He came all the way from Pittsburg to make our Eid a pleasant one. His take away message was to bring about the love, obedience, respect and spirit of sacrifice among our families. We appreciate Tariq Hamid sahib of Shaheen for donation of snacks that were prepared on site in front of the crowd. At this Eid, a campaign to register as body parts donors was also undertaken led by Rizwan Alladin sahib. There were about nine hundred members resent at the Eid gah. 2 Monthly Tabligh Report: PAGE 2 The Tabligh Department has finally set up a Religious Founders Day at The Theatre at CUNY York College with the topic being "Religion & Social Peace". It will be on November 6, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 PM. It is humbly requested that all members of the Jama'at, especially the Khuddam, to attend and encourage as many of their friends and acquaintances to join as well. On October 8, 2013, there was a seminar at Long Island University's C.W. Post campus in Long Island with the topic being, "Muslim Journey's: The Experiences of One Immigrant Community in the United States". There were nearly 50 students who attended and earned college credit in the process. From the Jama'at, Brother Abu-Bakar Yaccoub came all the way from Milwaukee and was assisted by Imam Yahya Luqman Sb from the west coast. The "Immigrant Community" in the title referred to Jama'at Ahmadiyya's migration to the United States. As the whole presentation was focused around Jama'at Ahmadiyya, everything from the book displays to the media boards were about the Jama'at. Every student was given a gift pack with a copy of "Life of Muhammad", "The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam", "Islam's Response to Contemporary Issues" and "Introduction to the Study of The Holy Quran". There was also the customary Jama'at pen and information card included as well. The most common piece of literature that was taken by the students on their own accord was "Jesus In India". There was another seminar at LIU's C.W. Post campus the following week on October 15, 2013, titled, "What an Educator Should Know About Islam". There was a book stall set up in the cafeteria for the students who were happy to welcome us back. The Jama'at also gave C.W Post's library copies of four books: The Holy Quran with Short Commentary, Life of Muhammad, The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam and Introduction to the Study of The Holy Quran. On top of this, we provided them with a list of other available books which is currently being reviewed by the faculty at LIU. Aside from this, the Tabligh Department assisted Majlis Ansarullah in the Nigerian Day Parade in New York City. The Jama'at had gone with a banner supporting Nigeria and representing the Jama'at at the same time. Towards the end of the parade, the Ambassador of Nigeria recognized Jama'at Ahmadiyya and stated his appreciation for everything the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is doing for and in Nigeria. The Tabligh Department is also assisting Majlis Ansarullah in facilitating Khalifatul Masih the V's new book, "World Crisis and Pathway to Peace". 3 Lajna Monthly Report PAGE 3 The Lajna meeting began with Tilawat & Translation of the Holy Quran and Hadith by Sisters Rehana Shehzad, Bariah Ahmad and Waseema Basharat respectively. This was followed by the Lajna Pledge led by Sadr Sahiba. Aniqa Firak recited a nazm from Durr-e-Samin. Dr. Salamat Majeed s Talim program focused on Ramadan. She started by reminding us of the stipulations that accompany compulsory fasting. Alison, who has worked with the Lajna for a while and started running an Apple Community group that focused on living a healthy lifestyle. She has made a request for members to join the Apple Community again as there will be a second group forming. All members who are interested in learning to live a healthy lifestyle and loss weight should sign up so that arrangement can be made. Sister Farkhanda Ahmad reviewed Huzoor (atba) s Friday Sermon from July 13, Huzoor had stated how we shouldn t just be fasting for the sake of fasting. One must focus on enhancing his/her spirituality. There needs to be a focus on Taqwa and the remembrance of Allah. The meeting concluded with silent prayer. By: Farida Ahmad Ansarullah Report This month regular Majlis monthly meeting was held on Sunday October 13 at Bait-uz-Zafar. The program started with recitation of Holy Quran by Rashid Ahmad sahib from Sura Al Nur Chapter 24 Verse 56, Pledge by Zaeem sahib. The Hadith # 9 from the syllabus was discussed by Munir Nabeel sahib regarding praying to Allah for seeking protection from knowledge that does not benefit, heart that does not fear Allah and prayers that are not accepted. Atta ul Hasan sahib discussed the topic about the truth of the Promised Messiah (AS) according to the Holy Quran and Ahadith. Zaeem sahib presented a report about the National Ansarullah Ijtema that was held in Silver Sprig MD on October 4, 5 & 6. The attendance at the Ijtema was low and members should be encouraged to attend the national jamaat events. In Sports Queens Majlis won 2 prizes in Horse Shoe competition. Iqbal Ahmad was First and Rashid Ahmad was second. After the meeting Salaat was offered and lunch was served. Eid-ul Adhia was celebrated on October 16 at Bait ul Zafar and members of Majlis helped in Audio Video and Ziafat department. Sadr Majlis Ansarullah has requested that all members of the majlis should donate generously in the MKA effort to raise Fund for walk for humanity. You can donate online or you can give cash to Khalad Khan sahib or Zaeem sahib and they will send money on your behalf. To learn more, please contact: and ask for research or us at info@dfccresearch.com Bronx Halqa Report: The Bronx Halqa meeting was held on Sunday, October 27,2013 at 1:00 P.M in the Bronx mission house. Respected president Nazir Ayaz Sahib led our meeting. The meeting started with the recitation and the translation of the Holy Qur'an by Marib Mahmood. Following the Tilawat, Brother Abu Faried shared with us, his experience on performing Hajj this year. After that, president Nazir Ayaz Sahib made some important announcements. He told Jama'at members that everyday at 8:00 P.M in the Bronx Masjid, there will be congregational Maghrib and Isha prayer. He also said that every member with their family should attend this. In all, 40 members attended this meeting. Brother Zafar Sarar sahib spoke about Tabligh activities in Bronx and strongly suggested about the improvements.the meeting ended with silent prayer. 4 PAGE 4 Invitation to the "Quran and Science Symposium" at Bait-ur-Rehman Mosque on Saturday November 23rd, 2013 On behalf of the US Ahmadiyya Muslim Scientists Association, I wanted to cordially invite you and your jamaat members to an exciting one-day event at Bait-ur-Rehman Mosque entitled the Quran and Science Symposium on Saturday November 23rd, 2013, from 9AM to 6PM. The day is filled with interactive sessions from Ahmadi Muslim Scientists and Quranic scholars on (1) how to utilize the Holy Quran to make leaps and bounds in science and technology, (2) short talks about cutting edge science and the current use of the Holy Quran, (3) tools to excel in science and academics, and (4) a poster session for students and scientists of all ages. In a recent mulaqat that I had the privilege of having with Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (aba), Huzur was pleased to know about the upcoming Symposium and graciously stated that he might also provide a special message for the event. Naib Amir Naseem Mahdi Sahib will ia preside over the Symposium, and there will be short talks from notable scientists and scholars in Physics, Cancer Biology, Translational Medicine, and various other disciplines. There is no charge for the professional meeting, but we do request that you encourage your members to register as soon as possible, so we can plan out food and space. Public Relation Report -Chief Phillip Banks visited the Masjid on October 14. He is the chief of departments of NYPD, the highest ranking uniformed officer in the NYPD. An introduction of the Jama'at was given by Ahmad N. Chaudhry sahib. Nazir Ayaz sahib, Fasasi Sanusi sahib, along with other Jama'at members were at the meeting. - The Chief was appreciative to learn about the Jama'at. We had a good conversations on Islam, and some of the issues Muslims are facing in New York. -On October 24, their was a special meeting sponsored by the Police department at the ICNA Masjid in Jamaica. All Muslim leaders in Queens were invited. Abdul Ghafoor sahib (Tabligh Secretary) and myself attended the meeting. We had the opportunity to meet other Muslim leaders as well as police officials. -Chief Kevin Ward visited the masjid on October 28. Chief Banks on his visit to the Masjid had suggested we meet with Chief Ward who is his subordinate. He is in charge of all precincts in South Queens. - We gave both guests a copy of World Crisis and Pathway to Peace written by by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V (aba). -By: Asad Bajwa New Halqa: We have a new Halqa Middletown out of Bronx and Halqa Nigran is Bilal Saleem while Bronx Halqa Nigran is Gulzar Tahir. Ameen Ceremony: Ahmad son of Mr. and Mrs. Shahzad Latif had his Ameen ceremony at Bait-uz-Zafar soon after the Tahir class. It was conducted by Hadi Nasir sahib. Khuddam Report: Khuddam and Atfal helped with security, food preparation, set up and break down for Eid-ul-Adhia in Bait-uz-Zafar Khuddam provided security regularly during Jumma prayer in Bait-uz-Zafar

5 PAGE 5 Manhattan Halqa Report: The Manhattan hulqa held its first monthly meeting since the Holy month of Ramadan on October 27. Sadr sahib Nazir Ayaz attended and reminded the members of the hulqa of the importance of following Hazoor's Friday sermons, which are available and accessible through a variety of means, including internet broadcasts, podcasts, etc. Ayaz sahib also underlined the importance of congregational prayer. Since the Manhattan hulqa is small and located at some distance to Bait uz-zafar, Sadr sahib emphasized the need for the hulqa to pray in communion or for individual families to do so. The Manhattan hulqa agreed to meet on every third Sunday of the month, with the next meeting scheduled for Sunday, November 24. Hulqa members are requested to make every effort to attend. -Ehsan Markus Bouillon Lajna Report: The Lajna meeting began with Tilawat & Translation of the Holy Quranand Hadith by Sisters Rehana Shehzad, Mahnoor Paracha, Sumera Ahmed and Saba Latif respectively. This was followed by the Lajna Pledge led by Sadr Sahiba. Homaa Hamid deliviered a naat. The Seeat-un -Nabi Jlasa began with Faiza Bajwa s speech on The Holy Prophet (SAW) s personality. She shared examples of how he (saw) was a living and walking example of the teachings of the Holy Quran. He was the perfect man, prefect leader and an excellent example of Mankind. Bariah Ahmad presented on the Establishment of Society in Arabia. She shared the situation of Mecca and Medina prior to the advent of The Holy Prophet (SAW). It is important to grasp the fact that on the eve of the birth of Islam there was no government at any level in Arabia, and this fact may even have affected the rise of Islam itself. The total absence of government, even in its most rudimentary form, was quite an extraordinary phenomenon. This was followed by a group reading of Al-Qaseedah. By Anika Ahmad, Saba Ahmad, Khoshnoor Paracha and Bariah Ahmad. This was followed by a talk by Farkhanda Ahmad & Tehmina Rafiq on the Farewell Sermon of The Holy Prophet (SAW). They discussed how the points he discussed and brought up over 1400 years ago are still applicable today to the state of current worldly affairs. The Seerat-un-Nabi Jalsa completed with silent prayer. By: Farida Ahmad Walk for Humanity: On October 19th, the 2nd Walk for Humanity took place in Thompson Park in Monroe, NJ. The goal of the Walk was to raise awareness and fund for fighting hunger. The problem of hunger is very real and close to home. Over 50 million Americans do not know where their next meal will come from. Over 150 people came for the walk and raised over $20,000. The New York area Walk was one of four Walks nationwide sponsored by MKA USA. The other walks were held in Washington DC, Zion, and Los Angeles. The goal was to raise $100,000 for fight hunger. 6 PAGE 6 On October 12, 2013, the Queens Jama'at held their second Waqf-e-Nau meeting. The meeting began with Tilawat by Mahir Mahmood. He recited Verse 103 of Surah Al-Saffat. After him, Mahera Mohar recited a hadith entitled Importance of Taqwa. The nazm Ik Zamana Tha Ke Mera Naam Bhi Masroor Tha (written by the Promised Messiah) was recited by Farhan Ahmed. During this meeting, we had the pleasure of hearing two speeches. The first was a speech given by Amara Mahmood. Her speech was on the Friday Sermon from April 23, 1987 given by Hadrath Mirza Tahir Ahmad (ra). The speech summarized how Huzoor stressed the importance of love of Allah, and why it is important for us to follow the Holy Prophet s (saw) teachings. Huzoor stated that in order for Allah to love you, you must love the Holy prophet, and obey his teachings. This sermon was also the initial introduction to the Waqf-e-Nau scheme and its blessings. Huzoor stressed in his speech that the coming generations would need a gift that would consist of people who have dedicated their lives for the sake of the Jama'at. The second speech was given by Husna Mirza and was on the topic of Importance of Salat. As we all know, Salat is obligatory in Islam because it is part of the 5 pillars of Islam. Salat is a form of spiritual purification as well as a form of communication with Allah. She cited many references to the importance of salat, and gave a very insightful speech. After the conclusion of the speeches an hour-long discussion took place with the Secretary of Waqf-e-Nau. He began by acknowledging the hard work and dedication of Qudsia Ghayur Sahiba. She consistently dedicates countless hours towards the waqf children. She has been like a second mother to the children in the Waqf-e-Nau scheme. This week, our Waqf-e-Nau secretary discussed the importance of a healthy relationship between parents and their children. He stressed that there should be no lack of trust and everyone in the household should work together to improve and strengthen their relationships with each other. In order to do this, we must begin being by honest and have trust with each other. Furthermore, he wishes to use new techniques, rather than forcing children to learn the same syllabus that has been enforced since when we were young children. He intends to reinforce the true meaning of Waqf-e-Nau by helping the children to remember the importance of their goals. This would be in favor of the Jama'at as well as in regards to the happiness of Huzoor (aba). He hopes that he is able to create a trust with the Waqf-e-Nau so they do not feel threatened to be active within the Jama'at. Our secretary also stressed that the Waqf children should begin to actively use the websites: and as they are extremely helpful. All children should take time out to explore these remarkable websites and become familiar with them. The meeting ended with silent prayers. There were a total of 7 fathers, 9 boys, 9 mothers and 8 girls. Note: Please be advised that waqf-e-nau meeting will be held every second Saturday of the month. -Amara Mahmood Waqfe Nau Report: Middletown Halqa Meeting: Middletown Halqa meeting was held on 26th Oct at 6:00pm at Mubashar Sahib s home. This was the first meeting of Middletown Halqa. Meeting started with the recitation on Holly Quran by Zafar Mahmood s/o Tariq sahib, followed by a poem by Musafar Ahmed s/o Mubashar sahib. Next was a speech by Rizwan Ahmad s/o Mubashar sahib and the topic was importance of five time prayers. Saleem Cheema sahib translated poem and the speech in English. Gafoor sahib also addressed the meeting and mentioned about the upcoming situation of Bronx jamaat. Gafoor sahib and Ata Hassan from Queens with two children attended the meeting. Middletown Eid-Millon party was also combined with Halqa meeting. Middle town Lajna prepared very delecious food for Eid- Milon program. 32 members attended the meeting. By: Saleem Mahmood Bereavement: It is with great sadness to convey the demise of Mother of Shazad Piracha sahib who was on visit to new York from Pakistan passed away. It is also much sadness to convey the demise of Rowshon Ara sahibah passed away after a long illness. She was grandmother of Ghulam Rabbi Ahmad sahib.
