He is RisenBy: Bishop Joel Peebles As a result of Adam s sin in the Garden, we were all born in sin, and doomed to be eternally separated from God. But God loved us, and He had a plan.

3 He is RisenBy: Bishop Joel Peebles As a result of Adam s sin in the Garden, we were all born in sin, and doomed to be eternally separated from God. But God loved us, and He had a plan. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) In the Old Testament people offered lambs as sacrifice for their sins. But God offered His only begotten Son Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. Jesus, out of love for us and obedience to the Father, suffered for our sakes, taking our infirmities and weaknesses on the cross. He became sin for us, and took the punishment that we deserved. He made the ultimate sacrifice and died in our place, so that we may no longer be separated from a loving God but have eternal life with Him. In eternal life there is no death, sickness, evil, enemy or sin. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, We have turned, each one, to his own way; But the LORD has caused the wickedness of us all [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing] To fall on Him [instead of us]. ( Isaiah 53:5-6 AMP) But that s not the end of the story. When Jesus died, the devil thought he had the victory. But on the third day Jesus rose again, and before He did He took the keys to death and hell, the penalty of sin. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. (Rev. 1:18) He defeated the enemy, death and the grave, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, making intercession before the Father on our behalf. All we have to do to receive His sacrifice as our own is confess with our mouths that He is the Lord and believe in our hearts that He rose from the dead. Only then are we saved. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God s one and only Son. (John 3:16-18 NIV) But that s still not the end of the story. Very soon Jesus will return and establish His Kingdom throughout all the earth. Then, those who have not accepted Him will be forced to acknowledge Him as Lord. And we who believe and are saved will rule with Him thoughout all eternity. Hallelujah! He is risen! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
