar or the Spice Markets, soaking up their hustle, bustle and atmosphere! Return to your nearby hotel in time for dinner and overnight. (B,L,D) DAY 21 Tue 1 October CANAKKALE, GALLIPOLI, ISTANBUL Today we cross the Dardanelles Strait by ferry to the Gallipoli Peninsula where we ll visit the War Memorials at Anzac Cove, the Landing Site, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair. We ll follow the shore of the Sea of Marmara to Istanbul, known in ancient times as Constantinople, a city which straddles the two continents of Europe and Asia. (B,L,D)

9 DAY 23 Thu 3 October DEPART ISTANBUL Our day will begin with leisurely breakfast and late hotel check out. The morning is free for personal sightseeing, shopping or relaxation. In the afternoon, we will drive to the airport to check in for our Emirates flight departing Istanbul for Dubai. On arrival, we ll transfer to our return Emirates flights back to Australia. 11 Israel was a wonderful experience but sharing that time with you made it an even more of a special memory for us. K & G I thank God for you all and the wonderful time we had together in Israel. It was life changing for me as I have not done anything like this before what an incredible time it was. My Bible has not been the same since it is like I am reading a history book and a personal journal diary. It has come alive even more than ever before. R We had the most wonderful time and I may never come down from the wonder of what we have seen. Mind-blowing is all I can say! To read the Scripture passages as we were there in the places was so special. Each day I enjoy reading the Word of God as it always strengthens me.
