Keep them steadfast in your Word, protect and comfort them in all temptations, defend them against all their enemies, and bestow on the Church your saving peace; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

12 OFFERING PRAYER Let us pray. God of mercy and grace, the eyes of all wait upon you, and you open your hand in blessing. Fill us with good things at your table that we may come to the help of all in need, through Jesus Christ, our redeemer and Lord. Amen. WORDS OF INSTITUTION LORD S PRAYER Lord, remember us in your kingdom and teach us to pray. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come,

13 thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. INVITATION TO COMMUNION Everyone is welcome to the table. You may join praying hands ministers after you commune for a time of prayer. All are welcome at the Lord's table to receive the precious gift of His body and blood, regardless of your denominational background. At our Saturday evening and early Sunday services, communion is distributed at the altar rail. Please come forward to kneel or stand at the altar rail. You may dip your wafer in the wine or grape juice or drink from the common cup. At our 11 am service, we commune while standing at the head of the aisles. You may dip the bread into the wine or grape juice and return to your seats.

Basic Premise #2 We welcome and accept people wherever they are in their faith journey, and trust God to take them where He wants them to be, and on His timetable. Basic Premise #3 - People want relationships, not religion. a. Authentic Christianity is a relationship, not a religion. b. They don t care what you know until they know that you care. c. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and they re always glad you came. Basic Premise #4 Positioning: We play to our strengths. We aren t interested in trying to be another church. We learn from others, but adapt what we like to our situation. There isn t one single way that works, or one size that fits all. Basic Premise #5 - Just because we ve always done things in a certain way is not, in and of itself, a sufficient reason for continuing to do it that way. God loves us just the way we are, but He doesn t expect us to stay that way. Basic Premise #6 God pays for what God orders. Basic Premise #7 With God, nothing is impossible. If you would like to decorate your car and hand out candy, sign up in The Narthex. Stephen Ministry The role of Stephen Ministers is to give care. They listen, empathize, encourage, pray, and provide emotional and spiritual support on a weekly basis to hurting people for as long as the need persists. God works in and through them to bring hope and healing. If you are feeling lonely, experiencing a crisis, struggling through a difficult time, or simply stressed by everyday life, talk with one of our Stephen Leaders Pastor Brad and Mandy Bellah to learn more about Stephen Ministry. Prayer Station This Week October 27-28: Here I stand! What is it in your faith that gives you firmness and determination? What is it that you rely on when things are hard and the chips are down? This week our prayer station will focus on where we place our faith, and what gives us determination when times are tough.

20 Family Justice Center October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This weekend, we will be providing entries for a drawing of "Broken Pieces Jewelry" hand crafted by local artist, Lisa Garner, who has donated 4 beautiful pendants to help raise money for the Family Justice Center. A $2 donation allows for one entry, a $5 donation allows for three. The drawing will be October 29. Blood Drive Our next Blood Drive will be Saturday, November 3 from 8 am 1 pm. Please consider donating. The Red Cross is in desperate need of blood. Due to hurricanes, many drives have been cancelled. For those of you who would like to donate, but have been turned away due to low hemoglobin, please add some of these iron rich foods to your diet: beef, chicken, liver or eggs; seafood such as shrimp, clams, scallops or tuna; and for those who might be vegetarian: spinach, sweet potatoes, broccoli, or tofu. Avoid drinking tea or coffee or having too many calcium rich foods for the best absorption.
