4 We Rejected God Do You Ever Feel Inferior? Adam & Eve After They Sinned No Longer Innocent They Were Guilty No Longer Delighted in The Lord They Felt Fear and Shame Impact Alone and Unacceptable

5 God Accepted Us - How Did God Feel? Felt Grief and Sadness - It broke his heart Instead of Rejecting Us He Accepts Us in Spite of Our Sin He longs To Relate to You and Me He wants to Take Pleasure in Us But that s not possible because our sin has separated us from the life that is found in him

6 God Accepted Us While his heart accepts us without condition, his holiness cannot embrace our life of selfishness. He wants to relate to us complete our joy. How can we restore this relationship? We can t - God took the initiative.

7 What Did God Do? John 1:14 - So the Word became human and made his home among us. Hebrews 2:14 - Because God s children are human beings made of flesh and blood the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.

8 Truth # 4: We believe the truth of the incarnation (God becoming Human), in which God accepted us without condition and sent Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary, to redeem us and restore us to a relationship with him.

9 Baptist Faith & Message: God the Son Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself human nature with its demands and necessities and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin

10 How Can We Really Know if God actually showed up to demonstrate his acceptance and Love for Us? Sounds Cynical but God himself wants to assure us that he actually came to earth to redeem us.

11 Evidence That God Became Human to Redeem Us. OT Prophecy (Signpost): Garden of Eden Genesis 3:15 And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.

12 Evidence OT Prophecy (Signpost): Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. God With Us!

13 Evidence OT Genesis to Malachi Waiting Oh, come, oh, come, Emmanuel, And ransom captive Israel, That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to you, O Israel!

Joseph would have been the hardest man on the PLANET to convince of Mary s story that she was a virgin. yet it s clear that Joseph was a hard-working and responsible Jewish man and made his decisions fully aware of its implications.
