Ron discusses net worth as the sum of every financial decision that a person makes, which can be quantified and, therefore, measured on a periodic basis. PRINCIPLES AND PRECEPTS Biblical Wisdom: Provisions vs. Protection But if anyone does not for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. (1 Timothy 5:8 NKJV) Where does wealth come from? Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved even in his sleep. (Psalm 127:1-2 NASB) What does this mean? Do not weary yourself to gain, cease from your consideration of it. When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings, like an eagle that flies toward the heavens. (Proverbs 23:4-5 NASB) Implications? Security vs. giving, etc....from everyone who has been given much shall much be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
