1 2017 WMF Projects The four projects of the WMF are: Christian Education (Parish Ed, AFLTS and AFLBS) The recommended months that each project is supported and the amount proposed for the year is listed. Let us also remember to uphold these various projects and missions in our prayers regularly. Please mail contributions to the National WMF Treasurer, Deb Benson make checks payable to the WMF of AFLC. Christian Education August and November $24, This project includes Parish Ed, AFLTS and AFLBS. PARISH ED The funds received will go towards the publication of former AFLTS Dean Dr. Francis Monseth s Writings. AFLTS Supporting each full time seminarian with $100 each semester for books, a Lutheran Ambassador subscription and continuing education for faculty. Pray for the seminarians, their wives and families and for the instructors. AFLBS Funds will be directed towards the women s dorm room refurbishing. Each room will cost between $2400 to $3600 depending on the size of the room (not including floor or curtains). Pray for all the AFLBS students and for the instructors. February and July $22, The support will go to to put towards the area of work that is in need at the Boards discretion. Keep in prayer the Congregations, pastors, wives and families, Parish Builders and the Alaska mission with it pastors, wives and families and the Board. March, May, October and December $45, The support will go to Board to be distributed as necessary to the AFLC missionaries. Keep our missionaries in prayer Pastor Jonathan and Tamba Abel, Pastor Paul and Becky Abel, Jonni Sliver and Matthew and Ednay Abel serving in Brazil, Pastor Todd and Barb Schierkolk serving in Mexico, Pastor Nathan and Rhoda Jore and Micah and Famke Berger in Uganda, Justo and Patricia Pillman in Ecuador and Brent and Emily Raan in India. Pray also for the Board.

2 We will also continue to support the Mission Scholarship program. This scholarship program is available to seminarians who are approved as missionary candidates for, Short Term Assistants, and Missionary and Seminary wives who desire to continue their spiritual education. We will also be receiving funds for the STA Fund (Short term assistant) to help those approved by the Missions Board to help serve our missionaries on the field. January, April and September $65, Pray for God s guidance for the National Board in all areas of ministry to the AFLC women. At the AFLC s beginning, women banded together to form the Women s Missionary Federation. Through your gifts to the General Fund, this work continues. These gifts help to fund the necessary expenses to keep the WMF functioning. The National Board prepares, prints and distributes the Bible studies, newsletters (Helping Hand), WMF web site ( e-news blog, pastor s wives blog (Heartline), Fall Resource Manual updates, and Welcome Packets to new congregations. Your support for the administrative costs will cover the salary for the Executive Secretary and stipends for the President and Treasurer. Other necessities such as convention expenses, travel, teleconference calls, office equipment and supplies, communications between District and National officers are also included. The WOC Fund covers the salary and travels of the Women s Outreach Coordinator. (Presently that role is being filled by various board members and their expenses are paid from this fund.) CONFERENCE OFFERINGS June Offerings from Conference will go as designated to the different projects of the WMF. Our theme this year is: Zone 1
