COME TO BIBLE STUDY ON TUESDAY NIGHTS! We re excited to resume our weekday Bible Study in the book of Romans. We re going back to our old meeting night of Tuesday nights to better fit in John s Trail Life schedule. 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall don t miss these great times of digging into the word together as John Carey leads us! SUNDAY MAY 11 We are gathering at the church and will be celebrating Mother s Day. SUNDAY MAY 25 We will be celebrating a time of church fellowship immediately after our worship service. SUNDAY MAY 25 Come help us dig into the details of planning our Vacation Bible School after we eat and fellowship at the Family Gathering. ANNIVERSARIES, BIRTHDAYS & MEETINGS TAKE THE NEXT STEP Sunday May 18 th we will be hosting our next quarterly Membership 101 Class, for those interested in joining the church. This is simply a time to hear what becoming a member looks like and to ask questions you might have. We will be providing lunch, childcare and resources for this class that takes about 90 minutes. We would ask folks who are planning to come to please RSVP by the 11 th to Matt so we can be prepared with Lunch, childcare and resources. 1

Plan now to bring a gift at any time this month by using the mission envelopes in the pew racks to support this worthy mission to help spread the gospel around the world. Please remember if you would like your gift to be reflected on your annual giving report for taxes purposes please be sure to write your name on the outside of your mission envelope. 3 PRAYER REQUESTS... Please take a moment of your time this week to lift these prayer requests up to the Lord. Pray for Bobby Shumaker and Winnie Lane who are residents at Goodwill Home. Pray for the following folks who are experiencing health challenges: Donna Burton, Sandy Gregory, Hailey House, William Livengood. Pray for those who are spiritual lost & going down a wrong path. Pray for wisdom and opportunities for those looking for work. Pray for wisdom, healing and restoration of broken marriages. Pray for our soldiers who continue to defend our country both at home and abroad. Pray for all those in positions of authority that they would seek the wisdom of God in all matters so that we might live in a peaceful, quiet, godly and dignified way. 4 SUNDAY BIBLE STUDY... The 9:00am Sunday Bible Study class will be using a series of videos from Ligonier Ministries called Dust to Glory. These fifty-seven 23-minute messages on DVD will systematically take us through the entire Bible (Genesis-Revelation). With over 21 Hours of teaching total, plan now to join Dr. R.C. Sproul on a unique study tour as he explores the major themes, events, and people that are brought to life in the Bible. Dust to Glory provides a panorama of biblical truth and a starting point to help you understand the content of the Bible. Dust to Glory can energize your study of the Bible, provide you with new insights, and improve your ability to read, understand, and apply Scripture to your life. As George teaches through each video, our plan is to roughly break each video in half to allow more discussion and application of what we ve watched. So each video will take about 2 weeks to cover. 5 ORCHARD UPDATE... The Orchard is what we call our Sunday morning discipleship classes for elementary aged children. Our curriculum (The Answers Bible Curriculum) is a fullfeatured, chronological, 3-year Sunday school program. Its 156 lessons are synchronized across each of our age groups. Each group covers Genesis through Revelation and learns the same material but at different levels of depth empowering exciting and easy discussion for the entire family! The kids are dismissed to go downstairs for The Orchard after the kids message (aprox.10:45am) until the end of the service (aprox.11:55am). Get to know some of the great heroes of the faith from across Christian history through this animated DVD collection! The Torchlighters series portrays the true stories of individuals who faced danger and trials to carry a flame of faith into a dark world. These award-winning, action-packed programs will challenge and inspire children to live lives of faith. Children will learn about: William Booth, founder of The Salvation Army Amy Carmichael, missionary to India Jim Elliot, who took the Gospel to Indians in Ecuador Eric Liddell, Olympian and missionary to China Gladys Aylward, who led 100 orphans 100 miles to safety Richard Wurmbrand, founder of The Voice of the Martyrs John Bunyan, author of The Pilgrim s Progress William Tyndale, Bible translator Perpetua, early church martyr and others! 6 YOUTH GROUPS UPDATE... We want to encourage our students in 6-12 th grade to consider joining in with the Adult Bible Study on Sunday mornings at 9:00am with George Yoder as the leader/teacher. Matt is also looking to do some special activities with our teens this spring and summer which we will call Wretched. Stay tuned for more info on Wretched (for teens) and Wired (for elementary kids). Guys of all ages are invited to become a part of our Trail Life program! Trail Life is a new scouting program with the biblical direction to Walk Worthy at its core. Our new troop is up and running with a great group of guys meeting and working on their program. Please contact one of the following to get connected!
