1 Buildings for God's Kingdom 'Buildings for God's Kingdom' PCC survey- your input is valued Introduction The Anglican Communion defines Mission as the Five Marks of Mission, which are: 'To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom To teach, baptise and nurture new believers To respond to human need by loving service To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, and sustain and renew the life of the earth. (Anglican Communion). This survey is aimed at PCCs to consider and submit a response. It explores the impact of church projects on the missional life of churches in the Diocese of Chester over the last decade. It also seeks to gain the views of parishes on the best way forward to managing spaces/s used by churches in the future. How the findings will be used As a Diocese, the findings will help us consider how best to support one another by identifying common patterns of aspirations, needs, opportunities and good practice. We are also interested to open up discussions around s, to which this survey is the first step to listen to as many viewpoints as possible. As appropriate, findings may also be used for advocacy to provide evidence of the resources needed by churches to manage s and offer an insight to the impact of the church in local communities. The findings from the survey will also form part of a Diocesan publication called Buildings for God s Kingdom', which will also feature case study examples. This short publication aims to provide inspiration for parishes seeking to realise the potential of their own church (s), offer top tips from those who have been through the process and provide a broader perspective on the role of s in our Diocese.
