Scripturally Based Matthew 28: 18-20: Great Commission: Make Disciples by Going, Teaching, and Baptizing (we leave this last one to the formal church), and remember that God is with us ALWAYS 2 Timothy 2:2: We teach others who can teach others Ephesians 6:12: Our battle is a spiritual one and we must employ spiritual weapons Joshua 1:1-9: Joshua s commissioning before conquering the Promised Land: Know that God is with us and the enemy cannot stand against us (v.5, 9) Be strong and courageous - this has a cost and it won t be easy (v. 6, 9) Be holy obey the Law of God (v. 7) Let God s Word be central it will do the work of the heart (v. 8)

Denomination Specific We have a wide representation of different denominations. God s Word is the focus of the ministry. Allows us to major on the majors. Something that interferes with work We instruct our participants to make up any work time missed due to an EC gathering An officially recognized group within TR Concern over how Corporate oversight might influence our approach.
9 7 Encouraging Concepts Meeting Structure Open in prayer 5-10 minute opening current issue, testimony minute Bible study read designated passage and discuss. Many variations of the same questions: What does this say to you? How can you apply this to your life? Who can you tell? Work through a book of the Bible vs. topical (His message, not ours) Topical discussions mixed in if grounded in God s Word minute prayer time - Prayer, praise or pass (everyone talks) Distribute prayer request via to entire group Be flexible and open to the Holy Spirit s leading
