Besides talking about the joys of the Kingdom, preaching necessarily involves pointing out the wickedness of this present world. Was the outcome satisfactory and did that affect their continuation of the preaching? Can you think of a comparison to a modern day situation and write down some similar modern tactics? What tools were required by the teacher/preacher? What similar tools do we need today?

48 20 Preaching and Teaching Tactics Smile! Be friendly! - Are you happy or not? Listen. No one likes one way conversations. Use what they say to your advantage. Patience Reason, not argue, with people who are willing to listen Rejoice over ONE who responds Show compassion, not judgment in your spirit Consistency Defend principles meekly and with respect Show conviction The power of personal testimony Find common ground Don t tear things down until you ve built things up Pray about it. Jesus will help you you are not alone Do not be anxious but confident in Jesus Try to use we and not you in your discussion Sit if possible do not talk down but with Use reasonable logic and clear points Don t be afraid to say, I m not sure how to answer that Validate any good points they make. Assure them you are listening. Ask them questions. Help them answer their own questions. Every person is a candidate for the gospel
