Journal of Philosophy and Scripture (Villanova Graduate Journal) The Journal of Philosophy and Scripture is an e-journal dedicated to reading scripture in light of philosophy and to examining philosophy in light of scripture. The Journal's task is informed by three primary aims: (1) to encourage philosophical discussions of religion to attend to the primary 7

9 sacred texts (e.g. the Bible, the Qur'an, the Bhagavad-Gita) that fundamentally shape the religions under discussion, (2) to encourage a process of mutual reflection by means of which both philosophy and scripture may be more clearly illuminated, and (3) to do the above with a keen eye to possible effects on the ways in which we practice philosophy and religion. JPS is committed to fostering discussion involving a wide range of philosophical perspectives and religious traditions. We are especially interested in papers that engage directly with specific passages of scripture, but we also welcome papers that deal with general issues relating to the intersection of philosophy and scripture. JPS is a journal created and edited by graduate students in philosophy at Villanova University. 12 11. Journal of Theological Interpretation (Eisenbrauns) Critical biblical scholarship as developed and defined since the mid-eighteenth century has played a significant and welcome role in pressing us to take biblical texts seriously on their own terms and diverse contexts. With the postmodern turn, additional questions have surfaced including the theological and ecclesial location of biblical interpretation, the significance of canon and creed for biblical hermeneutics, the historical reception of biblical texts, and other more pointedly theological interests. How might we engage interpretively with the Christian Scriptures so as to hear and attend to God's voice? The Journal of Theological Interpretation aims to serve these agendas. Publication Type: Articles Citation Style: Chicago (endnotes or footnotes) Word Count Details: word cap. Web Address: Submissions: jbgreen@fuller.edu Contact jbgreen@fuller.edu Notes: The Journal encourages the following: theological exegesis of selected biblical texts concerns of theological method and the role of Scripture in theology and ethics the history of reception or history of interpretation of biblical texts major review essays interacting with key books, contemporary or classical hermeneutical challenges in theological exegesis 12. New Blackfriars (Wiley/Blackwell) Founded in 1920 as a focus of Catholic Christian reflection on current events, New Blackfriars publishes articles and book reviews of general interest, with an emphasis on theology, philosophy and cultural studies. Theology, for New Blackfriars is ecumenical. The journal welcomes contributions in moral and practical theology, with an emphasis on matters of social justice. As regards philosophy, New Blackfriars is as open to the Continental hermeneutic tradition as to the analytic approach. While the thought of Thomas Aquinas will always remain the touchstone of serious intellectual engagement with questions of Christian faith and doctrine, New Blackfriars does not represent any particular version of Thomism.
