As the Pastor, I am excited about the opportunity God has given each of us to be actively involved in the present and future growth of our church!

Over the last few years, we have examined several options on how to grow this ministry. Our charge comes from Nehemiah 2:18 Let us rise up and build.

PROVERBS 22:28 CRANBERRY BAPTIST CHURCH QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER SUMMER 2012 As our church continues to grow, it is necessary that we move forward on expanding our church facilities. As the Pastor, I am excited about the opportunity God has given each of us to be actively involved in the present and future growth of our church! The mission of our church is to Evangelize the lost, to Edify the body of Christ and to Exhibit God s presence in our community! Over the last few years, we have examined several options on how to grow this ministry. Our charge comes from Nehemiah 2:18 Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work! To undertake this challenge and the expenses of the construction for new buildings and remodeling, we are expanding in phases. The first phase will immediately solve some structural problems and allow us to add sufficient space for nurseries, pre-school classrooms, a choir room and a new kitchen. This 7,500 square foot addition will cost approximately $1.6 million and will give us an option to expand the present auditorium for an additional $400,000. To fund this project, we have implemented a Capital Stewardship Program. In addition to the teams preparing for our Stewardship Banquet on August 26, 2012, we will also be ministering to our people. I am especially excited about the Ministry Visitation Team as they will be visiting every family within the church. The Prayer Vigil Team is also very critical as these folks will be leading us in a church-wide 24 hour prayer vigil. I am confident with the opportunities this campaign offers our church, that our people will be strengthened through this project. Let me ask each of you to pray about a special gift over and above your regular giving for the next 36 months. Everyone will not be able to give equally, but we can all give sacrificially. Therefore, we have adopted as the theme of our campaign Equal Sacrifice, Not Equal Giving. Please join me in praying for our campaign, this expansion project and the continual growth of our church! Because of these trials, difficulties, and pressures, many children, teens, and adults will turn to the world for gratification.

Our theme this summer is The Choices of a Champion. Our children will explore the different choices of Biblical characters and what made them champions of the Lord. Now is the time for you to live for Christ! Youth Congress is a meeting of delegates from around the country to help strengthen your Christian life. (For more information about these events, please call the church office at ) The bus ministry is all about the Great Commission of winning souls, baptizing converts, and making disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Often times, we may not know or realize what is going on in a child s life as he sits in our classroom Sunday after Sunday. He may be experiencing arguments at home, parents divorcing, bullying at school, or even worse. Every child has to deal with some kind of pressure no matter what age they may be. Because of these trials, difficulties, and pressures, many children, teens, and adults will turn to the world for gratification. Some may abuse drugs and alcohol as a way to escape from their problems. The Bible says in Psalms 71:17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. I am thankful for the fact that there is hope with God if we will trust Him and allow Him to show us the way. Each week we visit the bus children and their families, we are attempting to salvage a young person from making these hurtful decisions before it is too late. What a blessing it is to think of the countless young lives that were changed because of a faithful Sunday School teacher or bus worker! Pray for the Bus Ministry as there is always a great need for more laborers. Ty Thomas

Olivia has come through all of the classes in Master Club s and has worked diligently in each level. We are so proud of you Olivia!

It is always a bit emotional for the workers in Master Club s when we have a sixth grader move on into the teen group. This year we have a few sixth graders who are moving on to the Teen department. The World Missions Ministry of Cranberry Baptist Church To preach the gospel in the regions beyond II Corinthians 10:16 Our annual March for Missions was very encouraging to all of our church family!

The goal of March for Missions is to not only remind us of the ongoing need to support missions, but also to give our church the opportunity to get to know our missionaries.

I appreciate the members of the church who faithfully pray for our missionaries and consistently give to missions though Faith Promise giving!

Every dollar you give earmarked Faith Promise goes directly to the support of the missionary.

5 The World Missions Ministry of Cranberry Baptist Church To preach the gospel in the regions beyond II Corinthians 10:16 Our annual March for Missions was very encouraging to all of our church family! It was a blessing to have a total of 10 of our missionaries to visit with us throughout our missions month! The goal of March for Missions is to not only remind us of the ongoing need to support missions, but also to give our church the opportunity to get to know our missionaries. We are so grateful for all of our missionaries and their dedication to the Lord s work! I appreciate the members of the church who faithfully pray for our missionaries and consistently give to missions though Faith Promise giving! As I understand the Bible, the Great Commission is given to the church. Therefore, the missions program should be scripturally funded though the local church. Every dollar you give earmarked Faith Promise goes directly to the support of the missionary. For the last 22 years as pastor of Cranberry, we have also allocated 10% of tithe for extra expense for missions work. This would include the missionary speaker s expenses for travel, lodging, food, and an honorarium when visiting our church. This tithing allocation also allows us to support special mission projects, missionary trips, and Christian College Scholarships. Again, Faith Promise is designated giving and is solely used for individual support of our missionaries. I am very pleased that our church is involved in the Great Commission and we are excited about what the Lord is doing here in our Jerusalem and to the Regions Beyond! It is a joy to be the sending church for two of our missionaries! Shane Davis grew up here in Cranberry. He and his wife, Kristy, along with their family have been serving the Lord in Alberta, Canada for the last 6 years! This past spring, the Davis family was able to visit with us for a brief time during the home-going of Shane s grandmother, Gladys Davis. I am hoping that we can plan a Faithful Men s mission trip to Alberta in the fall of Please pray for the church plant in Hinton, Alberta and the possibility of this trip. The Kruchkow family is also sent out from our church through BATA missions for the printing ministry. Jeff and his family have been faithful members at Cranberry for 9 years and are now planning to go to Mongolia, partnering with First Bible in the printing ministry to this region of the world. The Kruchkows are currently on deputation and hope to be on the field by the fall of We have mixed emotions on this move, but we support the call of God on Jeff s life. Please for this family! We praise the Lord for the Faith Promise commitments from our membership for the next 12 months. This amount allows us to continue to support our current missionary family and to add one additional missionary this year. Let me express my appreciation to our church family on your support of missions! NEW PARTNERS IN GOD S GREAT WORK We are excited that the Lord has allowed us to partner with Chase and Joy Whitten as they take the Gospel message to England. Chase, a native of Jumping Branch, WV, had the opportunity to spend the spring semester of 2011 at The Crown College United Kingdom, where he received hands-on experience. More than gaining experience in serving on a foreign field, he received a burden from the Lord to reach the more than 12 million school-aged children who are growing up knowing nothing of God. Joy has a teaching degree from The Crown College and has been teaching for eight years. For several of those years, she served with Pastor Jonathan Comer at the Lewisburg Baptist Church and the Lewisburg Baptist Academy. The Lord has prepared both Chase and Joy for this work to which He has called them! CHURCH PLANT UPDATE The Lord called Nathan and Sheila Snode to plant a church in Cranberry Township, PA (north of Pittsburg). Pastor Snode hosted church groups from several states to help with Saturation Saturday outreach in March and April. A group of Cranberry teens and adults traveled to Cranberry Township on Saturday, March 24 to do our part to help this new church plant. Energetic teens filled the streets of this growing community, inviting people to Lifeway Baptist Church. The first service for Lifeway was April 22. God blessed in a great way with 73 in attendance, with 44 from the community. How exciting to see the Lord working in this infant church! Please continue to pray for the Snode family and this church. However, a few weeks ago, after the Wednesday service, Neil asked if we could meet on Thursday for coffee.

Neil was raised in a traditional Mennonite family, however being religious did not spare him from the clutches of sin and despair.

In looking back over the last years, I have begun to realize that God's will for my life (and any person's life) is not a location, but rather it is living in the conscious presence of Christ everyday. Charlotte, her husband, and their 3 year old daughter have been attending the morning services for over a year now. Her in-laws also regularly attend, as well. Kristy and I have had many opportunities to share the gospel, or parts of it, with Charlotte. As a visiting preacher filled the pulpit on Easter Sunday morning, Charlotte finally realized her need of Christ as Saviour, and trusted Him by faith for her eternal salvation! Her exact words were, "as soon as the lakes thaw out and warm up!" The Word of God remains true, "I have planted, Apollos watered: but God gave the increase. From time to time I have the chance to sit down and have coffee with one of the men from the church. Most generally I am the one that will arrange these meetings. However, a few weeks ago, after the Wednesday service, Neil asked if we could meet on Thursday for coffee. The next evening, as we set in the local Tim Horton's, he asked question after question about baptism. Neil was raised in a traditional Mennonite family, however being religious did not spare him from the clutches of sin and despair. For the last 10 months he has listened to the Bible messages during the services. I know the LORD is dealing with him. Please pray that his eyes will be opened to the Lord Jesus Christ and his need of Him. There is much in his heart and mind that must be "un-taught"... it is only the work that the Holy Spirit can do. We thank you for your continued support and prayers. Without your help, our family could not be here doing the work of the Lord. Thank you. God has allowed us to be in 13 churches, traveling 4,500 miles. We are doing all of this to make churches and Christians aware of the fact that Mongolia and the surrounding countries need Gods Word! Of the billion and a half people in this region, it is estimated that 95% of them have never seen one page of God s Word! We have a two-fold goal over the next seventeen months raise our much needed monthly missionary support (we are currently at 50%) and raise a million dollars for a building in Mongolia! This is a large task but we have a large God. Mark 10:27 says, And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. God has placed a burden in our hearts to see God s Word Kruchkow Family Update printed and distributed to this region of Asia. We have embarked on the journey of raising a million dollars for Mongolia! Please keep us in your prayers as we are spending much time filling our schedule for this year and the one to come. The only way we will see these goals met is to stay busy on the phones and on the road presenting Mongolia to anyone who will listen. Psalm 2:8 says, Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. We are asking! Will you Pray with us? (Taken from the April Prayer Support Update) Preaching the Gospel is the means that God uses to save the lost and it has been a tremendous month in seeing God save souls in our ministry. There were a total of 32 people that made professions of faith this month. from Missionary Tim Carte We saw 13 people pray to receive Christ through our soulwinning efforts while going door-to-door in Pomona and Brisas del Sur. We also started three preaching areas in houses of people that are attending services. Please continue to pray that the Lord will send us to those that have had their hearts opened to receive the Gospel. I had the privilege of participating in a funeral of a Christian lady that attended our services. Her death affected a lot of people because of the large number in her family. This lady s grandmother was a Wayuu Indian and about 50 Wayuu stayed in the back yard and refused to attend the service while around 30 others listened to the music and message. I preached the promises of God from John 14 and gave a clear presentation of the Gospel. Two days later, two family members called for help and have prayed to receive Christ. Help us pray for souls to be saved during our evangelistic efforts in June. Evangelist Mike Pellitier will assist us in several efforts in Maracaibo.
