T T T Preservice Song 10:15am My Lighthouse Opening Hymn 940 Holy God, We Praise Thy Name (1 3) Opening Litany In the name of the Father, and of the T Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. In today s Old Testament reading, the prophet Isaiah sees the LORD seated in the temple with six-winged seraphim flying about Him singing, Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts. And Isaiah was filled with fear and awe. Isaiah recognized his utter sinfulness compared to God s holy righteousness. In repentant faith, we join Isaiah to say, Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips, and I therefore deserve to be condemned forever. O Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner. The angel touched Isaiah s lips with a burning coal and said, Your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for. In His infinite mercy, so has the Lord taken away your sin as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed your sin from you. In today s Gospel reading, we hear of Peter s unsuccessful fishing venture. He said to Jesus, Master, we toiled all night and took nothing!

2 Upon following the Word of the Lord to let down their nets once more, and at the catching of so many fish that the nets were breaking, Peter was filled with fear. Peter knew that God was standing next to him in his boat. Jesus said to Peter, Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men. Peter was relieved in hearing, and honored to be participating in catching men. Lord, why am I so slow to speak of your name to others? You have committed to me the care of my neighbor s soul. Why do I fail to correct my friend for a particular sin which is harming his faith? Why am I lax in praying for my neighbor s salvation? Am I afraid to say something because I know my own sin is also great? Is my desire for my friend s favor more important than my concern for my friend s faith? If my friend dies a physical death, I mourn, even though physical death brings no ultimate harm to a godly person, but rather provides a transition to the heavenly kingdom. If my friend dies a spiritual death by committing grave sins, do I watch my friend die without concern? My friend stumbles on a stone and I quickly prevent the fall or help my friend get up. If my friend stumbles on Christ the Cornerstone of our salvation (Psalm 118:22), do I show careless neglect? The truth is, by failing to help a friend out of sin, it is the same as participating in it. Lord, forgive me! Lord, strengthen me! Lord, let me live out my faith by what I do and by what I say! The Lord forgives you! The Lord made you a part of His kingdom! The Lord has called you to be fishers of men! Introit O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me! My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of Your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge. With the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD I will come; I will remind them of Your righteousness, Yours alone. O God, from my youth You have taught me, and I still proclaim Your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim Your might to another generation, Your power to all those to come.

O Lord, keep Your family the Church continually in the true faith that, relying on the hope of Your heavenly grace, we may ever be defended by Your mighty power; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts! 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth and said: Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for. 8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I! Send me. 9 And he said, Go, and say to this people: Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive. 10 Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed. 11 Then I said, How long, O Lord? And he said: Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without people, and the land is a desolate waste, 12 and the LORD removes people far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land. 13 And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains when it is felled. The holy seed is its stump.

But at your word I will let down the nets. 6 And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking. 7 They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9 For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish that they had taken, 10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Motions St. Paul Church Annual Meeting, January 27, 2019, 1:00pm M/S/C A motion was made, seconded and carried to accept the secretary s minutes as printed. M/S/C Ron Klosterman made a motion and Bob Buettner seconded and it carried to approve all the uncontested nominees for three year terms ending in 2022, with the exception of Chairman Elect, which is a two year term. Tom Sundstrom was added for chairman elect, and John Jacobs, Cheri Weier, and Bill Uelman were taken off the ballot. M/S/C A motion was then made to close nominations. M/S/C A motion was made by John Brodhagen, seconded by Tom Zernicke and carried to approve Pastor Timothy Shoup as St. Paul, Bonduel s pastoral voter and Tim Rank as St. Paul, Bonduel s lay voter for the LCMS Presidential election to be held on June 22 25, This is a three year term for the synod president. M/S/C Ron Klosterman made a motion, Amy Schmidt seconded and the motion carried to approve the total of $7,512 to be made in quarterly payments for St. Paul, Bonduel s WRLHS Association annual membership dues. ($4 per baptized member) M/S/C Michele Rank made a motion; John Brodhagen seconded and the motion carried for the Endowment requests of $1,000 for the summer 2018 TEC 21 conference and $1,000 for the Church Work Scholarship Fund.
