3 FAQFrequently Asked Questions Q1: How long is the membership year? H2H membership follows the academic year, starting on September 1 and epiring on August 31 of the following year. Please carefully read the Head to the Heart Membership Terms and Conditions for more information about membership renewal and cancellation. Q2: Why do you ask for verification of our average weekly worship attendance (AWWA)? H2H membership fees are based on a church s average weekly worship attendance (AWWA). Smaller churches pay less and larger churches pay more because typically, smaller churches have fewer students than larger churches. Verification of AWWA ensures the most accurate number, as most recently submitted to your church s denominational headquarters. Inaccurate AWWA numbers result in some churches paying more than they should and some churches paying less. By asking for verification, there is built-in fairness and accountability for you and for us. Q3: How many lessons/themes do I need to cover in a year? Most churches use H2H from the fall through the spring. Allowing for holidays, school vacations, and varying church calendars, this usually means themes per academic year. Of course, you gain access to all 90+ H2H lessons, so if you need more than 20 themes per year, there are plenty from which to choose. And with access to all 90+ H2H lessons, you can use them for retreats, lock-ins, senior high ministry, and even adult education and Cross+Generational opportunities! Q4: What are the Head to the Heart journals? Head to the Heart journals are designed to upgrade the Confirmation eperience at church by providing pre-printed, enhanced lesson pages for each youth. Each journal contains ten lessons that parallel Head to the Heart s themes. The H2H journals are a significantly more interactive, full-color alternative to the Youth Handout from each H2H lesson. Each journal becomes both a record of the subjects covered and a journal-style keepsake reminder of the youth s highs, lows, and prayers during their Confirmation years. The journals also provide families with talking points to promote nightly home faith talk. H2H journals are an effective way to bring confirmation home by providing a non-threatening, easy-to-follow format (the FAITH5) that helps even the most apprehensive parents become leaders of regular faith talk. Q5: If we use the H2H journals, do I still need to print out the Youth Handout? No. That s the beauty of the journals. Not only are they an enhancement to your Confirmation program, they are a time-saver as well. The H2H journals eliminate the need to print and distribute handouts and build students packets. With the journals, it s all done for you! Q6: What do mean when you say Head to the Heart is a system, not just a curriculum? Head to the Heart is about more than traditional confirmation instruction it is a complete ministry system that incorporates service, fellowship, journaling, peer relationships, adult Guides and home faith talk into the mi. Q7: The system looks pretty involved. Do I need a lot of training? If you love God, like kids and are willing to do some reading and networking, you ll do great! The Head to the Heart Member Manual and support files contain all the information you will need to be successful. And the H2H Guide Training Manual has a wealth of information and tips so you can train your own volunteers! As a valued member, your congregation is granted an Annual License to use Head to the Heart resources and materials for your congregation s own use as covered by the terms of this agreement. Please retain a copy of this agreement for your records. HEAD TO THE HEART ANNUAL LICENSE Faith Inkubators (the Publisher) grants to the member (the License Holder) the non-eclusive right to use the resources and materials described below (the Licensed Resources) solely as part of the life and work of the License Holder throughout the term of this license and subject to the conditions described below. USES AUTHORIZED BY THIS LICENSE Use or Using means to access, install, download, read, copy, print or otherwise benefit from using the Licensed Resources. License Holder acknowledges that use of the Licensed Resources requires the use of other hardware and software products and that such hardware and software is the sole responsibility of the License Holder. License renewal fees are billed at the annual rate in effect at the time of the renewal, and are subject to change without notice. HEAD TO THE HEART DOWNLOADABLE PRODUCTS Selected Head to the Heart resources are available as digital files to download (the Downloadable Product). The following terms and conditions apply to Head to the Heart downloadable products. By using Head to the Heart downloadable products, the License Holder agrees to follow and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Credit card will be charged at the time of purchase, not at the time of download. Downloadable file is available through the Membership tab immediately after purchase. The file will remain available until midnight on August 31 at which time it will be deleted. This Annual License allows the License Holder to download and archive an electronic copy of the Downloadable Product file and to print the contents. The Downloadable Product is provided by Faith Inkubators on an as is basis. Faith Inkubators makes no representations or warranties of any kind, epress or implied, as to the operation of the Downloadable Product, or the information, content, materials or products included in the Downloadable Product. Notify Faith Inkubators by fa ( ) or (info@faithink.com) of intent to cancel, and request from Faith Inkubators a Membership Cancellation Agreement. 2. Complete and sign the Membership Cancellation Agreement, make a copy for your records, and return the original to Faith Inkubators by mail (PO Bo 2307, Stillwater, MN 55082) or fa ( ). TERMINATION OF ANNUAL LICENSE BY FAITH INKUBATORS Faith Inkubators may terminate the license at its sole discretion if the License Holder: Does not use the specified copyright acknowledgement credit lines. Assigns or shares the license or Licensed Resources to any individual or organization without permission. Makes and/or distributes unauthorized copies of the Licensed Resources. Does not otherwise comply with the terms of the license. DISPOSAL OF RESOURCES AND MATERIALS UPON LICENSE EXPIRATION If the License Holder chooses at any time to not renew the Annual License or if license is otherwise terminated, upon epiration or termination of the license all printed and electronic copies or originals of the Licensed Resources and Materials must be deleted and disposed. The only eceptions are: Music CDs and video DVDs that have been produced, manufactured and/or distributed by Faith Inkubators may be kept for listening/viewing use only and need not be disposed. All terms and conditions laid out in this agreement regarding unauthorized use of resources and materials, including but not limited to their reproduction, performance, and so forth, continue to apply. Head to the Heart journals that have been purchased by the License Holder from Faith Inkubators may be kept for personal use and future referral and need not be disposed. All terms and conditions laid out in this agreement regarding unauthorized use of resources and materials, including but not limited to their reproduction, performance, and so forth, continue to apply. COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT If Annual License epires or is terminated by either the License Holder or Faith Inkubators, the License Holder agrees to cease use of the Licensed Resources or any component thereof. License Holder understands and agrees that use of any Licensed Resources past the epiration or termination of the license or without payment of the license fee is copyright infringement and a violation of copyright and intellectual property laws. The License Holder further understands and agrees that violation of the terms of this license shows disregard for those individuals and organizations that faithfully abide by the terms of the agreement.
