5 - The best of taraweeh is to complete it behind the imam, however many rak as he prays, preferably twenty as the this was established by the Chief of Believers, Umar. Imam Ahmad b. Hanbal was asked, Do you prefer a man pray with the people in Ramadan or on his own? He said, He should pray with the people. And I prefer that he should pray with the imam and pray Witr with him. The ﷺ said, If a man prays qiyaam with the imam until he finishes, it will be recorded as if he spent the rest of the night in prayer. Tahajjud - Allah Most High descends to the sky of the earth in the last third of every night asking, Is there anyone asking something, so that I may give it; is there anyone seeking forgiveness, so that I may forgive him. Tahajjud can be done in sets of two up to ten rak as or however many one wishes. It s time is before Fajr, provided that one slept before hand. It is quite easy during Ramadan since we are getting up for suhur anyhow. Quran - It is the custom of the believers to complete the Quran once during Ramadan. For those ﷺ who cannot recite Quran, they should listen to the Arabic and read the English. The said, The reward of the listener is as the reward of the reciter. It is also joining what Allah and His Angels do regularly, for He said, Allah and His Angels send salaat upon the. Oh believers, send salaat and salaam on him in excellent ways (33:56 Ahzaab). Ways it can be said: Allahumma salli ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa ala aalihi wa sahbihi wa sallim. The least is: Allahumma salli alayh. Istighfaar - Saying astaghfirullah is not only after we do something sinful. We also seek His forgiveness for not fulfilling His rights of worship. The benefits of saying astaghfirullah while feeling remorse for our shortcomings are many. Amongst them: increase in wealth, increase in offspring, increase blessing on one s children, and a nice abode in this life and in the next.
