For this cause have I raised thee up, for to show in thee my power; that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. (Exodus 9:16) We are seeing the great miracle of Christian TV moving into the last great population areas of this world.... Together, we see our purpose and destiny from the Lord. Paul Crouch: September 2000 Taking the Gospel to the nations of Asia has been a part of TBN s vision since the early days of the ministry. We first started planting seeds there in 1977 just four years after TBN was started when we began working with evangelist Mel Tari to produce an Indonesian language version of Praise the Lord that was broadcast in Jakarta for several years. Shortly after, TBN partnered with the late Chinese evangelist, Nora Lam, to produce Mandarin language Praise that was aired in Hong Kong and Taiwan. In the year 2000 and again in 2003, Dr. Crouch traveled to China and laid the groundwork that helped bring TBN into certain areas of the country. Today, the Gospel is being broadcast into Mainland China by satellite, the Internet, and mobile devices. The April 19, 2014, edition of the London Telegraph reports that The number of Christians in Communist China is growing so steadily that by 2030 it could have more church goers than America. In 2007, TBN s outreach to Asia greatly increased when we expanded our reach to all of Asia through our satellite uplink station in Manila, Philippines. Now serving as the broadcast hub for all of TBN s Asian operations, the Manila facility uplinks to three satellites with TBN, the Church Channel, the Smile of a Child children s network, and the JUCE TV youth network blanketing the entire Asian continent 24/7 with the Good News of Jesus. TBN s outreaches to Sri Lanka and India have resulted in thousands of satellite dishes donated and distributed to churches, Christian leaders, schools, villages, and orphanages. But there s even more to come as exciting new doors continue to open for the TBN Family of Networks to reach the nations of Asia.
