2 SEVEN VACANCIES Ministers of Religion Ahmadiyya Muslim Community 1 Arabic Speaker Russian Speaker Indonesian Speaker Urdu Speakers vacancies We are a UK registered charity organised as a religious community We also run our own training academy and TV channels for viewers all over the world ABOUT THE ROLES We are inviting applications for the above seven posts of Minister of Religion All candidates will be expected to lead congregational prayers have a dynamic preaching record and be fully conversant with both Arabic and Urdu languages and have the additional main qualificationsexperience listed below The successful applicants may be posted at any one of the mission centres in the UK These are permanent positions to help meet the communitys growing spiritual and religious needs Likely posting Main qualificationwork Minister of Religion training Teach and edit Arabic magazine Arabic speaker academy London Prepare and present religious programmes on TV Headquarters London SW18 Prepare and present religious programmes on TV Headquarters London SW18 Prepare present and supervise preaching activities Headquarters London SW18 Prepare present on TV and supervise preaching activities Headquarters London SW18 Research present on TV and edit preaching articles Editorial office London SW19 Russian speaker Indonesian speaker Urdu speaker Urdu speaker Urdu speaker Minister of Religion training Teach and edit Urdu magazine Urdu speaker academy London JOB DESCRIPTION You would be required to do some or all of the following lead congregational prayers and encourage attendance at obligatory prayers; deliver sermons on Fridays and other gatherings; preach and propagate to members of the public the teachings of the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community; defend the teachings against opponents and nonbelievers; translate literature and correspondence in or from the relevant languages specified above; carry out research on secular and nonsecular subjects publish periodicals participate in intercommunity matters; liaise with members of the community and resolve their social problems; introduce programmes; host talk shows current affairs or religiouscultural educational programmes; read news sports or weather reports; report on issues and events; attend production and community management meetings; attend promotional events conferences and social functions; liaise with the Production Manager to identify the needs of the targeted audience in South 98 1 East Asia or Russia; working with the Channel Head and the wider team contribute creatively to longterm strategy to ensure maximum audience appeal and attain set targets EXPERIENCE REQUIRED You must have a wide range of knowledge in the Holy Quran Ahadith Traditions of the Prophet of Islam and Islamic topics and preferably be familiar with the writings of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community and of his claims gained through an intensive course of private or college study of not less than four years fulltime You must have interpretation skills in Urdu and Arabic languages and in respect of the second and third advertised vacancies with some understanding of either Indonesian or Russian You must have served as a Minister of Religion for not less than two years and have a good record of performance You will preferably have some previous broadcasting experience although not essential and a strong understanding of our targeted audiences particularly in the East and the ability to read and predict local trends You should also possess good interviewing listening and spoken communication skills be able to follow instructions and memorise facts and also have good planning and organisational ability You need to have a confident and relaxed manner in dealing with members of the public We expect you to be able to work under pressure QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED You are expected to have either a Shahid degree or equivalent gained from attending a Jamia Ahmadiyya college at NVQ level or a UK degree level or equivalent qualification in Islamic religious studies or professional qualification; or a relevant HND level qualification; or an HND level qualification that is not relevant plus two years relevant work experience; or at least three years relevant experience at NVQ level or above PACKAGE The stipendcustomary offerings package include the following Above minimum wage or per annum for hours a week on average; plus rent free accommodation with all utilities eg rates gas electricity paid; travel expenses reimbursed; 8 paid holidays per annum; private medical insurance cover Closing Date May Please apply to MansoorShah@ahmadiyyaukorg OR write to The National President Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK 1 Gressenhall Road London SW18 QL AMJ
