1 THE S OF DR UMAR AZAM VOL. 17 MAY 2008 RE: Interpreting Daydreams Friday, 2 May, :23 "Arshi Ali" <aali@panaceapharma.com> Wa laikum salam, Arshi Climbing up a ladder to get to the clouds represents progress in matters of religion, as well as success of ambitions in life. Your eldest brother-in-law is as ambitious and as kind-hearted as yourself, a benevolent, religious person. Your grandfather has passed away; death in a dream represents the end of a phase in life. Hence, you have stopped being a materialist i.e. thinking it important or enjoyable to buy beautiful things whilst out shopping. The fact that you are now more holy is represented by the white domes of the shops representing matters spiritual [mosques] rather than goods [commerce]. Your being in Africa fits in with wanting to do charity work in the future by helping the needy; after all, many of the poorest people on Earth are in Africa. Children need the most help and you have dreamt of African children having fun [riding elephants], presumably after being helped. I think this means that you will be successful in your mission. Finally, if you re only 35 years old, you re still young! Insha Allah, you ll live to be seventy or more, so you re only half-way there. And it does not take long to accomplish much individually if you have the resources certainly not 35 years! It is laudable that you have these noble intentions; may Allah Most High smooth your path for you! 2 family. I am 35 years old you would thing by this age I would learn that these dream may never come true. This is very hard to accept for me. The next three paragraphs are my sleep induced dreams. A year ago I had a dream where my home was in the clouds. The only way up to it was by a ladder. I was climbing it but could not get into my own home. My eldest brother in-law finally helped me get into my own home. It is wierd that I had a dream with him when he is Pakistan. In one dream I was out shopping (my favorite past time), the shops were white domes, and everthing was white. My grandfather that I saw back in 1986 was also there. My Grandfather had past away in 93. Anyway I am shopping, and there are beautiful things but I don't see anything I like. This is the last and maybe the wierdest to my way of thinking, I am in a place like a Africa. I see baby elephants and children who are all dirty and maybe even nude. I feel as if I am there. I see kids riding on the elephant. These dreams make no sense to me. The ones that I am awake for make even less sense to me. I really appreciate the time you have taken to read this . If you cannot make sense of it don't worry about it. The fact that you took some time out to respone is very appreciated. 4 I am making the point in my book DREAMS IN ISLAM that, if a person is righteous, then he or she can benefit from religious dreams which contain messages and guidance from Allah Most High. And my research papers such as DREAMS OF REWARD IN PARADISE, DREAMS OF KNOWLEDGE AND SCHOLARSHIP and TRUE DREAMS all give examples of actual dreams, which I have myself experienced, to emphasise the point of religious dreams being messages from God. Do you not think that this in-depth research is valuable because it is original? Not much Islamic research on dreams has been done in the past; it is a rare field of studey. You ve been happy with the attention Shazad has given you; hence you were showing the baby boy to people. I was wondering if you could help me, being an expert I would like to you to interpret a profound dream that I had a couple of years ago. The dream took place in an area where I used to live as a child. It was in the suburbs, down a street on a bright, sunny warm day, where my old school friend and I sat in an ice cream van drinking coffee. I decided to get some items and asked my friend to hold my coffee, and went to a small corner shop, which had a prison located just around it. Prisoners hand cuffed, could purchase items with a guard watching over them. The shop itself was a brilliant white inside. I purchased my items, came back to the van, by that time my friend had finished drinking my coffee. So, I went to get another coffee at the shop. There I saw an African or Afro carribean man cuffed, in an orange suit, stood by the magazine stall, with a guard. I walked over to the counter ready to purchase my items, when a poster, located on a wall, next to the exit door, caught my eye. It was an advertisement for a film; a woman (a jewish actress) in a 19th century peasant attire was stood on a rock, protesting about rights, or something to that effect. I thought 'yet another propaganda film', but to my surprise I saw a list of critics that praised the film, especially a man called Abdullah, who stated 'the film was great', to that affect anyway. As I walked out I found myself transforming into this woman, I then looked up to the sky and a brown open book emerged from the light blue sky, it was written in Olde English, stating that 'God has ordained 3 sons to be born to me and that each one would have great power, power that would be used in a good way. Although I could see the text written in gold, I didn't read those words, I felt those words, as if God was speaking to me directly.
