32 Grandmother, I Honor You Grandmother made herself known to me in May of This magnificent being I only know as "Grandmother" graciously came to guide me through my vision quest, and I am eternally grateful. I only wish to honor her with the reverent respect which she deserves. "Grandmother" is a title of respect rather than a personal name or reference to biological maternal status. One who is called "grandmother" would not necessarily even have grandchildren. Referring to or about someone with the title "grandmother" is like calling them "one who is to be revered and honored. One who is called "grandmother" might be referred to as a tribal elder. This title of exaltation "Grandmother" is given to wise elders as an honorary title that shows respect, reverence, and esteem. All I knew in the beginning was that Grandmother wasn't MY grandmother; but the title Grandmother was one of high esteem and honor bestowed on one of age, experience, and wisdom. And I knew that Grandmother was nonphysical, in spirit form. I knew that she had come at the time appointed for divine purpose. Since then I have been blessed to receive wisdom, knowledge, and understanding from Grandmother, who is now an honored guest in much of my sacred spiritual practice. I am thankful for her presence, her loving kindness, and her devotion to divine purpose. I understand that in honoring Grandmother, I honor all Grandmothers and Grandfathers, all sacred elders, all wise souls and revered beings who have come before. Grandmother welcomes this honor in behalf of all who command such reverence. As I honor Grandmother, I honor my ancestors, my spiritual family, and all that is and has come before. I honor Divine nature, wisdom, and omniscience. I honor all that was, is, and shall be. Grandmother, I honor you.

33 Wolf Spirit Calls Experience your connection to Wolf Spirit. Wolf Spirit is teacher medicine. Wolf is a pathfinder, and comes to us when we are in need of guidance on our path. Wolf Spirit hungers for knowledge and adventure, and derives pleasure from sharing that which is learned. When you are teaching others with love and devotion, you are embracing Wolf Spirit. Wolf Spirit teaches the sacredness of all life and the spiritual nature of all that exists. Wolf Spirit empowers you to take charge of your own reality. The Wolf instills in you the discipline and harmony to take ownership of your life experience. The Wolf trusts and is loyal. We manifest this in our loyalty to loved ones, principles, and ideals. We protect these with strength and conviction. Like the wolf, we prefer not to battle unnecessarily. We will go to great lengths to avoid walking into battle; but will fight fiercely to protect our family and home; the family of man, the family of life, and the home of this world. The Wolf is associated with lunar energy. The cycles of the moon draw our focus to emotional and unconscious urges. As we honor and respect our inner drive, we pay heed to Wolf Spirit. As we trust our intuition and listen to our inner voice, we lean on Wolf Spirit. Wolf Spirit loves the strength of family bonds. Your elders and your juniors all come to share something with you. You can learn from your experiences with every member of the tribe of man. Wolf Spirit inspires us to teach the young ones respect for the rights of others. We uphold these rights with honor. We walk in loving kindness and in strength. Wolves demonstrate their intent with body language. As you connect with Wolf Spirit, you communicate nonverbally with posture, gesture, and expressive eye contact. Wolf communicates with respect and gentleness. The Wolf respects animal natures, and compels us to face and trust our inner animal as well. The Wolf is a representation of that which is wild and free. Wolf calls us to the vanishing wilderness. This is a calling to one s personal vision quest; the revelation of one s path and purpose in life. Wolf Spirit loves the scents and sounds of nature. As you find pleasure in the sounds of birds singing, rain falling, and water flowing, you experience the call of Wolf Spirit. As you inhale the gentle sweetness of flowers, grass, and trees, you feel Wolf Spirit touch your soul. The voice of nature is the call of Wolf Spirit. Wolf Spirit is loyalty, honor, integrity, guardianship, power, and spirit.

34 Eagle Spirit Beckons Eagle Spirit is the intercession of Holy Spirit between man and God. The eagle flies high in the heavens and reaches down with the fingers of his wingtips to touch the earth, bridging Heaven and Earth, carrying with him the energy of man s petitions before the Great Spirit and Divine guidance for man. Eagle Spirit is manifest in two worlds. He passes through the veil of dimension to float effortlessly between the spirit world and the physical world. Eagle Spirit hears the voices of the ancestors and feels the hearts of grandchildren. He encourages intuition, inner guidance, and hearkening to the wisdom of our forefathers. Eagle Spirit reflects the higher self and reminds us to honor our higher selves. As we follow him upward with our gaze, we are drawn through the clouds and sky to higher realms. Our spirit soars with Eagle. Eagle symbolizes courage and strength. Our inner strength grows as we pay attention to the beauty, power, strength, and courage of Eagle. Courage wells up inside our bosoms and bursts forth into manifestation in our honorable deeds and steadfastness. Eagle is illumination. Rays of light filter through the sky and through his outstretched wings to shine upon us, and we are illuminated. Eagle whispers to us to find the truth within as he flies through our soul with enlightenment. Let your spirit wings unfurl. Fly on the wing of Eagle.
