2 To know God and to make Him known A word from the base director, We have recently received a request for an application to one of our courses at Youth with a Mission (YWAM) from the person named in this reference form. It is our policy to correspond directly with you as a chosen reference by the applicant. We d like to acquaint you personally with our work and to seek your counsel concerning the participation of this person in our training program. We request that you fill out the enclosed reference form to assist us in the application process. Heidebeek is one of over 1000 centers that the international and interdenominational missions movement Youth With A Mission (YWAM) has in around 150 countries. Heidebeek exists to mobilize and train especially young people for the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19). With the students of the schools, the participants in many and varied activities, and the 100 staff here, there is a buzz of activity and life. Youth With A Mission Heidebeek is a missions community that mobilizes, equips and makes God known to all the world. The spectrum of the work is quite broad. There are schools and courses for three months or longer, schools like the Discipleship Training School (DTS), the School of Worship (SOW), the School of Evangelism (SOE) and the School of Biblical Studies (SBS). There are also many short-term courses, missions trips, evangelistic outreaches and youth weekends organized. Apart from that, Heidebeek coordinates missions projects in the world, and gives oversight and leading to missionaries that are working in foreign countries. Heidebeek was bought by YWAM in 1973, and has served right from the beginning as a center for discipleship and missions. In the beginning it was connected with the evangelism work of YWAM Amsterdam. Since 1977 DTS s have been held at Heidebeek. Since then more than 2000 people have been trained in this school. Students come from all over the world and go again into the entire world. Some go to work amongst unreached people in what sometimes can be difficult situations. Next to Heidebeek, YWAM has a number of centers in Holland: in Arnhem, Amsterdam, Assen, Ede, Hoornaar and Veenkolonien. As a base we have a specific focus on Indonesia. However we also reach out to other regions, countries and people groups. Heidebeek is situated between two villages, Epe and Heerde, in a beautiful part of the forest region. From the various Heidebeek properties, you can walk straight into the forest or heather fields. An ideal place to be able to seek God in peace and make important life decisions.
