2 Matthew 28: While the women were on their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief priests everything that had happened.12 When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money,

3 Matthew 28: telling them, You are to say, His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep. 14 If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble. 15 So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day.

5 Fulfilment of scripture and his words

6 Luke 24: On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

7 Luke 24: While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, Why do you look for the living among the dead?

8 Luke 24: He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.

9 Luke 24: Then they remembered his words. 9 When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles.

10 John 2: Jesus answered, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again. 20 This temple took forty-six years to build, the Jews replied, and You are going to raise it up in three days?

11 John 2: But Jesus was speaking about the temple of His body. 22After He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this. Then they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.

12 Appeared to more than 500 people

13 1 Corinthians 15:6 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep.

14 Acts 1: 1-4 (NIV) 1 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

17 Luke 24: While they were describing these events, Jesus Himself stood among them and said, Peace be with you. 37 But they were startled and frightened, thinking they had seen a spirit. 38 Why are you troubled, Jesus asked, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

18 Luke 24: Look at My hands and My feet. It is I Myself. Touch Me and see for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have. 40 And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

19 Luke 24: While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, Do you have anything here to eat? 42 So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish 43 and He took it and ate it in front of them.

20 Without Resurrection, our Faith is dead

21 1 Corinthians 15:12-15 (NIV) 12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.

22 1 Corinthians 15:12-15 (NIV) 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.

25 Ephesians 1 : I ask that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe. He displayed this power in the working of His mighty strength,

26 Ephesians 1 : which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in the one to come.

27 Romans 1:1-4 1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, and set apart for the gospel of God, 2 which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures,

28 Romans 1:1-4 3 regarding His Son, who was a descendant of David according to flesh, 4 and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

29 3: What does resurrection mean for us today?

30 a) Hope for eternity (our resurrection we will be raised) the trumpet

31 2 Corinthians 4 : It is written: I believed; therefore I have spoken. [b] Since we have that same spirit of[c] faith, we also believe and therefore speak,14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself.

32 b) Hope for now

33 2 Corinthians 4: Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

34 1 Corinthians 2: 8-9 8None of the rulers of this age understood it. For if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 Rather, as it is written: No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.

35 Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

36 c) Salvation for all.

37 1 Corinthians 15:3 4 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
