88.8FM, Kitale, Kenya 101.0FM, Kapchorwa, Uganda Kenya IMANI MINISTRIES NEWSLETTER December January 2011 IMANI STAFF TAKES ONE DAY SEMINAR During these challenging and difficult times, Imani Radio hosted a one day seminar for its entire staff to equip and better train them to serve its audience effectively. The staffs were taken through the vision and mission of the ministry so as to help them catch the vision and run with it. Some of the seminar topics were communication skills, team building, conflicts and resolutions, strategic planning and customer care techniques. At the end of the seminar, all the staff members agreed that they had learnt a lot and were going to implement the imparted knowledge. It never could have come at a better time especially at the beginning of the year and with the expansion into Uganda, we definitely need better delivery of services from the team. Thank you for your prayers and support in many ways. We look forward to working very closely with you in effectively serving Christ through this ministry in Imani Ministry s staff being taken through the seminar to equip and train them in communication skills, customer care, team building e.t.c

LIVE TESTIMONIES Imani Radio got a rare opportunity to interview live eight listeners who called our studios and said that they had testimonies to share with our listeners. We invited them to our studios and here are their incredible testimonies of what God has done for them. Catherine Wepukhulu, For sure, I have no words to express my happiness and blessings through Imani Radio; because four years ago I was healed from cancer of the uterus. When I was expecting my second born, I started experiencing some abnormal bleeding which lasted for the nine months and after delivery, the bleeding worsened and the doctors advised me to go for an operation for the uterus to be removed but all the appointments failed. A year later, I conceived my third born and the bleeding became intense, I started feeling pain that I couldn t bear. One day in my suffering, I thought of taking my life away, I prepared poison ready for consumption but the LORD saved me through Imani Radio when a servant of God was ministering about those who have given up and God wanted to deliver them. The message was more personal when he mentioned about the one who was about to poison herself. I felt the Lord touching me and healing me because the pain increased and I felt like the baby was near, but instead a big substance came out and the pain was over. After this I felt normal and at peace, completely healed. Three months later I gave birth to a health baby, the uterus was in good condition and healed. To all who are suffering, please never give up but instead trust the Lord and He will do a new thing in your life. Surely God is a healer and please listen to Imani Radio 88.8 FM. Alexina Muhatia, The Lord is good and has done a lot to me through Imani Radio. I got married at a very tender age to a husband who had nothing. We went through hard times because we never had even the basic needs: Food, Clothing & shelter but I realized through Imani Radio that seek ye first the kingdom of God and all shall be given unto you. I took the initiative of welcoming God in my Life and I realized that God had started opening doors for me. Thou hardships continued for a while I continued to tune in to Imani Radio where I got encouraged through their Music, preaching and prayers to a point where God has raised me

to a level I can t comprehend because I now have a plot, built a house, my children are in school and my husband secured a job. Please never give up in life because our redeemer lives. Thanks to Imani Radio for being a blessing to us. LIVE TESTIMONIES CONT Faith Azegele, My marriage was in trouble because of a friend of mine who had befriended my husband and I had given up and wanted to commit suicide as a solution to my suffering when the Lord spoke to me through a servant of God (Pastor Ann) during the evening prayers on Imani Radio. As they were praying for broken marriages and weak foundations, I was encouraged and found a reason to live again but now not just living but building a strong foundation in Jesus who transformed my marriage and my husband. I thank God for restoring my marriage because I am now happy and my husband has also taken me to college something that he had refused completely. I thank God for Imani Radio and may the almighty God bless Imani Radio ministries here in Kenya and in Uganda. Moses Ndiema ( ) My life and family was in a mess before I gave my life to Jesus. One day I found my wife committing adultery so I send her away as I planned to kill the man who was involved. But one morning when I was listening to Imani Radio, God spoke to me about forgiveness & reconciliation which touched my heart and led me to give my life to God. This in turn transformed my life. I started experiencing new feelings and I found myself forgiving my wife s adulterous acts leading to our reconciliation and now, we are happily united. I bless the name of the Lord because of Imani Radio. Surely you have been a blessing to us. I urge everyone to listen to Imani Radio for God s blessings. Benjamin Bitok, I thank God for Imani station because through you, I have been lifted spiritually and I have also seen God s hand and in providing for me. I had been living in poverty for a long time because personally, I was brought up by well-wishers thus didn t have the opportunity to go to school ending up in transport business (boda boda) and the income I earn from this business is not enough to cater for my family s needs. The situation worsened when my children grew up and joined high school. Payment of school fees was and has been my biggest challenge but thank God for Imani Radio prayers which have played a major role. I have seen miracles happen in my life. Whenever I am unable to pay fees for my children, God did provide for them through anonymous persons. My children have come home with receipts for the fees paid thinking I was the one who sent money, But on asking the Head teacher, he confirmed that a well wisher paid for my children! This is because I trusted God after being taught through Imani Radio. God is faithful and He will never let you down. God bless Imani. Rebecca Chakaya, I, Rebecca have every reason to thank the Lord for all He has done in my life. First of all He healed me from INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU) when everybody had given up on me, even the doctors. Secondly, my husband was a drunkard and sometimes he would chase me out of the house because he called my prayers noise to him, but I continued rising up every morning during Imani Radio morning prayers and praying with God s servants until one day, I saw my husband go to church. I wept bitterly and thanked God for his salvation. Lastly, my nephew s feet swell and I was worried about his health but when I called Imani Radio for prayers, we prayed together and in the morning we saw God s healing hand. I praise the Lord for Imani Radio. It has been my source of inspiration through Music, preaching and the presentation in all programs. God is able, so let us depend on Him. Violet Hemali My husband was lost for a year and left me with children without any support which made us go through very hard situation. One day when I had given up and never saw any reason for living, I heard a message from God through Imani Radio where they were talking about lost husbands. I felt encouraged and learnt about prayer & fasting on Imani Radio. Afterwards, I took the initiative to

pray for my husband to return and for God to provide for us. A miracle happened this December when my husband came back home and gave us 5,000 shillings something that he had never done before. I tithed 500 and re-stocked my shop. Our marriage is now healthy and I thank Imani Radio for teaching me how to fast and pray. I have seen God lifting my business to a higher level. 6 Imani Radio Ministries God's blessing for Widows they waited patiently for the final prayer of blessings. One lady with tears on her eyes testified that the only gift she has received that will bless her and her generation is the bible. Pat and Risper are not widows, but God has called them to encourage, counsel and pray for widows in Africa through Widows For Jesus operating under Faith and Imani Radio Ministries. With money raised through Faith Radio, 25 widows today benefited with these blessings. What a wonderful day that the Lord had made. More than 120 people attended the colorful ceremony of blessing widows with sheep. Over 60 pastors who are currently enrolled for a two year Biblical foundational course and several widows were in attendance. In the sweltering heat of March ushering in the long awaited rains, the ladies and men sang songs of joy, thanks-giving and exhalting the most high God for this bountyful blessings. One widow after another smiling and ululating came forward to receive the blessing. Each took the sheep by the rope tied to the leg on one hand and a bible on the other as Thank you for all those that made this possible. You gave joy and hope to this women. We look forawrd to getting testimonies of how the Lord will bless and multiply these gifts to benefit many others. Deuteronomy 14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.

No. 1 imanifmradio@yahoo.com April 20, 2006 Page 1 As we look forward to celebrate our 1 st anniversary on 5 th May 2006, it is prudent to look back and reflect on the things the Lord has done in us and through us at Imani Radio. The journey has not always been smooth sailing, sometimes it has been bumpy and at other times we have encountered the forces of the enemy. I recall the earlier days when after getting the frequencies in record time, the enemy fought hard to deny us the land to built the tower at the mountain. The devil recently took captive our solar power radios at the customs for 2 months before they were finally released. These and many other incidences is what the enemy is using to stop us We however take comfort from the spiritual knowledge that the enemy is never happy with the things that glorify God. We return glory and honor to our living God for He is able and in whose power everything is possible! Scott & Brenda Biegle giving out solar powered radios that are pretuned to Imani s 88.8 to the community of Matumbei near West Pokot Only recently, during their visit to the country, our U.S partners led by Scott Beigle and John Cappelen brought a transmitter to enable us upgrade our 250w transmitter to a 2-kilo watt transmitter. It is with thanks and gratitude that we glorify and honor God for using these servants to reach more people in Africa with the gospel before his second coming. Philippians 4:4 says rejoice in the Lord always and I say rejoice. We are indeed rejoicing and lifting His name on high for the added transmission power to reach more listeners. With the upgrade, our current coverage Rev. Mairori, the Executive Director, ICM Kenya speaking at a radio Rally in Matumbei has increased to cover areas such us Busia, Mbale and Malaba towns inside of Uganda. In Kenya, our signal is now very strong where it was weak besides reaching the new towns of Malaba, Bungoma, Baringo, Kericho, Kisii to name a few. The map opposite gives an indication of the areas covered (marked in red). On a clear night, listeners might pick up Imani's signal as far away as Lokichogio, Eastleigh in Nairobi or Nyeri in Central Province. But the influence of the 2,000-watt Imani radio station, which is marking its 1st year at 88.8 on the FM radio dial, spreads far beyond its broadcast range. In terms of populations covered, from the initial 4 million people with 50,000 tuning in to our frequency at any moment, these has increased to 7.2 million people in the covered area with an approximate 80, ,000 people listening in to Imani broadcasts at any one moment! Imani FM is pleased to serve as the refueling station of spiritual nourishment for individuals, families and the wonderful listener-base. Our mission is found in Romans 10:17 "So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. As ICM, we exist to serve the church by equipping and training its leaders. The radio ministry enables us reach many leaders as we communicate the gospel through Christian music, preaching and teaching God s word. It is our desire to see changed lives and that Imani would be a vehicle used by God to spread the word that Jesus saves lives, and to help the community promote morals, standards, and Christian living. I was delivered from the powers of darkness. I had been demon possessed for along time. I was being taken to the grave yard every now and then through the powers of evil spirits but after being prayed for in IMANI RADIO, I was completely delivered and now I am free indeed. Praise God. Rispah of Makunga primary school. I thank God for having blessed us with this very important equipment in Kitale town, which is playing a very important role in our community at large. On 24th Feb 2006 I made a call during prayer session and I received instant healing of the disease that had disturbed me for long. Penina Simiyu Hi IMANI RADIO, I am blessed with your programmes. Eric & Tabitha Wanjala Eric & Tabitha Wanjala during the interview My Husband chased me away from our matrimonial home both in Nairobi and Ndalu. I asked to be prayed for in your Radio station and after 4 weeks, I received my miracle. My husband came back to me and asked for forgiveness. He has since transferred the land title and three Nissan taxi vehicles to my name. This miracle has strengthened my personal relationship with Christ. I will serve the Lord all my life!. Leah PRAYER REQUESTS A jovial Mrs. Leah Okubasu with her Children at our studios We trust God to provide all our needs. But for God to provide, we still have to ask. The word ask appears 65 times in the gospels. Now this is the confidence we have in Him: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 1John 5:14. Some of our ministry prayer needs are: 1. Equipments to be able to expand our broadcasts to reach many parts of Kenya, Uganda and the Southern Sudan. 2. We have applied for frequencies in Kisumu and Timboroa, pray with us that the government will give us the licenses in these areas. 3. Being a young station that is not for profit, we ask you to pray with us for the Lord to provide for staff salaries. Lord, grant us now the grace to wait, To trust alone in You, Lest we set goals outside Your will That we with zeal pursue. PRAISE HIS NAME! AMEN.

IMANI RADIO NEWS APRIL 2007 New Vehicle after the accident! We praise the Lord for the new Imani Auto-Mobile after I got an accident last year. The Lord has been so gracious and has given me a RAV 4 for use in the ministry. I wish to take this opportunity to thank Faith Radio listeners for their generous support that made all this possible. May the Lord bless you all. Below are photos of the new vehicle. Statistics of our listener s prayer requests Praise the Lord! As I was compiling the statistics of prayer requests for the last 3 months, I was astonished to note the following:i. That 2,821 listeners called our station between January and March this year with prayer needs ii. That an average of 31 prayer requests come through every day iii. That in a week, we receive over 235 prayer request calls and iv. Over 940 calls come through with prayer needs monthly Of these, a total of 256 have called back to give thanks and to testify that God answered their prayers. Some of the prayer requests have ranged from sicknesses, broken marriages, financial break-through to deliverance from the yolk of Satan. In this newsletter we sample two testimonies below. TESTIMONIES Two years ago, my life was hopeless; my children had dropped out of school due to school fees. I had never learnt to listen to God and have faith in Him till I accepted Him through prayers in Imani Radio. Since then the children who had dropped from school got sponsors and were able to complete school. This is because when the pastor asked any one with a need to believe, I believed. Jehovah opened doors for me and my children finished their studies and are now working. The elder one is called Walter Asegere and the younger one is called Joshua Khisa. This is two year ago. Praise Him! Beatrice Mung anya from Maper

I have come to testify what God has done for me and my family. I have heard people give testimonies of what God has done in their lives but had never thought it could be me or anyone close to me. I come from very poor backgrounds and have educated my daughter through the grace of God. When she finished her tailoring course, she needed a sewing machine to open a business, but I could not provide for her. My daughter kept encouraging me that God would open a way. This was strange, because I should actually have been the one encouraging her! Anyhow, one evening my daughter tuned the radio to Imani and they were taking live prayer requests. She called and requested for God to open a way to enable her get money to buy a sewing machine. As the preacher prayed, we stretched our hands and trusted for God to provide. The miracle is, my daughter went to town the next day and she met a distant relative who after inquiring about home and her studies, volunteered to buy her a sewing machine when he heard her plight. She is now happy and able to make ends meet through this generosity that God touched this man! Agnes Ogata from Bikeke in Kitale Prayer requests We are planning a road-show next month. Pray that the Lord may use this opportunity to draw more listeners to His messages and teachings through Imani Radio. And that many lives may come to Christ as they listen to inspiring music, teaching and messages of our risen Lord.

No. 5 imanifmradio@yahoo.com August 20, For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me Mat. 25:35 REACHING OUT FOR THE LOST INSIDE PRISON WALLS Kitale Main prison houses about 300 male prisoners and 50 women prisoners in separate wings. It is situated 3 km outside Kitale town. The majority of convicts are between ages 18-45, a very productive age! There is a small percentage of prison population who have been imprisoned without having committed an offense, yet because the law is what it is, they have languished in jail serving their terms. Our visitation to the prisons was not so much as to give those behind bars any material gifts but to take the good news of Jesus Christ, which is by far greater than any earthly materials. The mere fact of fellowshipping and encouraging those behind closed walls was a big joy. We know that there are so many outside prison, yet are yoked by the enemy in many issues like marital problems, sicknesses, finances, wrong choices in life etc. It gives one a fresh insight in realizing the amount of time we spent each day without going before God to thank Him of His providence in our lives. This was truly amazing and a big encouragement to me personally as we shared and mingled freely with the convicts. When I asked one prisoner if he had a personal relationship with Jesus, his answer was astonishing. This is what he said Jesus lives in here (inside prison walls), He makes visitations to those outside prison but eventually retires to be with us here, He further volunteered that without Jesus inside prison, life would be unbearable. Brethren, let s pray that this passion and knowledge of knowing that Jesus is the only way is sustained both in and out of prison. We distributed small solar powered radios that will broadcast music, preaching and teaching 24 hours every day. This is the first time here in Kenya that prisoners will be listening to the message 24 hours inside prison through the specially pre-tuned to Imani 88.8 station solar powered radios. We thank the lord so much for giving us this opportunity to minister to prisoners through our broadcasts.

No. 5 imanifmradio@yahoo.com August 20, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Php. 4:6-7. We have begun a monthly newsletter that you may receive through . We are now on the 5 th Volume. If you wish to be included in our mailing list to receive news on what the Lord is doing with and through Imani Radio in Africa, please let me know at imanifmradio@yahoo.com or pbutaki@yahoo.com. LISTENER FEEDBACK Receive Christian greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. I pray that this letter finds you growing stronger in the Lord. I particularly want to recognize in a special way the role you are playing in steering Imani radio programs. Indeed you have contributed collectively in blessing us through your daily broadcasts. Thank you for your selfless devotion and sense of responsibility, which has made it possible for the ministry of Imani to grow. I ask you to keep up the good work. Your image is a reflection of the quality we project as ministers of the gospel. I believe your contribution is evident and continues to be demonstrated. Pastor Patrick Langat, A.I.C. Tuigoin. Just wanted to let you know your prayers worked. The Lord has fully healed me. Juliet, Kapenguria I give glory to our most high God for the launch of Imani Radio (88.8FM) here in Kitale. Since its inception, Imani has proved to be a station of choice fashioned to cater for the spiritual nourishment of the residents of Kitale and its environs. Several months back, there used to be a programme called Zama Zetu by Pastor Simiyu. This programme was quite reach and mature in counseling the youth and the old alike in matters of modesty and worship. Where did this programme go and when will it be back on the airwaves? May God give Imani staff strength to continue with this incredible work. Long live Imani! Appolo Juma, Kibomet Thank you for your prayers. I have seen the hand of God. My troubled marriage is restored and I have a lot of peace in my marriage now, something I had not experienced for a very long time. Magdalena. I had called to be prayed for last month. Glory to God and thank you for your prayers. I have gotten a financial break-through. Wycliffe Amukabi Lidodo area. PRAYER REQUESTS 1. 15 -- Converted from Word to PDF for free by Fast PDF Imani Radio reaches out to Muslims in Uganda When God called us to do radio ministry in Uganda, it never occurred to us that we would be reaching a huge percentage of the Muslim community. Neither did we anticipate that they would be listening to the Christian programming. This is a testimony of a Muslim who is being blessed and encouraged by our Christian programs. Hakim from Ng ang ata in Uganda testified how his life had changed from listening to Imani Radio I am a Muslim, but I do listen to Imani Radio. The programs are encouraging, educative and very informative. The area that I come from is 95% Muslim but you ll find most of them listening to Imani radio. Since Imani Radio was opened, most people have decided its Imani Radio they want to listen to, even most Muslims love your station because it s programs are inspirational and life transforming. The Christian community has welcomed Radio Imani in Uganda with a passion, they have testified how many times they had prayed for God to bring a Christian radio in their community, a prayer God answered early this year when we officially dedicated and opened Radio Imani in Eastern Uganda. The testimony of one, Joan captures the reception with which Imani Radio has been received in Uganda. I have prayed to God for seven years so that the North Eastern region in Uganda could get a Christian Radio station and God has answered my prayers by bringing Imani Radio. It s a blessing. It has changed lives of many July - August 2010 for this short period. It is an extension of the church that continues to feed us spiritually every day of the week. I feel empowered spiritually, God bless the management of Imani Radio and God bless Imani Radio. Despite the difficult environment in which we are operating in Uganda, God has been faithful. I remember earlier on when we had just started to broadcast, we would go for three days without electricity and the cost of running a petrol generator is much higher than what it costs here in Kenya. With your prayers and that of many Saints all round the world that we contacted to intercede for us, God has answered those prayers and the power situation is now much better than the initial days. We also have installed a diesel generator, which is much lower in costs to maintain as diesel is cheaper than petrol. It is our joy to note that despite all the things that the enemy has tried in slowing down God s work in Uganda, the Holy Spirit has continued to speak to the hearts and minds of people through the broadcasts we air everyday.

-- Converted from Word to PDF for free by Fast PDF The testimonies that we have received encourage and strengthen us to continue pressing on as Paul aptly summed it up in Philippians 3:12 14 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. The political class too have noticed the change in their communities and appreciate and welcome Imani Radio as confessed in our live interview with Chekamondo Rukia Kulany, Minister of State for Finance, Planning and Economic Development in charge of privatization. I want to thank the management of Imani radio for the station that has become a blessing to many. It is educative, informative and inspirational. It has brought a positive change in the society. Imani radio is what we ve been longing for, in a long time. Thank you for those responsible for bringing Imani Radio. We have compiled testimonies from a few of the programs we broadcast here in Kenya and in Uganda. Also we have captured the testimonies of those who have made calls to our studios during prayer time to request for prayers. In these testimonies, it is a thanks giving to the Lord after answering their prayers. We give God the glory and honor in what He is doing in the lives of His people. My testimony is that, my wife had abandoned the children and me and I did request for the pastor to pray for me. My prayer was answered and she came back home. Secondly my son was delivered from demonic attacks that had disturbed him for years and that s through prayers from Imani Radio. GOD BLESS IMANI RADIO. Becky, Kapchorwa, You ll find me listening to Imani Radio 24/7. This is because Imani Radio is a blessing to my family and me. One day my two children were sick and admitted at the district hospital. I was stressed & devastated and I tuned to Imani radio and I requested for a song which really touched me and encouraged me and my worries were over through listening to the inspirational songs and programs. I also believed and trusted for my children s healing. The Lord answered my prayers and the next day my children were discharged. By the way I listen to Imani Radio 24 hours. I thank God for Imani Radio. May it live long! Paul, Pallisa I love listening to Imani Radio because its programs are very inspiring. I can t afford missing to listen to Imani Radio. The presenters are lively in their presentation, which really encourages one to listen. Programs such as Love Worth Finding and Heart to Heart are very special to me and that s why I can t afford to miss listening to Imani Radio. Moses, Kumi I am a fanatic fun of Imani Radio. It is in my bornemarrow. Imani Radio has given me a meaning to live. It s a blessing to many. When am down, my only comforter is Imani Radio. Since it is the only pure Christian Radio station around here which does not mix its programming with anything secular. TESTIMONIES FROM IMANI RADIO, KENYA No Name She was bed ridden from a disease that even doctors were unable to diagnose. She tried every means she could to regain her health but all was in vain. But one evening she was listening to the radio as the servants of God prayed for various needs. The person who was taking care of her sent a message asking for prayers and her case was presented before the Lord. That night she slept well and her recovery process begun. Now she is fully healed and we give God the glory. William, His family was going through evil spirits attacks and there was no peace. Every time he was quarrelling with his wife and their marriage was greatly affected. But the worst happened when their kids begun having nightmares at night. The family was so troubled and this led William to seek divine intervention through prayers in our station. He called and he was prayed for. He testifies that since that time his family has gone through healing and they are now peaceful with the peace of Christ. Indeed He is the prince of peace. Jennifer, Lukhuna Kitale. Jennifer is one happy mother after the Lord did a miracle for her two-year-old son Dedan. One Wednesday, Dedan was playing with

Reaching there, the other kids knew their way back home but Dedan got lost in the streets and ended up in Kitale police station. The officers picked him up and took him to a children s home situated in Milimani estate. Meanwhile the mother was moving up and down trying to locate him. In the evening she called IMANI and she was prayed for. Amazingly on Sunday the children s home decided to fellowship with a church where Jennifer is a member! So when the children entered church, Jennifer was amazed to find her son among the children. Some might say this was a coincidence but with no doubt it is the doing of the Lord. Indeed He works in ways we cannot understand. Emmaculate, Kitale When I listen to Imani, I recall when it started in By then I was in class 8 preparing for my KCPE. I loved the presentation and especially the prayer program. I finished class 8 and was not sure of my progress due to financial constrains. However, I always sent my request to be prayed for and miraculously our God has provided for me and I have now finished my fourth form and am waiting for university entry because I passed my exams well. Imani Radio is a companion that I will never forget. God bless! TESTIMONIES FROM PAUL BRYSON S PROGRAM Carol My spiritual life has undergone a lot of transformation since I begun listening to Pastor Paul Bryson program aired through Imani Radio. It is my prayer that the Lord will uplift the servant of God and Imani Radio. Pastor Banda Gikweyo Through the program, Pastor Bryson has made me to understand that as a servant of God, the Central focus of the gospel and salvation is Jesus Christ and nothing else. Ndung u Kireri As a young person, I knew that true peace and satisfaction comes through fulfilling the desires in somebody s life like riches, academic success and other worldly aspiration. But I now thank God because I have realized through Pastor Bryson that, all is about Christ and not what we have. Patrick Wanyonyi I am a big follower of the Wells of Salvation program. I can testify that since I begun following the teachings my spiritual life has greatly changed for the better especially when serving my God in my local church, God bless Pastor Bryson Anonymous The program has encouraged me to shun evil and pursue righteousness so as to live a Christ like life. Milly, Kakamega One day I was discouraged with issues that were going on in my life. I was so low and nothing seemed to cheer me up. 20 FROM THE JAWS OF DEATH! A story of how Ptallah Butaki of Imani Radio in Africa escaped death by a whisker I am amazed at the gap between living and dying! Only this past month on the 22 nd December 2006, I got my miracle, not a healing miracle nor one of providence, but one that all of us hold dearly LIFE! The enemy caused me to have an accident that has taught me a big lesson in my spiritual life. That no matter how healthy and strong one is, YOU JUST NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU WILL BE CALLED HOME! In REVELATION 3; 3, God s promise is very clear: it says Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast and repent. If therefore you will not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. I usually do not fasten my seat belt whenever I am driving as is the case with many others. But this particular day was exceptional. I had driven to Mt. Elgon for ministry and as I came back from this trip, a voice asked me to fasten my safety belt. The urge to do this was so great that I was forced out of my own will to pull beside the road to fasten up. Hardly 30 minutes after fastening up, a serious accident occurred that it just took the hand of the Lord for me to live and testify His mercies and love! PSALMS 33:18-19, reveals God s promise to us. Listen to what the Lord says Behold the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear Him, upon them that hope in His mercy; to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive. It had just rained and as I approached a bridge near Kitale, I met an on-coming vehicle on top of the bridge and on my side of the bridge; there was a pool of rain water which I could not avoid due to the other vehicle. I landed into this pool of water and as I got out of it the vehicle started swaying from side to side. Unfortunately, after a few meters there was this on coming Lorry in full speed coming down the steep. To avoid a head on collision, I had to veer off the road where my vehicle collided with a culvert and toppled over. If I had not fastened up, the impact would have thrown me through the windscreen and the car toppling over me. As I was hanging there for dear life and bleeding, a voice spoke to me again and said un-buckle your seat belt and come out, I am with you. At first, I thought rescuers had arrived at the scene and were urging me to come out! Interestingly, in that confusion and semi consciousness, a force led me to un-buckle and crawl out. But then, this is no surprise to God s children for He says in PSALMS 34; 7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them. The first person to come to the scene of the accident was like 10 meters away when I finally came out. This did not register in my confused mind, but later when I pieced the pieces together, I realized that God had spoken to me twice that day and He had been with me all through-out my journey. I do not know the purposes in which the Lord spared my life, I am still praying for Him to reveal to me that, and what He wants me to fulfill, yet for this, I know that I will serve Him for the rest of my life and in whatever He calls me to do! LUKE 1; gives me strength in serving; That He would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life. What a joy to be a part of God s instrument in reaching out with the good news to millions and millions of people in Africa. Particularly in this century that has brought the end times so close. I am indeed excited to look back and see how far the Lord has brought us, it has never been easy, there are times when the enemy has discouraged us, but knowing whom we serve; God has helped us to remain true to our calling. For we are assured in JOHN 4; 4 that Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

A REFLECTION OF 2006 TRANSMITTER UPGRADING As we look forward to a prosperous and successful 2007, it is good for us to look back and reflect on the things the Lord has done in us and through us at imani Radio. We can testify that the journey has not been smooth always. But we are grateful to the Lord for He has always shown His mercy and grace to us. He has fought for us and for sure He is our Ebenezer. The year 2006 was a great year. God enabled us to enlarge our coverage area to reach over 7.2 million people from the initial 4 million. This means that approximately 200,000 people tune in to our broadcasts at any one given time! Glory to God. This was made possible by the visit of our U.S partners led by Scott Beigle and John Cappelen in March last year. They brought along a transmitter that enabled us upgrade our 250watts transmitter in Kapenguria to a 2-kilo watt transmitter. With the upgrade, our current coverage increased to cover areas such as Busia, Mbale and Malaba towns inside Uganda. In Kenya, our signals are now very strong where it was weak besides reaching new areas such us Malaba, Bungoma, Baringo, Kericho and Kisii to name but a few. It is with thanks and gratitude that we glorify and honor God for using these servants to reach more people in Africa with the gospel before His second coming. This Radio has become a refueling station for spiritual nourishment for many people. PRISONS MINISTRY As a bible believing Christian organization, we don t take the great commission lightly. Mathew 28; 19, commands us to Go therefore and make disciples of all nations. This still remains our focus in reaching out. Last year we were able, through God s help to reach out to the prisoners and the sick around our coverage area. The prisoners in Kapenguria and Kitale received solar powered radios which have enabled them to tune to 88.8 FM for 24 hours without the burden of buying batteries!! During the visit to the prisons led by Ptallah Butaki, many inmates gave their lives to Jesus and we give God all the glory and honor. THE SICK IN HOSPITALS ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!! In 1 Cor. 9:19-23, the Apostle Paul says Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became a Jew, to win Jews. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all these for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessing. Last year God helped us reach three hospitals around Kitale namely; Kitale District hospital, Cherangani Nursing Home and Mount Elgon Hospital. In all the hospitals, solar powered radios were donated to all the wards so that patients are able to listen to our transmissions at any given time of the day and night. About two weeks after delivering the radios to one of the hospitals, a lady called our studios with a prayer request for the healing of her son. Her son had been hospitalized diagnosed with malaria and was unable to speak, nor walk. The next day exactly 18 hours later, she called to give thanks to God for her sons miraculous healing. He had woken up the next day strong, talking and able to walk on his own!! Praise be to God.

REACHING OUT TO THE CATTLE RUSTLING AREAS During the month of July 2006, we were able to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to West Pokot District. This is one of the areas where cattle rustling is rampant. The long journey, begun on the afternoon of 14 th July from our studios. The ride from Kitale to Makutano was comfortable. But things changed after 40 km inside West Pokot. The weather changed and we traversed through the semi arid Pokot land with no tarmac roads. It took us 3 hours to reach Amudat, a town situated 80 Kilometers beyond the Kenyan-Ugandan border. That night we slept in an Anglican guest house and in the morning we woke up prepared to minister in two churches situated 30 kilometers apart. In both churches, Amudat church of God in Uganda and Kiwawa Baptist church along the border, Imani Radio s Ptallah Butaki shared the love of Christ and distributed the solar powered radios and mosquito nets to the Pokot women with babies. LISTENERS FEEDBACK Irine Nasaba Wafula had a fatal accident. She fell from a tree while gathering firewood. She broke both legs with four fractures and was rushed to Kitale District Hospital. She was unconscious and never knew what was happening until the next day. As the doctors examined her, it was discovered that Irine was two months pregnant. This worsened her situation because she was going to take more time to recover than it was expected. After three months, the doctor said, if her condition improved, she would be allowed to go home with crutches. Unfortunately her condition did not improve and her delivery time was approaching. The doctors said she had to go for an operation because they were afraid that in her condition she would not deliver safely. 60, 000 Kenya shillings was needed to purchase the blades that were needed to insert into her legs or alternatively, Irine s legs would be amputated. Irine and her family are poor and could not afford to pay this amount. She continued staying in the hospital and by the mercies of God she delivered safely. One month after delivering, she heard preachings from a solar powered radio pre-tuned to Imani Radio that we had donated to the hospital a few months back. The preacher asked all those with needs to send their requests via Short Messaging Text Service (sms). Irine asked a friend to assist her send the SMS since she did not have a phone. The pastor prayed for her and she felt some warmth in her body. The next day she was called for an X-ray scanning and amazingly, the results showed that the fractured bones had healed. Irene was taken back to her bed and the following day a physiotherapist saw the X-ray pictures and was amazed. She said in her long career she had never witnessed something of that sort. Irine thanked God for healing her. The traction kits were untied and she was allowed to go home with crutches and a wheel chair. She was required to report to the hospital on weekly basis. But as soon as she reached home, her legs became strong and she was able to walk all by herself. She returned the wheel chair and the crutches to the hospital and she is well. In fact she came by herself to our studios at Imani Radio to give us this testimony. She had been hospitalized for 1 year and 2 months. Glory be to God.

Linet Nasimiyu from Matunda Deliverance Church had been suffering from stomach ulcers for a long time. One day as she was sleeping on her bed in her room, she heard preachings from Imani Radio. The sermon encouraged her and at the end, the pastor prayed with all those who were not feeling well. She received her instant healing and we give all the glory and honor to God. Pastor Robert Wanyonyi is a resident of Saboti in Trans-Nzoia District. He had been living in a one roomed rental house with 11 members of his family for a very long time. But from a series of teachings on the blessings of God that he received through Imani Radio, Robert says he called Imani Radio with a prayer need to be able to buy land and built his own house. The Lord answered his prayer and he has now bought a plot, built a house and is living with his family in their own premises. God is able! Amen. Ruth Nyaranga was asthmatic since she was born and now she is a grown up. One Sunday, Ruth was in her sick bed unable to breathe well. For her, this was normal. She had been attacked by asthma many times forcing her to bed. This day was never to be the usual days, for God had a different plan in her life. As she lay down in her bed, she was listening to preachings through Imani Radio. Faith was built in her and she believed for God to heal and deliver her from this misery. As the Pastor was about to pray, he requested those who were not feeling well to place their hands on the radio as a point of contact. She struggled and stretched her hand to her radio, and as the servant of God prayed, sister Nyaranga received her healing and since then she is healthy. Praise be to Jesus. Thank you so much for your support and prayers for Imani Radio Ministry in Africa. The Lord is using this ministry for His kingdom. May God bless you! 24 No. 4 imanifmradio@yahoo.com July 20, Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him Col. 3:16-17 Taking the love of Christ yonder TAKING THE GOSPEL TO CATTLE RUSTLING REGION OF WEST POKOT & UGANDA Our journey began on the afternoon of 14 th July 2006 in a heavy dark cloud that threatened with rain. At some point I was not sure we would be able to reach our destination. But the spirit reassured me that it was cloudy within and that there was no rain yonder. The Imani radio team comprised of Butaki, Sammy (presenter), ICM students Jackson and Cleophas who hail from West Pokot. After covering 40km inside of the West Pokot, the weather changed and we traversed through the semi arid land of the Pokot. We took more than 3 hours to arrive at Amudat, a town 80 KM bordering West Pokot. We slept that night at an Anglican guesthouse and woke up in the morning prepared to minister in two churches with 30 km radius apart and then depart to Kitale in the evening! All the traveling is through a semi arid land with no conventional roads but through dry riverbeds, shrub land and rocky terrains. The interesting and encouraging news we got was to hear that Imani was blessing and changing lives through its teaching, sermons and music aired 24 hours a day! From the border, Ugandan residents told us that our frequency reached many people within a radius of 130km from the border point inside Uganda!!. That totals to 250km from our transmitter and 290km from the studio!!! After ministering in the Church of God, Uganda, an Anglican church where the faithful had assembled, we shared on the mission of Imani, its broadcasts and the love of Jesus Christ. We were amazed that many people were listeners of Imani and many had testimonies on how the Lord had affected their lives through Imani radio. (Read testimonies ). We distributed the solar powered radios & mosquito nets (given to women with little children). It was time to move to the next mission on the other side of the Kenyan border! In our next Church Kiwawa Baptist about 30km from Church of God, Uganda on the Kenyan side, we were received with joy and ululations. Through Imani radio, the Lord has done wonders in this nomadic tribe of the Pokots. Through their evangelists and pastors, we learned that the popular radio in this region is Imani. We were inundated with requests of transmitting more hours in Kiswahili and also introduce vernacular. This is the only Christian radio frequency received loud and clear in this area and it has truly become a tool that has enriched spiritual lives, brought people to Christ and through prayers, healing miracles has been experienced. Continue praying with us that many more may come to know Christ through Imani radio.

No. 4 imanifmradio@yahoo.com July 20, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT I wish to thank all of you for your prayers during the last one year. LISTENER FEEDBACK I am a primary school teacher. I moved to Amudat in March last year and when I arrived there was no Christian station here. I prayed to the Lord for a Christian station. In May the same year, Imani Radio hit the airwaves of this area and I was thankful to the Lord for hearing and answering my prayer. My home area is Lira in Northern Uganda. My favorites programmes that have blessed me mightily are; Love Worth Finding, by Adrian Rogers at 7.30 and Heart to Heart by Brenda Beigle that goes on air every day at 9.30pm. I thank God for His provision that has blessed and weaned me spiritually. Erick Ebeta, Amudat Uganda. My life has been blessed and transformed through songs, sermons and teachings broadcast through Imani Radio. Imani is the radio of my choice. I tune in all day long. My prayer is that the Lord will expand its network to reach many people in the African continent. Pastor Raphael Lawal, Kiwawa West Pokot. I wish to thank the team from Imani radio for rising up to the call of Go ye and make disciples of all nations Mathew 28:19. I am a keen listener of Imani radio since it began in May I am also thankful of the solar powered radio, which will come in handy because we will not be buying batteries. May God bless you. Daniel, Amudat - Uganda I am really encouraged by your concern, counseling and prayers. I have been pained since I dropped out of school for lack of support from my stepfather. My aunt helped pay my fees till end of first term this year in my third form when she was retrenched. I thought life had no meaning and did not wish to live anymore. But after hearing your youth program that was discussing about stepmothers and fathers, I decided to come to the studios for more encouragement. Now I feel loved and know that God loves me regardless of my present situation. Thank you for everything, May God continue using this station to touch more broken hearted lives. Anthony Shiga, Bondeni Kitale. Note: Anthony walked to our studios on the 17 th after listening in to our youth program. He met Butaki and Cantona (presenter) and poured his heart out on tribulations that he was going through. We counseled, encouraged and prayed with him. In the end he was at peace and joyful to know that he was loved and God loved him even more. Pray for Anthony. PRAYER REQUESTS 1. Pray for the staff of Imani for the Lord to give them wisdom, peace & strength as they serve. 2. Pray for Butaki as he nurtures the radio media to reach many souls in Africa and as he oversees it s expansion
