1 Join us each quarter as we come together as a church to go beyond our four walls to impact our neighborhoods for Jesus! Our first Neighborhood Watch community outreach will include a time of prayer in our Community. From beginning to end, the call to pray is commanded in scripture and not something to be abandoned. Praying for the mission of God in our cities is one of the beautiful ways we join God in His renewal and redemption of our city. Let us be people who are marked not just by lives on mission in the everyday, but people who intercede daily and earnestly on behalf of our cities. Join us for 1 hour on Saturday, February 9-10 am as we lace up our bootstraps to take on our city to pray. Please choose one of the city locations below or a public location of your choice. For the city of Rancho we will have one of our volunteers at a designated area to meet you. Together we will cover our city, our schools, churches, and local city governance in prayer.

4 PRAYER TOPICS The Homeless The homeless rate in Rancho Cucamonga is surprising, with 1,600 homeless youth alone. The homeless of our city come from many different walks of life and each one is fighting his/her own battle. Meeting the practical needs of the homeless is crucial, and so is cultivating compassion toward them. The best way we can be moved toward compassion is to pray for the homeless. : Provision of shelter and food, job opportunities, freedom from addiction, healing from sickness, restoration of families, community and support, peace, that Christians would grow in compassion. Scriptures to pray: Deuteronomy 15:7-11, Isaiah 55:1-3, Luke 12:22-34, Colossians 3:12-17 Foster Care In California there are over 55,000 children in the foster care system. These children have been placed in foster homes for a variety of reasons: neglect, parental substance abuse, physical or sexual abuse, abandonment, and more. Children who age out of the foster care system face the very real possibility of ending up homeless or trafficked. : Good and loving foster parents, healthy reunification of families, wisdom for case workers and judges, holistic healing for the children, community and support for the children, protection of their bodies, minds, and hearts. 5 Law Enforcement The men and women in law enforcement face danger and experience hard realities each day. They are charged with protecting the public, upholding the law, and they carry the weight of making life-altering decisions in a split second. They carry the lives of others and each other in their hands and hearts every day. : Daily protection of their bodies and minds, true justice and peace, wisdom and discernment, an end to corruption, preservation of the families of law enforcement officers. Scriptures to pray: Psalm 16:8-11, Psalm 91:5-13, Isaiah 55:7, Romans 8:12 Sanctity of Life Annually in California alone there are over 150,000 abortions. Over the years, abortion has killed millions of innocent babies and left mothers and fathers devastated. Pregnant mothers need the body of Christ to rally around them and show hospitality, care, support, and sacrificial love. No human life is a burden, and the sanctity of life extends beyond the womb. There is infinite value in the lives of the incarcerated, the impoverished, the sick, and everyone whom Christ loves. : A fresh wave of compassion toward life, courage and peace for pregnant mothers, quality of life for all, laborers to rise up and minister to those contemplating abortion. 6 Local government Our local governments often get overlooked, especially when national politics and elections take center stage. Our mayors, city managers, council people, and others work hard to keep our neighborhoods, schools, and public places safe. They create programs to help the poor and disadvantaged of our communities. They work hard for our communities and often go unnoticed and un-thanked. Wisdom and discernment in all decisions, hope and encouragement, perseverance, protection over their families and loved ones. Scriptures to pray: Psalm 138:12-16, Proverbs 11:14, Isaiah 9:6-7 Schools We send our children to school each day trusting that they will be watched over and equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to flourish. Today s children are tomorrow s leaders and are an irreplaceable and precious part of the body of Christ. Their experiences in school shape them in powerful ways and we want only the best for them. Good and trustworthy teachers, protection for the children, an end to abuse and bullying, provision for students in poverty, healthy relationships between students. 7 Generation Z Generation Z is the group of young people born right around the time of key political, social, and economic changes (think Columbine, 9/11, and later). This generation s upbringing is the most different we have seen in generations tech at their fingertips from a young age and depraved ideologies influencing them from all directions. These young ones are ultimately in pursuit of acceptance and inclusivity. When they understand that they are accepted by Christ they are unstoppable in dedicating themselves to including others in the message of the gospel. An end to loneliness and isolation, a deep love for God s truth, Godly mentors and friends, discipleship and guidance, that the older generations would believe in them, protection of their minds, bodies, and hearts. Scriptures to pray: Joel 2:28-29, Matthew 19:13-15, Ephesians 1:12-23, 1 Peter 2:9-10 Millennials Millennials are bold, unwavering, passionate, and are ultimately in pursuit of truth. They want to figure out how to marry the truth with their passions and purpose. When Millennials come into a relationship with Christ, it is almost effortless for them to understand how to use their unique gifts for the Kingdom of God. Many people criticize Millennials for their perceived faults, but through Christ, the uniqueness of this generation can show the world a beautiful reflection of Jesus. True purpose that glorifies God, discipleship, an end to loneliness, Godly mentors, humility, passion for the gospel of Christ, unity between Millennials and the generations before them. 8 Veterans Our veterans experience things we could only imagine, both on the battlefield and after they return home. Countless veterans face deep loneliness, depression, PTSD, and many other challenges as they transition back to civilian life. They are often met here with too few resources to help them and not enough people who fully understand what they ve been through. Peace and healing of mind, physical healing, financial provision, healthy coping mechanisms, community and support systems, hope, joy, strength, comfort. Scriptures to pray: Psalm 91, Psalm 121, Ephesians 6:10-18 Seniors Our seniors make up a special and irreplaceable part of our families and communities, with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors being strong pillars in the lives of so many. As medicine advances and health consciousness rises, the senior population is projected to grow three times as fast as the general population over the next decades. Unfortunately, seniors are sometimes overlooked, mistreated, and seen as burdens. It is undeniable that they have wisdom and experience that we would all do well to learn from. Health, financial provision, compassion from loved ones, opportunities for their wisdom to be received, comfort. Scriptures to pray: Psalm 71:17-21, Psalm 91:14-16, Psalm 128

9 Local churches Churches all over Southern California are doing Kingdom work and spreading the message of Jesus Christ to the broken world around us. It is vital for churches to champion one another and celebrate each other s successes. Each church has a different sphere of influence, different areas of expertise, and different strategies to reveal Christ s love to their neighbors. These differences come together to create a beautiful mosaic, and when one church wins, we all win. Unity and maturity within each congregation, unity and collaboration between different churches, that the true gospel would be preached, leaders with integrity to rise up, reliance on the Holy Spirit, rest and peace for the pastors and leaders. Scriptures to pray: 1 Corinthians 1:10, Ephesians 4:1-6, Colossians 3:12-17, Colossians 4:2-6, 1 Thessalonians 5:12-16 Sick Sickness takes many forms and impacts not only the individual but a person s loved ones as well. Whether someone is suffering from a debilitating disease, cancer, depression, or another sickness, the toll it takes can be physical and emotional. As much as friends and families want to be there for their loved one, it can be hard to care for someone who is sick. Jesus is a healer and a comforter, and is able and willing to give strength to the sick and to those entrusted with their care. Quality of life for the sick, provision for medical bills, wisdom for doctors, complete healing, comfort, deep peace, strength, support from friends and family. 10 Other religions/atheists God s desire is for all people to come into a redeeming relationship with Christ. He deeply loves those whose hearts are far from Him, whether they worship a false god or believe in no god at all. There are billions around the world trapped in oppressive, man-made religions, many of whom have never heard the name of Jesus before and would rejoice at the good news of the gospel. Hospitality and love from Christians to all the lost and hurting, missionaries to go out to the nations, a rise in evangelism, God to soften the hearts of those who hate Him. Scriptures to pray: Deuteronomy 4:29-31, Psalm 138:1-5, Isaiah 55:6-13, Matthew 28:18-20, Luke 10:1-3, Believers There is much division in the body of Christ, with Christians dying on the hills of political parties, denominations, and more. In Paul s epistle to the Ephesians he says, There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Let us pray that we would be so united that we would step over lines that previously divided us, and let us take up the challenge to do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:10). Continual growth and maturity in every believer, deep and sacrificial love for God and others, friendship with the Holy Spirit, encouragement and hope for persecuted believers, unity within the body of Christ. 11 Neglected, Abused, Forgotten When Jesus walked the earth, he ministered to the neglected, abused, forgotten, and outcasts. The trend continues today for us to overlook the very people who Jesus would have stopped and spent time with. Christ said, Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Let us be the vessels God uses to pour out His comfort. Complete provision for those in need, deep compassion from the body of believers, refugees and those seeking asylum, the persecuted church, the suffering. Scriptures to pray: Psalm 34, Psalm 138:6-8, Psalm 145:14-19, Matthew 5:3-12, Matthew 11:28-30 Human trafficking Thousands of children girls and boys are kidnapped, lured, or sold into the sex slave industry every single day. These children have their innocence robbed from them and spend the rest of their lives dealing with the mental and emotional repercussions of human trafficking. The healing touch of Christ is powerful and loving enough to mend the little minds, bodies, and hearts exposed to such evil. The men and women who buy and sell children for sex are deeply broken and hurting and they are desperate for a life-changing, loving encounter with Jesus too. And end to the demand that makes sex trafficking possible, protection for children, true justice, consequences for traffickers, healing for the children. 12 Suicide The loss of one life through suicide is one too many. Those who take their own lives do so in the midst of battling much darkness. Suicide afflicts every age bracket, race, and socioeconomic group. Families and communities are left devastated after the suicide of a loved one. Let us remind ourselves and each other that Jesus is the life, the resurrection, Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, Good Shepherd, the light of the world, and Immanuel God with us. There is hope in Christ, and God s love can penetrate the most hopeless and afflicted heart. Holistic healing for those who feel their situation is hopeless, courage to ask for help, peace within families, an end to bullying, compassion and sensitivity from loved ones, encounters with the Holy Spirit for those who are considering suicide. Scriptures to pray: Matthew 11:28-30, Isaiah 55:12-13, Philippians 4:4-8 Families God refers to the body of believers as a family, so it is no surprise that our earthly families are of great importance in God s eyes and to His Kingdom. Families come in many forms with multiple generations, distant relatives, and even friends living under the same roof caring for one another. The enemy attacks family units, but God s will is for families to be united in love. Healthy marriages, good relationships between siblings, discipleship within families, comfort and wisdom for single parents, hospitality toward those who don t have a family, strength and comfort for suffering families, compassion for hard-to-love family members.
