1 31st Sunday in OT Cycle A From the Heart Lamentations 3:17-26, 1 Corinthians 15:51-57, John 12:23-26 So often WE PRIESTS CALLED OUT from the world by God and sent to you the faithful, we address you with MESSAGES. Sometimes perhaps even often we criticize and challenge believers whether it s from this place or from other AMBO s throughout the world, but today the situation is very different It is we PRIESTS WHO ARE BEING SUMMONED BY THE LIVING WORD OF GOD through the Prophet Malachi and the words of Jesus as expressed in the Divine Liturgy. In our readings, GOD'S FINGER and HIS VOICE are directed to ALL priests who ve ever dared ascend the Altar of the Lord. To we who have FREELY CHOSEN to take up the duty of fearlessly bearing witness to God by PROCLAIMING HIS DEEDS in Jesus Christ That having been said, all priests, myself included, we all have and will continue to have MUCH TO ANSWER FOR when it comes to the current state of WHY things are the way they are in A : A) THIS PROVINCE: with a current Government attacking the CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT of Catholic Education. B) IN THIS NATION with its promotion of Libertine Lifestyles without morals. C) And C, THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE WORLD as we now stand on the Brink Of Nuclear War and the annihilation of billions of people As is made evidently clear this day, as far as God is concerned, a GOOD PART OF THE BLAME for where humanity finds itself today lies directly on top of the shoulders of the WEAK WITNESS to Truth currently exemplified by HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Catholic Priests worldwide. "And now, O priests, this COMMAND IS FOR YOU. If you will not listen, if you will not lay it to heart to GIVE GLORY TO MY NAME, I will send a curse on you and I will curse your blessings! For you have turned aside from the way. You have caused many to stumble BY YOUR INSTRUCTIONS and you have corrupted the Covenant " Why has this happened??? Because it's not easy for priests. We who often find ourselves in many situations when we re STRUGGLING about HOW TO PRONOUNCE THE TRUTH at a time when NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR THE TRUTH!!! How to speak about RIGHT THINGS when people's EYES, EARS, and the PLEASURES OF THE BODY are turned Towards Luxuries, Latest Trends, Commodities, Alternate Lifestyles and all those things that wet the appetite for SIN. It s not easy in this CIVILIZATION OF LIES BUT GOD IS CALLING US TO PREACH!!! He s NOT calling us TO REMAIN SILENT regardless of what it ll cost us here on earth. Pray for Catholic Priests to be set a fire with the same Spirit that once consumed the prophet Jeremiah when he, for a moment, chose Silence over TRUTH. I said to myself: I will not think about him and I will speak his name no more. But then it became A FIRE BURNING IN MY HEART, imprisoned within my bones (Jeremiah 20:9) Pray for priests to remember the words of He whom they stand IN the Person OF : Whoever loves their life in this world WILL LOSE IT! Whoever hates their life in this world for my sake, will keep it for Eternal Life." (John 12:25) Aristotle once said: There's only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing."

2 And that's NOT what's about to happen before your very eyes! Ours is a time when we all need to return to the basics of that which our Faith in Jesus Christ DEMANDS. We must return to God through PRAYER, PENANCE, and FASTING. In days of old, when a Prophet cried out: "THE DAY OF THE LORD IS AT HAND! When the alarm sounded upon the Holy Mountain of God, the PEOPLE TREMBLED because they new that within the Chaos of their times, the Lord was at hand We call ourselves BELIEVERS? Well then we better start recognizing and reacting to the Chaotic Events that are happening around us! Why is it that we re not even SHOCKED anymore? It s because we've gotten used to Catastrophes, Perversions, Evil, Murder, and Wars and so we remain indifferent to what's happening. We no longer TREMBLE Priests and laity alike no longer tremble before God because everyone is looking for that which gives security and decadence in a modern world. And so it comes to pass that when a Government Leader decides to publicly proclaim that: Married male Catholics don t require consent before sexual intercourse with their spouse. What do we do as Catholics? Do we just kind of remain indifferent to THAT??? To TREMBLE before God doesn t mean to be afraid it means A FEARFUL RESPECT before GOD by way of asking ourselves in prayer: "What will happen to me? What will happen to my soul? What will happen to my Eternal Life?" That's what it means to TREMBLE before God and that's EXACTLY what's missing today. Contemplate what happened in Poland but just a few weeks ago, the event was called: "ROSARY AT THE BORDERS." Nearly 1 million Catholics made their way to over 4000 Prayer Zones and they prayed the ROSARY FROM THE HEART asking for our Blessed Mother's Intercession with Her Son. Begging the Queen of Peace to present their prayers before the King of Kings so that God might save their country and save the whole world. That's what it looks like when people of Faith TREMBLE BEFORE GOD Today, the world and even at times the Church wants to SILENCE PRIESTS, they want to silence Prophets who speak the TRUTH! And their false rhetoric is enhanced by Modern Day Puppet Preachers that proclaim ideologies that are not in accordance with God. They say: Orthodox Religion has to be silenced! Right from wrong has to be silenced! The family as God created it to be has to be silenced!" And that's not what it should be like It is they who are spreading Evil, Sin, Chaos and Disorder that need to BE SILENCED! All forms of media that promote Mortal Sin need to BE SILENCED! All who prolong ideologies that are directly against the Rules of God: and that includes Politicians that are building up Towers of Babel, Golden Calves, and bringing in Trojan Horses that speak of a New World Order, they need to BE SILENCED! For ALL that is not of the Spirit of God, is of the Spirit of the World, the Flesh, and the Evil One. And these voices of Legion they who are many MUST be silenced Not PRIESTS and all those who PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL TRUTH. Not those who struggle to DEFEND LIFE from the moment of Conception to Natural Death, and not those who PRESERVE THE FAITH. Only by naming the DEMONS can they then be properly exorcised and SILENCED in the name of Jesus Christ!

3 My brothers and sisters, for whatever reason, we have forgotten about CONVERSION OF LIFE and PEACE. We have to put these two things at the very center of our lives and go forward into the future with God by our side! Pray with the Heart, live a life of Penance and Fasting, foster a STRONG FAITH in your families, TEACH A MESSAGE OF LOVE, Forgiveness, and Eternal Life in the Eucharist. Go to MONTHLY CONFESSION and spread Hope in our world!!! The Holy Spirit is with us and He wants to become that FIRE BURNING IN OUR BONES, fire flowing through our veins as He did through life witness of the early church. Brothers and sisters, you are the LIVING CHURCH and so, if you are strong, the Church will be strong as well. But if you are weak, the Church will be weak. FOR YOU ARE THE LIVING CHURCH!!! Edmund Burke once said: "The only thing necessary for evil to succeed is that GOOD MEN DO NOTHING!" What a GREAT SEGUE to that which I am honored to NOW pronounce before you on behalf of all seven Alberta Bishops That which you are about to hear IS BEING PROCLAIMED at every Mass this weekend, by every priest, from every ambo throughout the entire province of Alberta
