Fiqhut Targheeb watarheeb: Targheeb: encouragement, tarheeb: to instill fear (page 665) Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah " and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised. We were your allies in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful. [Surah Fussilat: ] - This is the reward of being Airm on the Deen - So those who say that their Lord is Allah: He is their Creator, Provider, Lord and then they remain Airm on this faith: they dont leave this belief, regardless of how the situation became. Such people receive Allah s special mercy, and Allah the Exalted gives them special treatment.. - In this world also: in the time of fear and worry, the angels comfort them and support them - - do not grieve: over what you suffer in Allah s way, what you lose and what you fear - rejoice over jannah that you are promised in the Quran: for all your hard work - In the hereafter also: The Airst stage of the hereafter is the grave and Allah the Exalted gives stability and Airmness to those who believe in the test - In paradise: all your wishes will be fulailled, so if you have to let go of something right now, then worry not. - All this will be from Allah, the Lord who is very forgiving and Merciful. - These are the friends of Allah: these are the people whose path we should follow, whose company we should embrace, and we should try to become of their ranks: those who have istiqamah: in ilm (knowledge) and in amal (action) - when a person does not remain Airm on ilm, (stops learning or teaching), then being Airm on amal also becomes difaicult - So we should accept Allah as our Lord, recognize HIm, know Him express this faith verbally also: at the time of every difaiculty express your belief in Allah, Allah is enough for me trust on Him, and be pleased with Him not matter what happens in life: some loss, pain, hardship know that He is there, He will take care of you your job is to obey Him, and be Airm on the right path, the path that He has chosen for us, we should be Airm on it, until we die upon it and at the time of death the angels will congratulate such people - If a person is worried or with a broken heart, and someone comes and says something nice, gives some good news, then that good news is very encouraging, it takes the sadness away. So the angels will bring good news to the believer at the time of death - Allah honours such servants who remain Airm on His path - when a person displeases people for the sake of Allah, then he Ainds himself alone.. he feels like he is lonely, but the one who has Allah is not alone, the one who has angels is not alone. So such people are encouraged and motivated here, that you are not alone. because jannah is waajib on you, and there all your wishes will be fulailled, and Allah fulaills His promises. - So what is really valuable: the truth and sincerity with which a person believes and professes that belief and lives it. When you believe that Allah is your Lord, that means you also believe that He is your provider also. so then any hardship that comes in obedience to Him should not stop you from obeying Him. This is how a person really has istiqamah: believing in Allah without doubt. with full faith and conaidence. - When a person does not have doubt in Allah, then he can remain focused on obedience

2 - Who can have a better life than this? Peace in dunya, peace at the time of death, peace in the greatest gathering - Grit: the common trait of all successful people. The biggest problem for millennial is that they lack this grit, they dont have stability - For istiqamah in actions, you need to stay in the right environment also. - qaaloo: its plural. In Surah Kahf also the youths: they had believed in their Lord and Allah increased them in guidance Allah strengthened their hearts the Prophet (s) is commanded in the same surah to remain in the company of those who remember their Lord in the morning and evening - If you wish to see yourself, that who are you, then look at the Aive closest people to you: you are their average. in a very subtle way you get affected by them - Istiqamah is that in all situations and circumstances you dont stop obeying Allah: regardless of what place or people you are in, what event it may be you are Airm on obedience to Allah: so you dont forget your salah, your hijab, your values and principles you have gained from Quran and sunnah. Such are true believers - at the time of death a person has a sense of grief and sadness: separation from people is painful but the angels remove that sadness also: dont be sad - Someone sent an audio clip to Ustadhah today: Shaykh Abdul Kareem Khudair saw his father in a dream 2 months after his death. he saw his fathers face in a cloud radiant and shining. he asked his father where are you? he said in jannah. asked, why did Allah give you this? he said because of Quran. The son said his father would recite the Quran a lot: at home and while travelling, in every situation: this is istiqamah. - some people recite Quran even when drowsy. Is our recitation of Quran also like this? would we reicte the Quran on our wedding day? or the day that someone close to us has passed away? - IStiqamah is that you do what you do not because someone pushed you or told you but because of internal motivation. - Istiqamah until the descent of the angels: - the angels also watch us our routine, habits, how regular / irregular we are And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. - Here, Allah (swt) informs us that He will certainly test His servants. Istiqamah is seen when some difaiculty comes, when two options are available (one easy one difaicult). So through such tests Allah examines us - Allah is informing us from before - with so much emphasis, that deainitely, certainly, there is an oath here - Why do tests come? so that the truthful and the liar can be differentiated. The patient and impatient are separated. - If a person always remains in comfort without any hardship, then the truthful will not be known - So to reveal the truthful, and to reveal the hypocrites Allah will test people

3 - To purify metal, or to clean something, it is exposed to heat. So difaiculties purify the faith of a person, they get rid of the impurities of doubt, disease, etc. - Allah does not waste the faith of His servants: the change of qiblah was to see who would follow the Messenger and who would turn back on his heels - if ultimately, the ka;bah was to be the qiblah, then why in the middle the people were to face baitulmaqdis? to test them. some people turn 180 degrees in ruku (would you be able to do that?) this is an example of Ittibaa : this was a test. - Likewise, Allah puts the servant in different tests: sometimes Ainancial, sometimes other tests. - But it was made clear that the Iman of the people was not going to be wasted. The purpose of the test is not to fail people, to waste their efforts, rather the purpose of the test is to strengthen people. Tests is life mature people. When you put mud bricks int he furnace, the heat will harden them, make them stronger. So the purpose of tests is to strengthen us, not break us. - Khawf: fear here does not mean fear of animals or heights it is the fear that a person experiences in the way of Allah - hunger: one of the scholars had raw Aish because he had no time to cook it. the Prophets family did not light the stove for months - shortage of wealth: for the sake of the deen you have to opt for work that does not necessarily pay that well. but you take it because of the religious ease in it. you get a smaller house because its close to the masjid - anfus: in your own body you feel a decline, your health deteriorating perhaps.. and others pity you too.. - fruits: sometimes your efforts yield good results, and sometimes nothing you work so hard to learn your lesson to memorize the surah.. and still you dont manage to do well - such difaiculties dishearten people so many people start memorizing the Quran but very soon they give up.. the thing is that at the beginning, things are tough, time is needed for everything to settle down, this is why good news is for the patient - sabr: self-control, hold yourself Airm on losing something, gaining something, difaiculty do not do at such times what displeases Allah - shayin: nakirah: for taqleel (to show that it is going to be a little bit): a little bit of fear, not all life long hunger: you wont die because of it this world is like the mosquitos wing or even less. so whatever loss you face, just tell yourself it was only a little bit, only mosquitos wing so any worldly loss is insigniaicant. - Istiqamah and sabr are similar: both require that you hold yourself Airm. In istiqamah you have to make yourself Airm on something whether things are easy or difaicult. sabr is Airmness despite difaiculty, or when facing sudden, unexpected difaiculty. Sabr at the time of loss - You see the results of doing something for 40 years so the most beloved of deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if they may be very little - Aasim was blind himself, and taught the quran. And the recitation of Hafs from Aasim is the most famous today. Ibn Masud was short with thin legs, yet he was known for his recitation of the Quran. And give good tidings to the believers that they will have from Allah great bounty. [Ahzab: 47]

4 - Fadl is more than what you deserve. It is surplus. So it is not what the believers deserve, but what Allah will bestow upon them as a favour and reward for their Iman and Istiqamah - Poetry. those who give love also receive love life becomes easy then. When the Prophet (s) came after the Airst revelation he was so scared, but look at the conaidence that Khadija gave him. she supported him and helped him. everyone needs love. and through love you win hearts, and you spread good. - Who is giving good news? Allah. To who? the believers. of what? fadlan kabeera: more reward, beyond their recompense Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward. [Isra: 9] - The Quran guides to what is most correct - A great reward that a person cannot even imagine - Aqwam also means a laa: best, superior, most excellent. And this is true: The akhlaq and actions that the Quran guides people to are really the best. The best moral standard. For example, they prefer others over themselves even though they are in need - Amal saalih includes the obligations, the sunan, the recommended deeds - great reward: this cannot be in dunya, so indication is to the reward in the hereafter Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whose width is like the width of the heavens and earth, prepared for those who believed in Allah and His messengers. That is the bounty of Allah which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty. [Hadeed: 21] - Race ahead, run! - To attain this great bounty it is necessary we run, strive, keep going - saabaqa: to race ahead in competition when you someone getting ahead you should worry about getting ahead of them also advance ahead - It is this striving that will bring forgiveness - so do not delay seeking forgiveness. leave sins. - only then can you get Allah s approval, and then jannah - when a person runs towards Allah s approval, then Allah is pleased with him. And when Allah is pleased with him, He rewards him. rewards him with jannah. How big is Jannah? whats the biggest house a person could have in this world? and for how long? And no matter how big your house is, you can only stay in one room. and you cant keep changing rooms every day - Run as far ahead as you can.. imagine if someone says run as far as you can, and whatever distance you can cover is all yours so its up to you how much do you run, how far do you run, what portion of Jannah do you desire - Allahs mercy is vast, we should try to receive some of it at least we need to become those who are worthy of it - what slows us down in this race? we all should think about what prevents me from racing ahead in the way of Allah? what slows me down? if we slow down in this race, then whatever is causing is to slow down is really not worth it. And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous [Ali Imran: 133]

5 - sur ah: to be quick. meaning, rush, do not delay - when you ask Allah for jannah, then ask Him for Airdaus for it is the highest level, best, and from it the rivers of jannah Alow and its ceiling is the Throne of the Merciful - This Jannah is prepared for the muttaqin - Taqwa makes a person reach this level. The more you strive and work out of Allah s fear, and avoid disobedience, the farther you will go. - Taqwa is the fuel for sur ah Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses - We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted in Might and Wise. - Now tarheeb is mentioned - In the torture of Aire there is pain and burning. May Allah protect us all. This is the worst form of punishment - The skins will be replaced again and again: according to the level of their kufr. The punishment will of varying degrees. It will be equal to the level of kufr. - He is HAkeem: He does not punish just like that. If He punishes here this is based on His wisdom, and His warning of it from before is also because of His wisdom. But those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide forever. For them therein are purified spouses, and We will admit them to deepening shade. - Here also, the reward for Iman and amal saalih is mentioned: every kind of blessing that a person wishes for and desires. - These are things that people wish for in this world - Shade: under dense tall trees such trees are beautiful and attract everyones attention and some trees look beautiful in all seasons. - When Iman is mentioned, then all categories of faith are included: belief in all the pillars and such Iman leads to amal saalih, which includes all types of good deeds: of the tongue, heart, limbs and so the reward will be according to the deeds. This reward will be from Allah alone: we will admit them - foods and drinks, spouses, beautiful companionship all this for eternity And those who have believed and done righteous deeds - We will surely assign to them of Paradise [elevated] chambers beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers Who have been patient and upon their Lord rely. - The best of righteous deeds are sabr and tawakkul: The more sabr a person has the more reward he will get. - So amal should be for Allah. sabr over hardship and Ibadah, on being on the straight path. and only with tawakkul can a person attain the right result
