1 Chapter 1 : List of fictional Antichrists - Wikipedia This is a classic study (part of a seven-volume Names of God series) that examines more than names of Christ. It was originally published in, but it has been revised for today's reader. Hassid works in communications and is considered one of the top computer experts alive. His service to the Tribulation Force is to confound communications, tip off the Trib Force and arrange for some goods to be "mislaid" and end up in the hands of the Tribulation saints. Hassid and Blod clash, but eventually, Hassid realizes he must get along with Blod or risk discipline and possible exposure as a Tribulation saint; also, it is not very Christ-like to be promoting enmity. David at some point during this time vomits on Carpathia during a meeting. Ben-Judah was commissioned by the Israeli government three years before the Rapture to undertake a study as to how the Jews would recognize the Messiah when he comes. Ben-Judah was beginning to conclude that Jesus of Nazareth met the descriptions of prophecy, but had not committed himself when Christ raptured His church. Two weeks later, when United Nations secretary-general and Antichrist Nicolae Carpathia and a host of American and Israeli delegates arrived in Israel to sign a seven-year treaty of peace, and at the behest of Buck Williams, Ben-Judah guided Buck Kirk Cameron to the Western Wall so that he could speak with the two prophets, Eli and Moishe, men resurrected from Biblical times to bear witness to Christ and begin converting, Jews to become witnesses for Him. Ben-Judah went away from the meeting with much to think and pray about. The next day, Carpathia and the Israelis signed the peace treaty, and shortly after that, Ben-Judah made a one-hour broadcast on GNN International to present his findings. At the end of it, he proclaimed that Jesus was the Messiah and was coming again soon. Many Israelites and Jews worldwide were outraged at Ben-Judah, but he began to teach and meet with Jews all around the world, as more and more began to convert to Christ. Eighteen months later, his wife and teenage stepchildren were horribly slaughtered and Ben-Judah, the chief suspect, was forced into hiding. Buck was guided to him with hints from the two witnesses at the Wailing Wall, and secretly conducted Ben-Judah out of Israel by way of Egypt, to be flown back to the United States for exile and sanctuary. Bombs hit the hospital that he was admitted in for over-seas bug that stopped his worldwide encouragement of "Tribulation Saints". Ben-Judah essentially took his place to teach, now reaching out to a worldwide cyber-audience. The Dragon was cast down to Earth near the end of this experience. He moves to Petra where Nicolae Carpathia drops two bombs and a missile just minutes after his arrival. There he resides until the Battle of Armageddon, when he leaves to help defend the Holy City. There, both he and Buck Williams are killed by Unity Army soldiers. He is resurrected at the Glorious Appearing, after having reunited with his wife and children in Heaven. He was described as a very traditional Roman Catholic at this time, although he rapidly embraced dramatic changes to the faith after the Rapture. Calling himself Supreme Pontiff and Pontifex Maximus, Mathews became the leader of Enigma Babylon, adopted the name Peter the Second, and considered the new faith organization to be at least as important as the Global Community and himself an equal of Supreme Potentate and Antichrist Nicolae Carpathia. Mathews is later assassinatedâ stabbed with icicles from an ice sculptureâ by the ten "kings" that Carpathia had appointed to lead the world under his rule. Moon is given the title though it has no real meaning at this point in the story, and takes the Mark of the Beast in Desecration when Carpathia comes to Israel to declare himself God in the Temple of God. Walter is shot for a minor infraction by Nicolae himself, during the curse of the boils inflicted upon the earth by God, during the second half of the Tribulation. She met David Hassid when he passed out from sun-stroke while looking for Annie Christopher. She and Leah also serves as a nurse during Operation Eagle. After a feud by with David, she goes with Rayford, Mac, and Leah Rose to the city of Petra to investigate a disturbance. She is grief-stricken to find that David was killed by two MIA GC soldiers, and has a hand in killing both men so as to keep Petra safe for the Remnant to move in. She goes back to the US and stays with a co-op flyer and his wife till she moves to Petra with Leah, where she helps tend the wounded with her medical expertise. She is one of the Tribulation Force members still alive at the Glorious Appearing. Within two weeks of the Rapture, Plank accepts a post as press secretary for rising international political leader Nicolae Carpathia, and nominates Buck to take his place as senior editor. He Page 1

2 disappears for several years, presumably lost in the bombing of New York City by the Global Community but blamed on American militia forces. Plank resurfaces shortly after the midpoint of the Tribulation, using the alias Pinkerton Stephens, and a believer in Christ. He is badly disfigured and wears a prosthetic to hide the fact that most of his face is missing as a result of injuries caused by the Wrath of the Lamb earthquake. Though he is hideously disfigured, the seal of the believer is visible on his forehead. He says that he had already been convinced before the earthquake, and that he "was praying the prayer as the building came down. After agonizing in prayer, Plank surrenders himself to the GC, refusing to take the mark. Even while choosing to place his head on the guillotine at the loyalty mark processing center, Plank uses wit and disarming cooperation as he is positioned for execution, bantering good-naturedly with his executioners, and trading quips about the stand-in executioner owing him a favour for assisting in operating the guillotine. He is introduced in Armageddon shortly after Chloe Steele Williams disappears. He is very military-like, and refers to men that he speaks with as "Sirs," which he eventually quits doing after Cameron "Buck" Williams tells him enough times. He acquired his name from a snowmobile accident in Minnesota before the Rapture when he hit some razor wire and should have died. He leads a band of about four men and a woman at the safe house. By that point, they had assumed the worst and knew she had been captured. Once a commercial airline pilot, Ritz was sacked because he was too much of a stickler for safety. He went into charter business, and by the time of the Rapture, he owned a small fleet of aircraft based at Chicago-area airports. Ritz is badly injured in the Wrath of the Lamb earthquake, when an airplane wing hits the back of his head. However, given the urgency of the circumstances, he flies Buck to Minneapolis to rescue Chloe Steele Williams before she is taken by Global Community operatives to be used as a bargaining chip. On arrival at the safe house to begin the flight to Denver, he shows that he has become a believer. He is resurrected in Glorious Appearing with the other martyred saints. Leah and Rayford Steele clash as they stumble at trying to work together, their personalities colliding. Ming helps Leah avoid suspicion and incarceration, and Leah returns to Illinois. She helps out at Operation Eagle as a nurse, and then goes to live with a co-op pilot and his wife when the Chicago safe house is compromised. She and Hannah Palemoon move to Petra and help run the hospital there. She is among the few believers left alive when Jesus Christ returns to earth. Chaim Rosenzweig[ edit ] Israeli botanist and statesman, discoverer of a formula that made Israeli desert bloom, former Global Weekly Man of the Year; murderer of Carpathia ; leader of the million-plus Jewish remnant at Petra; witness to the Glorious Appearing; now residing near the Valley of Jehoshaphat. He faked a stroke, got a wheelchair, and hid a hand-filed blade in the handle. Chaim later became a believer, and led the Jewish Remnant at Petra under the alias "Micah" made from the letters of his original name. In the Left Behind films, he is portrayed by Colin Fox. Together they have two children, Chloe and Raymie. After becoming a born-again Christian, Irene becomes desperate for her family to have the same salvation she has. Through the counseling of her friend Jackie, Irene tries to turn the rest of her family towards Christ, but to no avail. Rayford becomes more and more distant over the years, and Irene suspects he is having an affair. Chloe leaves home to go to college, having never let go of her "show me" attitude. Just as Irene is at the height of her desperation, the Rapture occurs. Irene and Raymie are among the countless millions of believers who are taken up into the House of God, where the Bema Seat Judgment takes place. At first, Irene is nervous when her works are tested by the fire because of her short time as a Christian, but her efforts are ultimately praised by Jesus. After the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, Irene and the rest of the raptured saints wait and enjoy life in Heaven. On Earth, the cosmic battle of the ages takes place as the Tribulation ravages the planet. Irene returns with the heavenly hosts at the Glorious Appearing of Christ, reuniting with her husband, her daughter, and her young grandson, Kenny Bruce Williams. In Kingdom Come, Irene and her husband lead a missionary trip to Egypt, where they lead many to salvation during the Millennial Kingdom. She is present at the final battle at the end of the Millennium where Christ overthrows evil once and for all and welcomes all believers into the Kingdom of Heaven for eternity. His daughter Chloe also became a believer, and he has a grandson Kenny Bruce; he lost his second wife Amanda in a plane crash; original member of the Tribulation Force; wanted for supposedly murdering Nicolae Carpathia; witness to the Glorious Appearing; now residing near the Valley of Jehoshaphat. He was portrayed in the films by Brad Johnson. In the film Left Behind, he is portrayed by Page 2

3 Nicolas Cage. He was raptured, along with his mother, when Jesus returned before the Tribulation. Throughout the Left Behind Series, he frequently comes to the mind of Rayfordâ who was left behind due to his unbelief. He is also the best friend of Ryan Daley. In Kingdom Come, he works in Jerusalem with his older sister, Chloe, who was executed during the Tribulation for her belief, and her husband, Buck Williams, who also died during the Tribulation during the final battle in Jerusalem. During the Millennial Kingdom, Chloe and Buck are in charge of a massive childcare center, whose speaking guests include Noah and King David. Dishelved with the death of a fellow co-worker at the age of one-hundred, Raymie founds the Millennium Force, a small group dedicated to sharing the Word of God with the undecideds during the Millennial Kingdom. When his nephew, Kenny Bruce Williams, attempts to infiltrate a Luciferian organization called The Other Light, Raymie becomes worried by the level of the devotion the "mole" is showing. He later kicks Kenny out of the Force after evidence surfaces that indicates that Kenny has "switched sides. He, like other believers, is welcomed into Paradise at the end of both the Millennium and time itself. As he had a Glorified Body, he never aged, while his nephew did and became older. As her son Nicolae comes of age, Stonagal becomes one of his mentors, financing his rise in the corporate world. At his first meeting as United Nations Secretary-General at the end of Left Behind Book 1, Carpathia executes Stonagal with a revolver, believing that his usefulness has expired. Carpathia then brainwashes everyone in the room except Williams, who was protected by God into believing that Stonagal shot himself and Todd-Cothran in remorse for the assassinations. Eleazar Tiberias[ edit ] Eleazer Tiberias is one of the elders at Petra, who helps Micah aka Chaim Rosenzweig run the operations of the city of the remnant. Eleazar is one of the, evangelical converts in the book. Naomi Tiberias[ edit ] Naomi Tiberias is the teenage daughter of Eleazar Tiberias, one of the elders at Petra, who help Micah aka Chaim Rosenzweig run the operations of the city of the remnant. Naomi is one of the "techies" in Petra, and assists Chang Wong in setting up technology within Petra. After helping rescue Chang from New Babylon they become very close, but decide to postpone marriage until the Millennium Kingdom. She and her father take in single women and families after the return of Christ. So influential, in fact, that award-winning journalist Cameron "Buck" Williams believes he is responsible for having many professional acquaintances liquidated. Carpathia then brainwashes everyone in the room except Buck, who was protected by God into believing that it was Stonagal who shot himself and Todd-Cothran in remorse for the assassinations. She was a former Global Community employee working at Buffer who is a believer. She was formerly married but left a widow during the early years of the Tribulation. She joined the Tribulation Force in "The Mark", escaping Buffer when the "mark of loyalty" was being tested out on prisoners. Page 3

4 Chapter 2 : NAMES OF JESUS CHRIST SERIES FRAME Names of Christ follows Names of God in a classic trilogy designed to help contemporary Christians better understand the glory, majesty, and power of the triune God. Product Identifiers ISBN Name in Motion Have the class stand in a circle facing into the circle. Ask each student to come up with a motion that they think describes them. For example, a child who plays basketball may mimic a jump shot while someone who loves to read can pantomime holding a book. After everyone has had a chance to think up their own motion, go around the circle and have each student say their name while doing their motion. Once everyone has shown their move, play a game. For the first round, have the student to your right start with their name and motion. The student to their right must first say the name and do the motion of the person to their left, and then they do their name and motion. Then the next person repeats the name and motion of the person to their right before doing their own, and so on until everyone has had a turn. For the second round, as you go around the circle, each student must repeat the name and motion of everyone who has gone before them, in the correct order. See if you can make it all around the circle, and switch the order of the circle up a few times to keep it interesting. Today class, we are starting a new study about the names and titles of God. God goes by a lot of different names and titles in the Bible. God has a lot of names and titles in the Bible! My name is Mrs. You all know that! But did you know not everyone calls me Mrs. What do you think my son calls me? Allow students to answer. My husband calls me wife, and my brother calls me his sister. We can sometimes go by different names to different people. We can even have nicknames. James can go by Jim or Jamie, and Amelia can go by Amy. If possible, use examples of nicknames from your own class. What are some other names you may go by? You may be called friend, cousin, sister, brother, grandchild, student, or son or daughter. Well we know about names, but what do we know about titles? What is a title? A title is a descriptive name given to a piece of art, like a book or a song or a painting. A title tells us a little bit about the book, song or artwork. What is the title of your favorite book? As students answer, discuss how the title tells you a little about the book. You all have great tastes in books! So forms of art have titles, and did you know that people also can have titles? Sometimes you call me teacher. We call our pastor, Pastor Smith. So throughout this study, we will learn that God has many names and titles he goes by. All of these names and titles help us understand more about Him. Knowing God is the absolute most important thing we could ever do in life. But none of that matters unless you know God and follow his commands in the Bible. Take all bookmarks and fingers out of your Bible and hold them above your head. When I say go, look up John Read, or have a student read, John We should boast in His name, and we should not take his name in vain. Some of these verses talk about how we are supposed to treat the name of God and some verses talk about how we are not supposed to treat the name of God. As I pass them out, I will read them out loud. After everyone has a Bible verse card, I want you to sort yourselves into two groups: Read each card before handing it to a student. Depending on the size of your class, you may not use all the cards. In that case, be sure to pass out a fairly equal number of positive and negative cards. If you have more students than cards, kids can team up or you can pass out multiple cards of the same verse. After passing out each card, allow the class a few minutes to sort themselves into groups, then spend some time discussing each verse. Following is a list of the verses included in the Bible verse card section. After you have discussed each verse with the class and deemed that they have correctly sorted themselves, collect the cards and have the students sit for the conclusion of the lesson. The LORD will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name. I am the LORD. Great job sorting yourselves into groups! We show God that we love and respect him when we praise him, turn to his name for safety, trust in his name, and call on his name for salvation. Make a list on the board of ways to show God that we respect his name. Have the class add to the list if time allows. As we go through the next several weeks learning some of the better known names of God, I want you to keep Psalm 9: This will be our memory verse for this unit of study. We can trust that God is with us as we work to learn some of His names and titles. Before we close in prayer and move on to our craft, I have one more verse to leave you with. I have called you by name; you are mine. He knows everything about us and, my friends, he loves us very, very much. He loves us so much that he sent his Page 4

5 only and only son, Jesus, to live a perfect life and to die on the cross for us, to save us from our sins. Name Art This is a simple project that yields varying and beautiful results. Students will create a piece of art using their name. Have each child write their name in all caps with a black marker on a sheet of white paper. The name must take up the entire page, from top to bottom and from side to side. All letters must also touch or overlap slightly. The goal is to make enclosed compartments or shapes to draw in using the letters of their names. You may need to help some students with writing their names so it takes up the whole page properly. Some students may need to use a pencil to write their names before going over it in black marker, while other students may do better if they use the black marker on the first go and then must work with what they have from the first try. You know what will work best for your class. After everyone has written their names, use colored pencils or crayons to fill in the spaces made by the touching letters with colors and patterns. List two or three "bitter" experiences you have endured recently. The common way to approach a difficulty or stress in our life is the same way that the Isrealites approached their stress, Exodus Also see Job 2: How do you usually approach difficulty that seems cruel to you? Please note that the solution to this problem of bitter water was not one from the mind of Moses. It was rather from the Lord Himself. The tree made the difference in the taste of the water. When we think of the many bitter experiences of life, what tree has made a difference? God says in the last part of the verse, " I the Lord Am Your Healer. The name Jehovah-Rapha is a name that speaks to us and our need today. We live in a stressful world and society. Every day new problems confront us and we bend under the load of seemingly unsolvable problems. How can Jehovah-Rapha bring healing to a sick world. List some of the ways you already know that make this a reality for you. Now look up the following verses and see if you can add anything to your list of practical ways to handle bitterness. Remember that God lives in eternity, and we in time. We are often in a hurry. God is never in a hurry. But the bitterness in our life will someday be made sweet. We have that promise. And what is the factor that makes a difference in the life of a child of God as compared with one who has not chosen the Savior? What difference is this going to make in your life? The Lord Our Banner Exodus What were the circumstances involved in the revealing of this name to Israel? The Amalekites were a perpetual sore in the side of Israel. In this story, what parallel can you draw to contemporary Christian life concerning these people? To what in the Christian life can they be compared? What led to victory for Israel over the Amalekites? What do these verses add to your thinking? The victory of Israel obviously depended upon Moses continually standing before God and not being weary in his praying. What in the story suggested that prayer was involved? This name has to do with warfare. Our Father is willing to wage warfare on our behalf. One area of great battle has to do with our carnal nature. List areas involving your carnal nature that are the most difficult for you to deal with. The Lord Our Banner desires to give us victory. Read Romans 8 and learn of the victory that is ours over our carnal nature. Life Application Read through your journal and review your experiences. See how Jehovah has met your needs and how He lives up to all of your expectations.
