Capitalizing on widespread discontent with globalism, which is seen as a threat to traditional values, these authoritarian, Euro-skeptic parties have found new sources of support in mainstream society. What does this development mean for the continuity of the age-old Jewish presence in Europe and for the wider world? How should the Jewish State deal with nationalist parties that are ostensibly pro-israel? Lee Zeldin (R-NY), US House of Representatives ISRAELI TV & MOVIE SUCCESS STORIES IN HOLLYWOOD Sutton Center, 2nd Floor This panel will showcase Israeli successes in Hollywood - TV & film - and will highlight Israel s contributions to one of the biggest and most influential industries in the world. Just like Israel has become a powerhouse in areas such as high tech, defense, cybersecurity, water technology, Israel is now starting to establish itself in Hollywood as a growing source of creative successes in TV, movies and critically acclaimed series streamed through various new platforms. In some parts of the world and in certain industries, due the exploitations of those seeking to boycott Israel, any association with Israel may have a negative connotation and adverse impact on business and commerce, yet recently Israel has had unprecedented successes in TV, movies and beyond to the extent that the slightest connection to Israeli creativity in this field presents itself as a significant added value and attraction. The panel, led by Israel s Consul General in 9

13 TUESDAY, APRIL 25, 2017 CYBERHATE AND THE FIGHT AGAINST MODERN-DAY ANTI-SEMITISM Sutton North, 2nd Floor Session presented by a global panel of Jewish Diplomats, members of the WJC Jewish Diplomatic Corps, including presentation of WJC-commissioned report on online anti- Semitism prepared in collaboration with Vigo Social Intelligence. The report, The Rise of Anti- Semitism on Social Media: Summary of 2016, analyzes current expressions of anti-semitism on several social media platforms, and provides hard data and analysis of relevant trends on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Additionally, the report offers operative recommendations going forward on how to address and combat online anti-semitism. Members of the WJC Jewish Diplomatic Corps, representing all major regions, will present their local perspectives on the prevalence of cyberhate as a key threat to their communities and a central contemporary expression of anti-semitism. Furthermore, the panel will discuss the role of the next generation in the efforts to identify, analyze, and combat this alarming and threatening development.
