Color and read one page per day from December 1st thru the 24th. Advent Blooms- In Advent we help people to see God s love. Look at the picture of the plant. The flowers on this cactus plant bloom during Advent. Color the leaves green. 4 Advent Light- Color the stained-glass window. Cut it out and hang it on an inside window pane at home. When you look at it, remember Jesus is our light. We can prepare to celebrate Christmas by letting his light shine through us. Candle of Hope Crafts first-school.ws Advent Wreath catholicmom.com Advent Wreath Craft- No burn, construction paper wreath that is made with your child's handprints. (You can also add a white construction paper candle in the middle of the wreath. Do not cut out a hole in the center of the paper plate so you can glue the white construction paper candle in the middle.) *Tip: I have my students use a toilet paper roll to wrap violet, rose, and white construction paper around it to make uniformed sized candles. Students tape the construction paper with clear tape and slip the paper off. Attach to paper plate using a glue gun. crayola.com Advent Wreath Placemat- Students can use this placemat as they count down the days. The Catholic Toolbox 2011 Printable Advent Chain- Print out pattern on colored paper. Have students cut into strips. Build your paper chain stapling the strips with a stapler in the correct order. Each day you tear off a piece of the chain that corresponds to the date and do the activity. Before you know it, it will be Christmas day! Page 1- Print out on violet paper. Page 2- Print out on rose paper. Page 3- Print out on white paper.

(Example: Angel, shepherds, baby, Jesus, Mary, Joseph, Lord, afraid, magi, gifts, star, manger, warned, candle, wreath, etc.). christiancrafters.com Bible Tic Tac Toe- Use Advent trivia questions to play this game (scroll down near bottom of page). Hangman- (Players try to solve the Advent mystery word). The teacher picks an Advent word that is written on a piece of paper out of a bowl. The teacher then starts the hangman game by writing a blank line for each letter in the word. Teacher then picks someone to guess a letter. (Write on the chalkboard the letters that were guessed that were not in the mystery word). If a letter is guess correctly, it is written in the appropriate blank(s) and that person who guessed correctly gets another turn. They can guess another letter or guess the mystery word. If the person is incorrect, another player gets a turn. Whoever guessed the mystery word gets to pick an Advent word out of the bowl and start the hangman game. Preparation Station- This game will help your kids understand what it means to prepare their hearts, minds, and lives for Jesus coming during Advent season.
