Fiqhul Quloob - Page 596 And He the Exalted has made the stomach a store-house in which food stays, so it breaks it down (cooks it) like a chef does, and it hands over the food to those who will benefit from it. Meaning, the stomach has a certain funciton which is to break the food down, and it keeps the food just for that purpose once it has done its work, it passes the food on to those who need it. So man prepares food outside, so that he thinks that it is fully cooked, and his inner chef breaks down the food and there is no one to guide it as to when the food is broken down. And the stomach creates such heat dissolving the food that could even melt stones - and this heat is in the most delicate part of the body - and this heat neither burns your nor does it scorch you while it is hotter than fire. The fluids inside the stomach are so intense that they could burn you - but its amazing, they dont burn the stomach, they dont burn your skin, they dont eat your body up from inside. And He the Exalted has made in your body windows and doors in order to admit in your body what will benefit you and expell from your body what can harm you so is there any who understands? any who remembers? any who is grateful? So Perfect the Supreme Creator, the Knowing One Who has created for you senses, and put them in the head like lamps on top of a tower, so that things can be known. Just like observatory posts are on top of buildings, or special towers are built so that things can be seen from a distance. Our senses are in our head - ears eyes nose so that we can see, hear and smell easily if these senses were in our feet if we saw from our feet what would happen? And He the Exalted has made five senses for five perceptible things so that nothing that can be perceived is left imperceivable. Meaning, anything that can be sensed - then we have been given the ability to sense it. So He has made the eye for things that can be seen and He has made the ear for things that can be heard and He has made the nose for things that can be smelled and He has made taste on your tongue for things that can be tasted and He has made touch for things that can be felt so what is it that cannot be perceived? And these senses are aided with different creatures so that their complete benefit can be attained: So the sense of sight has been assisted with light and the sense of hearing has been assisted with air that transfers sound waves.. and the sense of smell has been assisted with subtle air and the sense of taste has been assisted with saliva in the mouth Just smelling the food makes you salivate when you see and smell the food you feel like eating So Allah has created in us senses, and things that can be perceived through our senses, and a medium in the middle that connects the two And the sense of touch has been assisted with a special strength, that direct contact tells you what you are touching You touch paper and even if you cant see the paper you know it is paper. The ability to touch is so amazing to see you need light, to taste you need saliva but touch is so sensitive And it is not in need of anything external to assist it So Exalted is the One who has produced speech form a simple sound that is inside of a person, and produced letters, words and sentences of different types of speech. And when you study tajweed, you learn about the characteristics / sifaat of huroof.. so specific.

When you hear recitation of the Quran: it affects your heart... the more perfect the recitation is the more it impacts the heart, even if you dont understand the meaning. (Speech that is produced out of the mouth of varying types such as) command and prohibition, prose and poetry, what makes you laugh and what makes you cry, what comforts you and what grieves you, what breeds fear and what breeds peace Its just speech only words but it has such a profound affect on your feelings and state. AbuBakr was afraid and sad at the time of hijrah the Prophet (s) said, laa tahzan: do not grieve the Prophet (s) was so optimistic when someone would be ill, he would say, abshir! rejoice! people must feel so good around him but some people always talk negatively they find a problem for every solution And some words are such that they cause the healthy to become sick Tests are for all people we need to view hardship positively also this is another chance for me to draw closer to Allah Ustazah went to see someone who was unwell, and they were so week and every now and then the nurses would come to test their blood sugar levels etc. that they could no longer draw blood out of their hands or arms they were now taking blood from the ear so she was thinking.. a believer is rewarded for even a thorn that he is pricked with so take this positively also. Every suffering is a source of beenfit for us. So we need to think in times like this what are we saying? Do we say comforting words to the person who is suffering? The words we use can cause someone to fall, and they can also cause someone to get up And some speech is such that it cures the ill, sometimes we complain that I am surrounded by negative people what should you do then? read the Quran.. to lift you up, to lift your spirits the relationship with Quran can strengthen you so much that it can prepare you to face anything and if this relationship is week, then every gust of wind can cause you to fall So if there is no one to say positive things to you, no person around you there is the Quran: hear the Quran.. listen to what the Quran has to tell you get some app something to ensure you listen regularly. WE should be a source of strength for others lift other peoples spirits with your positive words And there are some words that cause blessings to cease, and some words that cause problems to descend ITs your own words sometimes that bring you problems: so never be judgmental about other people. so for e.g., a person might say about another: have they not taught their children any manners? and then you see your own children, how they behave they become ill-mannered because you commented about someone elses children so watch what you say, especially about other people! And some words repel afflictions, and some bring blessings Like Yunus (a) said, Laa ilaha illaa anta, Subhanaka innee kuntu minadh dhaalimeen and these words brought him out of the belly of the whale had he not said them, then he would remain in it as Allah says. And some words bring hearts together, and some words divide hearts, some words mislead, some words guide, some are of high level, and some are lowly, some are good, and some are ugly So Exalted is the One who has brought all these words out of the chest with air Indeed in that is surely a miracle but most of them do not believe and indeed your Lord, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful

And Exalted is the One Who has produced from this one air, sounds and words, letters and? that cannot be enumerate Think about it, in your life how many times have you said Bismillah - and how many letters are in Bismillah we cannot even count, and He knows, an dnot just that, He rewards for every letter of the Quran that the servant recites And He has produced from one water plants, trees, flowers and fruits that cannot be enumerated and He has produced with one tongue languages and accents that cannot be enumerated! So the throat is such that one (type of) air passes through it, and the earth is such that one (type of ) water is given to it, but what comes forth from this and from that is diverse - whose types cannot be enumerated except by the One Whom nothing in the earth nor the sky can cause failure: His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, "Be," and it is. Look at the different sounds and words that emit from the mouth and the different types of plants emit from the earth all this diversity in speech, in plants - and the source of it all? for speech: one type of tongue, one type of air for plants: one type of water, one type of earth => No matter what hardship we are in, there are those who are in greater hardship than us when you are in distress, think about people who are living in camps as refugees. we have everything in our homes, and if we have one problem, then so what? in every persons life there is some problem dont let your one problem define you think about all other blessings that Allah has given you think about global poverty whenever something bothers you think about those whose problems are a thousan times worse than ours. This time will pass we need to see, the responsbilities that Allah has placed on us, are we fulfilling them? or are we making our difficulties an excuse? problems are like balloons you inflate them with your worries And how great is the blessing of retention and forgetting? Things we can remember and things we forget.. they are also a blessing! This blessing is unique to man and how great are the wisdoms and benefits in them for man. So if man did not have the ability to remember that Allah has gifted him with exclusively all his affairs would be scattered he would not know what is for him, and what is his obligation to give, nor would he know what he took and what he gave, nor would he remember what he heard and what he saw, nor what he said and what was said to him, nor would he remember who was good to him and who was bad to him or what benefitted him so he would go near it, or what harmed him so he would keep away from it. He would not know any knowledge no matter how many times he studied it, nor would he find a way any where he would not be able to go on the path he previously went on nor would he learn from any experience! And more amazing is the blessing of forgetting so if it was not for forgetting, he would not be able to get rid of (unnecessary information) nor would he get over any grief, nor would he be patient over any hardship, no grief would go away, or resentment he would not remember any blessing of this world except with problems, and he would not be able to fall asleep! So how great is the favour of Allah upon the servant in endowing him with memory and forgetfulness even though they contradict each other!

And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help. And Allah is over all things Able, HE does what He wills, and nothing in the earth or the sky can cause Him failure He does what He wills with His power and He is the Self- Sufficient Master: He created Adam without a father or mother, and created his wife from a father and no mother, and created Isa from a mother without a father, and created us from father and mother. So He created Adam from mud, and created his wife from one his ribs, and created ISa from a nafkhah (blow) of Jibril in the robe of Maryam, and created people from the composition of the man and woman s liquid. So Exalted is the One who has created from this liquid a well proportioned man who stands and sits, eats and drinks, becomes happy and mad, prays and worships, is just and unfair, speaks and become silent, has mercy and rage.. And Exalted is the One who has made from Adams off-spring male and female black and white, tall and short, believer and disbeliever, intelligent and insane, arab and nonarab. And Exalted is the One who has facilitate for him faith and disbelief obedience and disobedience, good and evil, favour and harm guidance and misguidance And Exalted is the One who has filled the earth with his progeny. So this one is born,,, and this one is dying until they have all eaten their provisions. and completed their terms, and Alah proved them with His blessings, and sends to them His Messengers, and they do what Allah facilitates for them and go in the morning and return in the evening So how great is the creation of these souls and how amazing are the signs and lessons in them and how they point to the Power of their Creator! And in the earth are signs for those who believe with certainy.. and in your own selves, do you not see? And this man is composed of sic things, and they are: his physical body, his nafs (that has desire), his nafs (that has anger), his nafs that is devilish, and his soul that is angelic.. and his intelligence. And the one who has power over hearing and vision is Allah! so He has created them alone, and enabled them to function, He preserves them and causes them to become ill, and makes them hear and see The composition of the eye and its nerves how they perceive things! The composition of teh ear and its parts, how they perceive sound! In all of this are amazing things that cause the mind to be amazed! and spin the head! But many people pass by these signs while being heedless of them as if they do not see or perceive.. And indeed many among people are unaware of our signs And the One who brings the living from thed ead, and the dead from the living is Allah alone! Listen! How great is the Creator Lord, the Exalted! And How great is His Ability! And how perfect is His work?! Both the seed and the grain are put in the earth in the same way, but what comes out of them is plant and tree?!

or look at the egg - big and small - one brings forth a chick, and the other brings out a human being! This is enough to exhaust man in reflecting and being amazed by the greatness of Allah, the perfection of His ability, the vastness of His knowledge and the beauty of His creation! If you begin reflecting on these things your life would go in just being amazed and feeling chills! So Exalted in the Knowing, Able One! Where in the grain was the material that made the ear / shoot stand? and where in the seed was the wood hidden? where were the leaves branches, fruits hidden? when in the seed were the branches, trunk and fruit? and where in the seed was the taste, flavour, fragrance and colour hidden? where were the dates hidden? And where in the egg was the chick hidden? where were its bones and flesh, feathers? And where in the human egg were hidden mans flesh and bones, nerves and mucles, his hearing and vision? his head and limbs? his thought and his actions, his speech and movements? This creation is so amazing! mans creation how tiny is the human egg! but it contains with it everything about the human being that it will develop into! Not just related to his physical appearance / characteristics but his abilities also! This is the creation of Allah, so show me what have those other than Him made? rather the wrongdoers are in clear error! The food that man eats turns into blood and this blood runs through the body adn whatever toxins the blood carries are expelled from the body! And whatever nutrition it carried was taken by the different parts of the body and whatever toxins do not expel naturally, then you take them out through hijamah / cupping These living beings can only come about because of the Living God! He is the Ever Living! There is no god but He, so call upon Him making religion / worship sincere to Him alone, and all praise for Allah the Lord of the worlds Now the next chapter will be about the rooh This amazement, and faith cannot come without knowledge and that too when you do it together.. you could read on your own, but when you read in a group the affect is far greater. May this knowledg increase us in our faith and actions.
