To increase your chances of securing the position you want, please complete and return this application as soon as possible. We review completed applications in the order of their receipt. Information concerning the camp schedule, program, positions and salary is can be found at the website. At your leisure, feel free to visit us. In addition to the application, you will need to make sure that you have your one (1) reference (Corps Officer, Pastor, Youth Pastor or Bible Study Leader) send their form into our office. Upon receipt of your application and reference forms, our staff will determine if an interview is to be scheduled. If so, then we will call and set up a time for a phone, Skype or in person interview. This will take approximately 30 minutes. 5 H. IMPORTANT QUESTIONNAIRE Star Lake Camp is a Christian camp whose primary purpose is to share the message of Christ s love to the campers we serve. Campers participate in daily devotions, Lord s Day worship services, prayer before meals etc. Staff members participate in leading campers in these activities. Your application to Star Lake is interpreted as an indication that you subscribe to a high moral, ethical and Christian approach to life. To give us a clearer picture of your lifestyle, on a separate sheet of paper please prepare TYPED answers to the following questions using ARIAL font in 12-point size. Purpose of Salvation Army Camping is to serve the needs of campers; physical, social and spiritual. For the physical needs, our aim is to help the camper develop good health habits in cleanliness, proper rest, balanced diet, exercise and care of the body. To meet social needs the camp provides an opportunity for each camper to contribute to and receive from a group living experience. The aim is to help campers make their own right decisions, stimulate creativity and foster independence. The fact that The Salvation Army is a religious organization makes it possible its camping program to integrate concern for the spiritual dimension of life. We believe in God, His Word and what it teaches, and a pattern of living exemplified by Jesus Christ. These purposes are achieved through carefully selected staff, well-planned programs and the highest standards of health and safety. Goals of Salvation Army Camping 1. To promote awareness of God, His love, and through the love of Jesus Christ, to aid toward spiritual growth and knowledge of basic human values. 2. To give children, youth and adults a fun-filled, healthful, safe, educational and inspirational experience in the out-of-doors. 3. To help develop an understanding, appreciation, and a sense of stewardship for the out-of-doors, for the natural environment, and for all living creatures. 4. To help individuals grow in understanding themselves and each other, and especially for children to experience relationships with staff as caring adults and to offer opportunity for people of varied cultures to develop compassion for each other. 5. We believe that the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and that they only constitute the Divine rule of Christian faith and practice. 2.
