Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Vines----"FREEDOM"...not to bring us into another form of bondage, to be liberated, freed from bondage, not enslaved. Websters-----not caught up in, or entangled, without hindrance or restraint or confinement. The enslaved need someone to set them free...examples 1-Judges can set prisoners free... 2-Abraham Lincoln set the slaves of the South free... 3-Hostages can be set free by the military or a governmental response Ephesians 6:12 NASB - For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. So we see that our battle is against the WORLD, the FLESH and the DEVIL. "You, little children are from GOD, and have overcome them because greater is He that is in you than he who is in the world" I John 4:4 I John 5:19--"We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the evil one."

2 2 Cor 4:4--"in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn upon them." The WORLD tell us --we need to make more money --have more power --get a higher position --get a better education --buy a bigger house --drive a bigger faster car --wear fancy clothes --live at the right address --send our kids to the right schools and on and on...i know you have heard it all as I have. Rom 12:2 NASB - 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. and what of our FLESH... I John 2:16--"for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but of this world". Galations 5:24--"and they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." Romans 6:6 --I deserve it --I am worth it --it is all about me --I am my own mini-"queen" --I want it --I am tired of coming in second --you deserve a break today --I feel like doing this --it is just for me can you add more...of course, you can. and then we come to the DEVIL himself...

5 2--he was cast out of heaven for disobedience 3--he is not parallel with GOD, he is a created being (by God himself) and therefore is subject to the will of God. It is not God and satan on a parallel plane...satan is under God's authority --when we are in Christ, satan and his demons are also subject to us. When we resist and tell him to flee...he must obey --he is a defeated foe...col 2:15 And what is our response to satan according to the WORD... James 4:7 NASB - 7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. our ARMOR, the armor of GOD --belt of truth...john 14:6, John 17:17 --breastplate of righteousness...i Cor 1:30, Phil 3:8,9 --feet of readiness with the gospel of peace...romans 14:19, 16:20, Eph 4:3 --shield of faith...romans 10:17 --helmet of salvation...romans 8:35, 8:16 --sword of the spirit, the Word of GOD...Eph 6:17, Romans 10:17, 10:10 --prayer...romans 6:18 II Cor 4:17, 18--"for our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of the glory to come. While we look not at the things which are seen, but for the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.".acts 20:24--"I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace." II Tim 4:7--"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." I Cor 9:24--"Do you not know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize."

6 ONE OF THE BEST WAYS WE CAN RUN THIS RACE AND FINISH WELL AND NOT ALLOW OUR PAST TO DICTATE TO US, BUT FOCUS ON THE FUTURE AS A SERVANT OF THE LORD AND ONE WHO DESIRES THE REWARDS OF ETERNITY WITH JESUS...IS TO KNOW "WHO" AND "WHOSE" WE ARE... THE FOLLOWING PAGES ARE A GREAT REMINDER OF THIS... WHO WE ARE AND WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE FREEDOM IN CHRIST. YOU ARE A CHILD OF THE KING...BEHALF LIKE THAT CHILD. Philippians 3:12-14 NASB Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13- Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14- I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
