1 Hi Friends, A belated Joyous Christmas and a Blessed New Year to one and all! In this Update, I have 4 items to share with you. 1. Rapture & Great Tribulation The up and coming Rapture & Great Tribulation Seminar in Feb 2015 will be held as follows: 3, 10 & 24 Feb, Tues, 8-10 pm, at Barker Road Methodist Church (Closing date: 20 Jan, Tues) 7 Feb, Sat, 10 am - 5 pm, at St Matthew s Anglican Church (Closing date: 20 Jan, Tues) 28 Feb, Sat, 9 am - 4 pm, at Hakka Methodist Church (Closing date: 12 Feb, Thurs) I thank Rev Malcolm Tan, Rev Stephen Lim & Rev Daniel Lee for inviting me to conduct the seminar for their members. Upon my request, these 3 Pastors have also kindly opened their doors to those who are not from their church to attend the seminar. If you are not attending any of these 3 churches, and would like to come for the seminar, please register with me. For the last one and a half months, in order to give the 209-page book on Rapture & Great Tribulation more breadth and depth, I had spent much time and effort at improving on the materials in the book. From 209 pages, it has now been beefed up to 350 pages, with an addition of another 141 more pages. First Edition (149 pages): May 2014 Second Edition (209 pages): July 2014 Third Edition (350 pages): Dec 2014 The 350-page book will probably be the final cap to the maximum number of pages in my book. Anything more will make the book unwieldy. Due to a genuine miscommunication between Molly and myself, we both have agreed to retract what was featured in my Ministry Update dated 28 Oct, What she has written should be reflected as follows:

2 If you have always believed in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church, but have only done so because of teaching that you have heard, I strongly recommend your attending one of George Ong's seminars on Rapture and Great Tribulation. He will challenge you to examine the Scriptures to see for yourself what they have to say, not because of what he believes but so that you can be convinced by the Scriptures. In today s church we are often tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine because we do not know what the Scripture says. How can we know what is true unless we can examine the truth of God s Word? If you want to know what the Bible teaches about the rapture, a word not even found in the Word of God, but one that describes our gathering together unto Him [Christ], you will find George Ong s book and his seminar an excellent source, compiling the main teachings on this subject. I challenge you to be a Berean (Acts 17:10-11), to examine for yourself what the Word of God has to say on this subject. George Ong's assembling of all the pertinent Scriptures will make this much easier for you. (Molly Farlow) Over the many past Ministry Updates, I have shown and explained the many Bible passages in which the Pre-trib doctrine has contradicted and added to God s word. In this Update, I will show yet another 4 passages that the Pre-trib doctrine has committed the same forbidden act.and there are more to come in my future updates. How teachers and preachers could treat such outright contradictions and additions to God s word lightly and flippantly brush them off, instead of viewing it with utmost seriousness and gravity as God would in Rev 22:18-19, baffles me to no end. If the fact that the Pre-trib doctrine which has contradicted so many plain and clear teachings of the Scriptures will not convince a person of its falsity, nothing else will. What s worrying is that people can get so used to, and blindly comfortable with the falsity of a doctrine, that truth can no longer penetrate. Instead of seeing truth-telling as the real normal, it is now seen as something that is annoyingly radical. This reminds me of what George Orwell ( ) aptly said, In an age of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. I take comfort in the wise sayings of two other thinkers: The truth does not change according to our ability to stomach it. (Flannery O Connor, ) All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. (Arthur Schopenhauer, ) The Pre-trib s doctrine about a secret and silent coming of Christ when He comes to rapture His saints is totally unbiblical and diametrically opposed to the teachings of Scriptures. On the contrary, the weight of evidence from almost every relevant verse and passage of Scripture describes the second coming as global, vivid, loud, sky-spectacular, and unmissable! So the idea that someone will have to tap a friend on the shoulder and say, I guess you haven t heard the latest. That Jesus that our Christian friends have been telling us about came yesterday, is reaching the peak of absurdity!

3 First, the Pre-trib secret rapture theory is based on the fact that Jesus will come as a thief in the night. The theory assumes that Christ will come secretly as a thief to steal away the righteous and carry them quietly to heaven. Christ s coming is described as a thief several times throughout the New Testament. Let s look at one of these passages and see if it describes a secret rapture. 2 Pet 3:10 (KJ) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. This very text says that when Jesus returns as a thief, the heavens will pass away with a great noise. Does that sound like a secret and silent event? Far from it! Even a child will laugh out loud if an adult tries to tell him that. If the noise of a falling bottle can wake a baby up, no one in his right mind will believe that a great noise from the destruction of heaven and earth will pass off unnoticed as a silent and secret activity. Second, let s look at Acts 1:9-11. Acts 1: After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 Men of Galilee, they said, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven. The angels told the disciples that Jesus would return to this earth in the same manner as when He left. Christ left in the clouds, and He will come back in the clouds. He was visible when He left, and He will be visible when He comes again. And everyone will see Him come. He had a real body which could be seen when He left, and He will return in the same way in a real body, seen by everybody. Is that coming an invisible coming or a secret coming? How did Jesus go to heaven following His resurrection? Did He go secretly and invisibly? No. The disciples watched Him rise, literally, visibly, bodily, into the air until a cloud hid Him from their sight. So these verses tell us that Jesus will return to earth the same way bodily, through the air until He can be seen by everybody, NOT SECRETLY! Jesus will come back from heaven to earth the same way as when He left from earth to heaven (Acts 1:11). His ascension was from earth into heaven and His return will be from heaven back to earth.

4 The same Jesus who went up to heaven from earth is coming straight back from heaven to earth. This truth is so simple and plain that anyone with a basic education can understand and yet, Pre- trib theologians missed it. The Pre-trib s teaching that Jesus makes a U-turn back to heaven for seven years (together with the raptured saints) after appearing out of a cloud is nowhere to be found in any text of Scripture. This is an idea which is being added and read into the text just to fit their doctrine. Heb 9:28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. It is clear as daylight that according to Heb 9:28 Christ will return a second time. Pre-tribbers must state clearly what this second appearing of Christ means in Heb 9:28. If they say this refers to the second coming of Christ when He comes for His Church to rapture them, which they do, then how do they account for another second coming of Christ seven years later, (the third coming), when Christ comes with His Church to defeat the Antichrist (according to their Pre-trib doctrine)? The Scripture teaches that there is only one second coming of Christ (Heb 9:28) whereas Pre-trib doctrine teaches that there are two second comings. The Pre-trib teaching of two second comings of Christ will result in a ridiculous situation that when we approach a text of Christ s coming, we will have to ask the question Is this text referring to the First second coming of Christ or the Second second coming of Christ? Pre-tribulationists tried to save the doctrine by arguing that it is not two second comings that they are posturing, but one second coming occurring in two phases. The first phase, being the Pre-trib rapture of the saints at His coming, and the second, His appearing when He comes with His saints to judge the world. By advancing a two-phased second coming of Jesus, Pre-tribulationists have once again daringly added to the word of God. There is nowhere in the Bible that records a two-phased second coming of Christ. NOWHERE! Again, the two-phased second coming of Christ is shown to be false from Acts 1:11. Acts 1:11 Men of Galilee, they said, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven. Did Jesus go to heaven in two phases? No! Then, He will not return in two phases either.

5 He left planet earth once and He will return the same way to planet earth once again (and not twice). And there are absolutely no Scripture verses to be found that support the idea of a two-phased second coming of Jesus Christ! As Jesus Christ left this earth after His resurrection, and as He was ascending up to heaven, His watching disciples were told: This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven. (See Acts 1:11) Well, did Jesus Christ have a TWO-phased departure from earth into heaven after His first coming? Did He go up part of the way, turn around and come back down, and then go back up all the way on a SECOND departure? NO! Jesus Christ simply ascended up (in ONE phase) into heaven! And the Bible says that He is coming back in THE SAME WAY! The disciples were told Christ will return the same way He left. What does that mean? It means the Church won t be raptured before the Tribulation. In Acts chapter 1, the disciples were speaking with Jesus just before He ascended to heaven after His Resurrection. Acts 1: Then they gathered around him and asked him, Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel? 7 He said to them: It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 Men of Galilee, they said, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven. 12 Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day s walk from the city. The disciples asked Jesus if He was going to restore the Kingdom to Israel at that time. This is referring to Christ s millennial reign when He reigns on the earth from Jerusalem (Rev 20:4-6). Christ says it is not for anyone to know at what time He will return to set up His Kingdom. As they are watching Him ascend into heaven on a cloud, two angels appear and tell them that when He returns it will be in the same way. What does that mean? It means that Jesus feet are on the ground of the Mount of Olives. He ascends to heaven from the Mount of Olives to a cloud (Acts 1:11-12).

6 This means that when He returns, He will descend from heaven from a cloud (1 Thess 4:13-18) until His feet once again touch the ground of the Mount of Olives (Zech 14:4). Pre-tribulationists teach that Jesus will pause in the air, gather the saints, and then go back into heaven is clearly false (1 Thess 4:13-18). Although Paul says believers will be snatched up in the air to meet Jesus, he never says that Jesus turns around, switches direction and goes back up to heaven for seven years. Pre-tribulationists have to insert that into the text to prove their doctrine. Jesus will not bungee jump down to cloud level, rapture the Church, and then bungee back up to heaven for another seven years. Does the Bible teach this? Why would Jesus go through all the trouble to bring the dead in Christ from heaven, then make a U-turn and go all the way back to heaven? Why would Jesus give them a resurrected body and then bring them back to heaven again, as after all, these dead saints have been living in the presence of Jesus in their soul state ever since they died? The reason Jesus is giving them a resurrected body is to enable the dead (who will be resurrected) and the living (who will be raptured) to live on earth and to reign with Him in His millennial kingdom...as 1 Cor 15:50-54 clearly states our bodies will be changed because flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. So according to Acts 1:6-12, this simply means that Christ has to pass through clouds to reach the earth. While He is still in the clouds, on His way to the earth, He gathers His elect (resurrection and rapture) for the final battle and then continues to earth to fight. His feet will finally touch the earth on the Mount of Olives. From there, He will go to wage war with the Antichrist and defeat him (Rev 19:11-21). Then Christ will set up His millennial Kingdom in Jerusalem on planet earth and reign with His saints. In the Pre-Trib view, since absolutely nothing is stated about Christ returning to heaven after he descended from there (1 Thess 4:13-18), it means that Christ will be flying around in the air with believers (like superman) for seven years before He touches the ground. Clearly, this is absurd and it is therefore an erroneous view. Last, let s look at 1 Thess 4: Thess 4: According to the Lord s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command (shout, KJ), with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

7 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Paul describes how the Lord Jesus will come and what will take place to the living and the dead in Christ at His coming. The Pre-trib view says that this is a secret, silent and invisible coming. Nobody sees Him come. He comes secretly to take the Church away. (Pre-Tribbers have to hold to this doctrine that the rapture is secret even though it is false because they know Jesus won t appear publicly to the world twice). Is it right or proper for a King to return unannounced and secretly snatch us away? Would someone of that level of majesty need to sneak in and out, unless there was something improper and dishonest about His coming? Scriptures speak out against this. It shows clearly in the word that as a King travels or goes forth, there are always those who shouted out His coming and those who ran alongside to prepare the way. If Jesus was not shy in talking about His glorious return, why would He take such strange steps to keep His return for His bride a secret? When a man goes to his betrothed and takes her away secretly to marry her, that is called eloping. Is Jesus secretly coming to elope with His bride? Never! Jesus is coming for His bride openly and publicly. While there is not a single verse that teaches about His secret coming, there are a whole host of verses that teach that Jesus return is not done sheepishly or secretly but publicly and with great power and glory (Matt 16:27, 24:27, 24:30-31, 25:31, Mk 8:38, 13:26, Lk 9:26, 17:24, 21:27, Tit 2:13, 2 Thess 1:7, Rev 1:7, etc). To be caught up (1 Thess 4:17) is not the same as to disappear in total secrecy. Yes, the Church is caught up but the Scripture does not say she will disappear. Yet, that s what Pretribbers are teaching. You don t need to have a theological degree to know that they have once again added to the word of God. When Pre-trib teachers teach that the bodies of raptured saints will suddenly disappear in secret, and no one sees them, it only reveals their ignorance that our resurrected (and raptured) bodies are not spirit bodies that cannot be seen by the naked eye and touched with our bare hands. As it can be proven in the resurrected body of Jesus, the resurrected body is a renewed physical body that can be touched and be seen by anyone and everyone. Our Lord Jesus in His resurrected body walked and talked with two men as they travelled to a nearby city in Emmaus. The Apostle Thomas touched the scars on the Lord s body and the resurrected Son of Man taught about His Kingdom to over 500 people at one time.

8 When it came for our Lord to leave, many people saw His resurrected body ascend to heaven. So the Pre-trib teaching that once our bodies are changed, we will secretly disappear from sight and no one would be able to see us, is evidently a false teaching. Pre-teachers expect you to believe that it is a secret rapture in that only believers will see their own resurrected bodies and hear the sound of the trumpet when there isn t a single scripture verse that backs it up. Even a child will not be fooled by the Pre-trib doctrine that the loud command and the deafening trumpet sound are meant only for Christians, while the rest won t even hear a single decibel of all those noisy activities. Just by the plain reading of the text in 1 Thess 4:13-17, this cannot be a secret, quiet and invisible coming. In fact, this is one of the least secret and silent passages in the Bible. Far from being silent, it is probably one of the noisiest passages in Scripture. The resurrection-rapture at Christ s coming is anything but silent or secret. It is done with loud proclamation and with great fanfare. There is the announcement by the archangel; THE KING IS HERE. The shout (V16, KJ) is a military shout of command. It is a war cry summoning the troops to battle for the destruction of His enemies. Then, this will be followed by the sound of the loud trumpet heralding His coming. When Pre-trib teachers teach of a silent coming of Christ, they forget that there is no such thing as a silent trumpet. Does anyone ever come across someone blowing a trumpet without any sound emanating from the trumpet? If there is no sound, why blow the trumpet? Trumpets are not elegant and quiet instruments. Trumpets are loud and they have a piercing and deafening sound. If you wanted to sneak over to your neighbour s and secretly snatch something from his house, would you do it shouting at the top of your voice and blowing a thunderous trumpet? Absolutely not! People will think you are mad if you did. In the same way, it would be an impossible feat for Pre-tribbers to logically explain that if 1 Thess 4:13-17 indeed paints a scenario of a secret and silent rapture, why are there shouting and trumpet blowing in the same passage? Indeed, the trumpet sound will be so loud that even the dead will hear it. And the dead in Christ will rise. They come with the Lord in the spirit and receive a new immortal body as they come out of their graves. This is the day we will see our loved ones who have died in the Lord. It is the day of their appearing. Furthermore, we who are alive will be changed into a glorious body too.

9 Then together with them, we will be caught up to meet the Lord in the cloud and in the air. Wow! What a day! What a sight! The graves bursting open, the saints receiving a new body, the heavens all aglow, millions upon millions of His saints all shouting. It seems that everything on earth will be announcing the great and glorious truth that Jesus has come. There will be singing, shouting, laughing, and arm-waving joyously offered in celebration and worship at this majestic and climatic event. They will be shouting loud praises as they rise in their new immortal bodies, proclaiming, O Death, where is thy sting? O Grave, where is thy victory? The resurrection-rapture event at Jesus second coming will probably be the noisiest event this world will ever see, not a silent, mysterious secret. How all these noisy and joyous activities can be a secret and silent event is just beyond human logic and comprehension. If anyone can make a secret and silent coming out of this Scripture, language has no significance at all. There is no secrecy here! It is open, visible, audible; yet it is Christ s parousia. Pre-tribbers have painted themselves into a corner with the fact that their teaching of a secret and silent rapture is ironically contradicted by 1 Thess 4:13-17, the number one key text which undergirds their Pre-trib doctrine. But what s totally unacceptable is that Pre-trib theologians and teachers have made the resurrection (and rapture) of the saints which is supposed to be a climatic and an earth-shaking event into a secret, invisible, quiet and a low-key event, all in the interest and cause of supporting their unbiblical Pre-trib doctrine. This must have been one of the greatest injustices that they have committed against the resurrection-rapture event at Christ s coming. Far from being a secret and silent occasion, it is a momentous and cataclysmic event that ought to be magnificently celebrated in the grandest and most glorious way. If the Pre-trib doctrine cannot be supported at all from the Scriptures, and blatantly contradicts many Bible passages, including the plain and clear teachings of Jesus, the Son of God and the Apostle Paul, what else could be said, except to declare it as a false teaching, pure and simple! To say anything otherwise would be tantamount to lying. And as long as we continue to naively recognise it as an alternative interpretation to the rapture issue, the false Pre-trib doctrine will continue to perpetuate as it has for the last 180 years. Instead of skirting the issue and trying to be dishonestly diplomatic, the time has now come to boldly confront it head-on, and to reveal and denounce it as a false teaching. There is nothing for me to gain (and everything to lose) for taking such a strong stand against the false Pretrib doctrine, as what I have gotten so far are fiercer opposition, biting criticisms and a noticeably reduced number of speaking engagements arising from churches which have been offended.

10 I humbly accept the stark fact that whoever is called to lead the charge will be hit with most of the bullets. But if my calling is truly of the Lord, even the smallest flame of my call will never be extinguished by the strongest and the most formidable storms of criticisms and opposition. When Isaiah was called by God in Isa chapter 6, he responded with a splendid response, Here am I, Send me! (Isa 6:8) You would have thought that God was going to tell him, Hey Isaiah, my obedient son, I am so happy that you have responded. Tell you what; the people are going to shake your hands with a big smile on their faces after you have delivered the message and tell you, O Pastor Isaiah, what a wonderful and encouraging sermon you have preached! No, my friends! What God told Isaiah in Isa 6:9-10, is totally unexpected and even shocking to most of us and it could be paraphrased with this contemporary version of mine. God said, I want to tell you plainly, Isaiah, that when you go, first, your ministry will be a total failure. They will listen and listen but not understand. They will look and look but never see the point. Furthermore, your preaching is not going to make them better, it will make them worse. It will actually cause them to be hardened and deadened. The more you preach, the more hardened their hearts will be. But Isaiah, you preach it my son, because that is my calling for you. God is sending the message that the ultimate measure of the success of one s call is not by results. God is teaching us that the so called positive response of listeners, do not finally determine the authenticity of one s call. The true success and the authenticity of one s call is over the simple truth whether one has obeyed God s call, regardless of whether there would be results or whether the response would be favourable. If most of this generation do not heed my warning about the falsity of the Pre-trib doctrine, all is not lost because my real battle and focus is on the next generation of believers. But the battle for the hearts and minds of the next generation must start today in this generation. While it doesn t take too much of an effort and only a few seconds to turn a small boat around, it will take a huge chunk of time and a whole lot of sweat and energy to turn a big ship around. Thank God, even the gigantic ship of this generation is turning little by little and inch by inch. Thank God, that even for this generation more and more have heeded the warnings about the false Pre-trib doctrine that has given believers a false and dangerous hope that God will suck them away to heaven with a gigantic vacuum cleaner before trouble hits. Thank God that despite the extremely unpopular and tough message of the Rapture & Great Tribulation Seminar, 18 Singapore and Malaysian churches have opened their doors for the seminar to be conducted in This, itself is a miracle. Preached at SIBKL, Kuala Lumpur on Dec George & Ps Dr Chew Weng Chee It was a rare opportunity to be invited by Ps Dr Chew Weng Chee to speak at SIBKL at the three English worship services, totalling about 3,000 people on Dec. I first got to know Ps Dr Chew Weng Chee through Rev Edmund Chan and I am thankful to Rev Edmund for connecting me to Ps Chew. I thoroughly enjoyed preaching at the Church. The elders, pastors, leaders and members were very supportive and friendly, seeing to our every need. I am much encouraged, as after services, many church members approached me personally and shared how much they were ministered to by my preaching. One member passed me a note with the following written, Dear Bro George, Thank you for your ministry. You bring hope to the weary. You bring water to the thirsty. You are a true warrior in the Lord. I am especially appreciative of Ps Dr Chew, and those running the 3 worship services for deliberately and unselfishly cutting down on their portion of the programme in order to give me more time for the preaching. George has been such a blessing to us at SIBKL during his weekend sharing with us at all our three worship services. He has a wonderful testimony and he delivers it in style laced with singing and humour. Certainly, he has weathered through several crises in his life and God has seen him through each one of them triumphantly. He also has a godly family that backs him up all the way. That itself is a testimony of the goodness of God.

13 I thank Rev Frank Lin, Vicar of St Peter s Church (Anglican), Ipoh and Elder Felix Lim Kew Beng, Chairman of Air Itam Gospel Centre (Brethren), Penang, for their invitation to conduct the Cat & Dog Theology Seminar and also to preach at their worship services on 7-9 Dec and Dec respectively. Both Rev Frank Lin and Elder Felix were very approachable and easy to work with. They were also very encouraging towards my teaching sessions and my itinerant ministry. The presentation of the Cat & Dog Seminar was very good. It reminded me that whatever happens to me, whether good or bad, I must bring glory to God. I am personally impressed by George s teaching. I have learnt that I must not just focus on being blessed but more importantly, to be a blessing to others. I am confident that our members have learnt a lot and will surely, through their lives, give glory to God. I will definitely recommend this seminar to other churches in Penang and to those I am in contact with. George s Sunday message and the songs he weaved into his sermon was so refreshing. The speed of his preaching was superfast but it was crystal clear. It was a timely reminder that in spite of my trials, I must focus on Jesus and like a doggish Christian, whatever I have gone through, must bring glory to God. This was my second time attending this seminar. Even though I had attended the seminar for the second time, I was not bored at all. The more I listened, the more I got excited because I am confident that after listening to the talk, there will be many of us who will adjust our mind-set from Cat-Theology to Dog Theology. Thank you for conducting the Cat & Dog Theology Seminar at St Peter s Church, Ipoh. It is an excellent seminar and the sessions were great and very well presented. It was interesting, humorous and yet containing a serious message. It was a good reminder about our relationship with God the focus of our lives and the attitudes we have towards God. We should have more time for discussion so that those attending can have more time to think through some of the points raised at the seminar and the application to their lives. You spoke very fast at the first session and some members found it difficult to follow you. As you slowed down during subsequent sessions, they could follow you better. Perhaps, a longer time planned for the seminar will enable you to speak slower and members can follow you better. I would certainly recommend that many more people attend the Cat & Dog Theology Seminar. The seminar title may sound a bit strange, something out of the ordinary, but certainly something that we must hear in our self-centred and feel good society. The Sunday sermon was a touching presentation and especially the part where you shared about how God called and provided for you. Hearing what you spoke about your experiences and walk with God, my reaction was, God, how awesome You are! What a Mighty God we serve!
