1 'The Silver Cord' - how Spirit passes to flesh to heal the physical body by Ann Windsor, New Life School of Pneumatology annwindsorbibleschool.org I have been meditating for a few days on my upcoming postings on how God's Medicine works in our bodies. In the night last night I was meditating on it again and the Holy Spirit said to me: "by the Silver Cord". WOW - there are worlds of wisdom in those four words. Something for you to think on. (It comes from Ecclesiastes 12, KJV) Please don't regard any metaphysical definitions of the words, 'silver cord' if you look up anything about it. This isn't metaphysical... Ecclesiastes was long before metaphysics As we get into our topic of the 'silver cord', please consider this verse from the Weymouth translation and ask yourself this question: "Why? Why is the body dead without the spirit?" "For just as a human body without a spirit is lifeless..." (James 2:26, Weymouth translation) And then ask: "How is it possible for spirit to animate flesh?" "The Silver Cord", Pt. 1 "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, before the silver cord be loosed..." Ecclesiastes 12:1&6 James 2:26: "the body without a spirit is lifeless." James 2:26/Weymouth translation. Divine Healing - supernatural healing, how does it 'pass' through the veil to bring healing to the mortal body? One is supernatural substance. The other is natural substance.

2 We have had some good comments posted previously on this topic, all true: The mortal body is like a space suit in which the spirit lives. The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us and quickens our mortal body, Romans 8:11. The silver cord is like an umbilical cord. ******* This series is to help remove roadblocks that make receiving healing difficult by unpacking the 'how' that the 'veil' is penetrated. Let's start by thinking how it is that a spirit animates or gives life to the mortal body. This is even in a person who isn't saved and still has a sinful nature. God created us a spirit. There is a life force (bios it is called in the Greek) that God imparted to the human spirit when He placed it into the human body. Built into this was the CAPABILITY of the spirit to cross the line between spirit and flesh in order to give natural human life to the body molded from the dust of the earth. That is because the spirit is superior to the body in the order of creation. (The body WITHOUT THE SPIRIT is dead. This shows the superiority of the human spirit over the material body in which it lives.) Let's think of Genesis 1: 'the earth was without form and void, darkness was upon the face of the deep and the Spirit of God brooded upon the waters. And God said: "Let there be Light! And there was Light!". Genesis the first few verses I have used for healing many times. I made myself a poster that I put up on my door: "REMEMBER, A SPIRIT CREATED EVERYTHING YOU SEE." I retrained my mind to think in line with the truth that SPIRIT CREATED MATERIAL. First was the Holy Spirit - a spirit and out of Him came the material universe and everything that was in it, including my body. "Brooded upon the waters"... I see in my mind's eye: The Holy Spirit brooding upon the face of the deep, and when God said: "Let there be light!", a great umbilical cord went out from the Spirit of God and over it flowed the power that brought forth light, began bringing order out of chaos/darkness. So MATERIAL SUBSTANCE IS CREATED OR RESTORED BY THE ACTION OF SPIRIT UPON SUBSTANCE. You must see how 'natural' this 'supernatural' operation is. With what ease the Holy Spirit crosses the veil from the supernatural to the natural.

3 WITH WHAT EASE THE HOLY SPIRIT CROSSES THE VEIL FROM THE SUPERNATURAL TO THE NATURAL. He didn't fight; He did struggle. He released the 'Greater One' and it was done! Remember, God revealed His Word to the children of Israel but His WAYS to Moses. If you are born again with the Spirit indwelling, you are able to know the things of God. Jesus said: "As my friends, I reveal to you what I do." You may think, "Why is it necessary to go into all this?" God wants you to be healed and stay that way by understanding HIS OPERATIONS so you can intelligently live and move and have your being IN HIM. Satan's influence in your life becomes less and less, as your mind is filled with understanding God's WAYS. When you know HOW God accomplishes His mighty acts, then the mind doesn't fight the operations of God's Spirit, even in the face of what appears impossible in the natural. A God Who is a spirit, that can create material substance from nothing, has not diminished in His creative and restorative ability when it comes to YOUR PHYSICAL SUBSTANCE. If you have suffered setbacks or roadblocks in receiving healing and are struggling, I beg of you to lay the physical healing aside for the time being, the struggle, and concentrate on the 'how's'. You will find encouragement once again and a building up in your inner man. Total victory over sickness and disease isn't achieved through prayer alone. For it to be lasting, mind renewal is essential. Step out of your body in your consciousness and look back at your body and say: "spirit is greater than you. A Spirit created you. A Spirit can heal you. A Spirit is your parent and made all the parts of you." Your outward man must be seen as the patient and your inward man (spirit and soul) as the doctor ministering to it, finding the way to bring and restore healing. And remember, with the Spirit's indwelling, THE DOCTOR WITH ALL THE ANSWERS IS IN THE HOUSE! Hallelujah! Glory to God, the Doctor LIVES IN ME! We are BUILDING A HOUSE OF WELLNESS...line upon line, precept upon precept. Please think on these things. I am taking you down the path of what I have learned that has enabled me to live a life of wellness. God is brooding with His Creative Power:

4 "The Silver Cord", Pt. 2 How easy is it for the spiritual world to invade the material world? As I was thinking of other ways to shows the ease of connection that there is between the two worlds, the Holy Spirit said to me: "Did Jesus pass through the wall of this natural world in His resurrection body? Was it easy? Yes it was. And it is just that easy for God to penetrate your body with His Spirit for healing or whatever else you may need. Another example that came to my mind: "Jesus ate a piece of fish." Natural, material substance (of this mortal creation) passed into the immortal when it crossed the veil into the body of Jesus. Another: Thomas stuck his hand into Jesus' side and put his finger into the nail prints...a natural, mortal body touching a supernatural immortal body. Jesus body was immortal flesh and bone, but no blood. Another just comes to mind: What about when Jesus appeared to the disciples along the Sea of Galilee, called out to them, cooked them breakfast. What was supernatural looked so natural that the disciples couldn't tell the difference until after the miracle catch of fishes. Then Peter said: "It is the Lord!" Now think of the two walking along the road to Emmaeus. Jesus came up and attached Himself to them and they had no idea this was an Immortal Person walking along with them, talking with them, expounding Moses to them, until they had communion with Him. Oh Father, my eyes run with tears of intercession that we would all see how freely You want to and have the ability to interact with us even though You are a spirit and live in another dimension. I love You, Father.

5 Some 'Silver Cord' cogitations, (extra post) Have you all wondered how many atoms there are in a blood cell? How many remember from school that the cell is porous, allowing nutrients, etc. to enter and leave it? Porous, porous, porous. God made us materially porous so He could 'pour' into us. (Sorry for that pun, just couldn't help it!) Seriously, even in the way our physical bodies are constructed, God made us so spirit can easily flow through our cells. I receive Your quickening, Holy Spirit. They that wait on the Lord renew their strength, not just internally but outwardly also. Think of Abraham's wife Sarah. At 90, Pharaoh wanted her in his harem. Think of the two of them, Abraham and Sarah when their bodies were dead as far as child bearing. Now THAT IS SOME KIND OF SUPERNATURAL CELL INFUSION IF YOU ASK ME! Smile. Think, think, think with me everyone! Let's take a refresher on osmosis: Some cogitations on the 'Silver Cord' (extra post): I would like for you all to take another little journey with me this morning in the River of Life. We are still talking about the "Silver Cord"/how the Spirit of God crosses the veil between spirit and flesh to minister healing to our bodies.

6 I have been posting how a SPIRIT created matter. Yesterday I posted about OSMOSIS - how God created even the cells of our bodies with penitrable membranes so He could pour His Life into EACH CELL. That is really what healing is. The Life of God PENETRATING the cells of the affected member of the material body. I was looking over the comments that came in when I asked for them a few days ago. Someone mentioned the Incarnation. I have been meditating on that for a few hours. My cogitations to cast before you: "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God. The Word took on flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only-begotten Son, full of grace and truth." Some versions says: "the Word tabernacled among us." I don't particularly like the way the KJV states Vs. 14: the Word BECAME FLESH. No the Word didn't transmute somehow into flesh. He was the Word in a body of flesh. I like to make that clear in my thinking. It will open many insights. Well, back to the Spirit 'passing through' the veil into the flesh. Think about the process that took place when Jesus' body was conceived in Mary's womb. Jesus: The Word Mary's Womb: flesh Spirit & Word entered the flesh and think how the cells began to multiply into a fully formed human body. Spirit quickening, enlivening, multiplying. Easy? Yes. "A body hast Thou prepared me," Hebrews 10:5. It is just as easy for the Spirit of God to do in your body for healing what He did in the flesh womb of Mary in forming a body for Jesus. ACCESS TO THE HUMAN BODY BY THE SPIRIT/spirit IS ONE OF THE MECHANICS GOD SET IN MOTION WHEN HE CREATED US IN GENESIS. It is as natural as breathing to God. I hope you are beginning to think about/realize how EASY it is for God to act on your body even though He is a spirit. I will get back to the 'Silver Cord' itself in the next post.

7 I could not find a graphic for the Spirit hovering over Mary and the Word conceiving in her womb, this is the best illustration I could find and the comment that goes with it: All language falls short of reality, but when we try to describe the mystery of the Incarnation, words fails utterly. It is a mystery so great angels still... The Word taking on flesh: "The Silver Cord", thoughts prior to Pt. 3 Have you considered your belly button? Have you considered Jesus statement: "Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water? Have you ever asked why the button is in the belly, not your head, your big toe, your mouth or nose, ear or finger? I know some of you may be thinking, "This woman is crazy!!!!" Well, bear with me. I like to have fun along the way while considering the things of God. He is exciting. He can get His point across so even children can understand Him. My thoughts certainly can't be considered 'theologic' because I'm not a theologian!!!! I started in ministry teaching children and I guess I've never outgrown that!!! We are skipping through the Garden and picking rich, ripe fruit from our Father's trees of wisdom.

8 "The Silver Cord" - Part 3 or "The Parable of the Belly Button" This series is to help remove roadblocks that make receiving healing difficult by unpacking how the 'veil' between the spiritual realm and the physical realm is crossed/penetrated. When needing healing, the physical demands so much attention and testifies constantly of its condition. This voice is so loud that the physical eyes 'see' the evidence that the body's voice (pain, growths, paralysis) is testifying to. God told Abraham he had to 'lift up his eyes' and look FROM THE PLACE WHERE 'you now stand', TO THE LAND THAT I SHALL GIVE YOU. The eyes of the soul must be taken off the physical evidence and they must 'see' the Cross where healing for the physical body was provided. What is 'seen with the eyes of the soul' that HAS BEEN PROVIDED AT THE CROSS, (physical healing) can then cross the chasm from the Kingdom (spirit) to the physical (natural). "If your eye be single your WHOLE BODY shall be full of light (physical healing)." Can you see it is all about the 'mind's eye'? Jesus used parable to teach great truths. The mustard seed. The sower. The yeast in a measure of flour. Today we are going to illustrate the Silver Cord through a parable: the parable of the belly button. This parable will help your 'mind's eye' to see how healing that was provided through the Work of the Cross to accomplish spiritual realities crosses to become a physical reality for your body. Our base scripture: "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, before the silver cord be loosed." Ecclesiates 12:1&6 "The body without the spirit is lifeless", James 2:26 Weymouth translation.

9 I asked the Lord 'how' healing was received from the Spirit/spirit into the body and He said: "Through the silver cord". Being born again is a purely spiritual transaction. God's Spirit imparting life to your degenerate spirit that had a sinful nature and regenerating you with God's Nature - Zoe. Spirit to spirit impartation. After that the Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. Can you pretend with me that this impartation takes place through your spirit's belly button? I am not going to be dogmatic about the 'how' of this, but just paralleling natural to spirit for clarity in understanding. Does your spirit really have a belly button? Well, if we have a natural one, why wouldn't we have a spiritual one? Just saying. After the New Birth can you see the Holy Spirit like the umbilical cord, connecting you to God and His Life, flowing that Life continually to you (be being filled) with all the nutrients that are in His Nature? Over that connection flow your cares, worries, concerns, needs, thoughts, etc. to God and God's answers, help, leading, encouragement flow back to you. Through that connection flows the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. The Holy Spirit ministering HIMSELF to you. Oh, I love that. THE HOLY SPIRIT MINISTERING HIMSELF TO YOU. What did He do? Raise the BODY of Jesus FROM THE DEAD! He is not diminished in any way in power and the SAME power with which He raised the DEAD BODY OF JESUS, He will HEAL THAT SICK BODY OF YOUR'S. Well, we have seen the Life/Spirit flow from God to your spirit through the Umbilical Cord Who Is the Holy Spirit. Next we are going to look at getting that flow through the umbilical cord, that silver chord that attaches YOUR SPIRIT TO YOUR BODY.

10 Here is a little video (12 min) about the umbilical cord and placenta. I saw many spiritual parallels here. Think of God as the mother part of the placenta. The child as the baby part and the Holy Spirit as the umbilical cord itself. This man is saying that this is the first time the mother and baby GET TO WORK TOGETHER. You will notice that the mother doesn't say, 'No, I'm not going to nourish this baby today because she kicked me!" This is an automatic process. God's taking care of you becomes automatic once you are His child. I would be interested in any comments if you watch it. Meet the Placenta

11 Q. Where does healing flow from? A. From the belly - 'out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water', John 7:38. From the area of your body that your spirit manifests from. "The Silver Cord", Pt. 4 - the Parable of the Belly Button (cont'd) Ecclesiastes 12:6 - the spirit and body are connected by what Scripture calls a 'silver cord'. James 1:26 - the body without the spirit is dead. At death, the cord of life is broken. The spirit separates from the body and the result is physical death. As a baby's body is nourished by a physical umbilical cord from the mother, is it possible that the silver cord of life connects the spirit and the body in the same location...the belly? I believe there is something there somehow. This analogy may be stated as a 'cord' for our limited human understanding and likened to an umbilical cord. Think what happens over that cord? Life. So physical life is sustained by the animation of our physical bodies through the cord of life coming from our spirits. That is natural life. Let's look at spiritual life as we are discussing how healing manifests from the spiritual realm to the physical body. How it crosses that 'veil'. Kenneth Hagin Sr. taught us something very simple but I have practiced it ever since and found it very effective.

12 Thoughts manifest from the head area of your body Emotions manifest from the heart area of your body Spirit manifests from your belly area. Jesus said out of your belly area will flow rivers of living water, not the head (mind) or heart area (emotions). "I will put within you a well of water springing up unto everlasting life." Where does this well spring up from? Notice it says, 'spring up', not 'flow down'. It springs up from your spirit/your belly area. It doesn't flow down from your head or heart area (mind/emotions). Have you noticed when fear hits you, where does it hit you? In the pit of your stomach, your belly area. This is to stop the 'spring' from springing! I find it very provocative that fear - the emotion, hits you in the belly, not the head. "That knocked the wind right out of me!" Think about the implications spiritually of that statement. 'That' being fear. The 'wind' could stand for the Spirit. Fear wants to shut up the Spirit so He can't flow and heal your body. Can you see again the significance of the belly button being where it is, not in your head or your heart area. Life doesn't come from the thoughts or the emotions. It comes from the loins/the belly - even in the natural. Think on these things and practice locating your 'belly', your 'thoughts', your 'emotions'. The Holy Spirit will tap me on the shoulder when I am needing healing in my body and say, 'you aren't digging down deep enough yet'. I know that He means I am trying to tap into healing in my mind (reasoning) or 'feel' healing with my emotions. You can't reason your way into the anointing that heals, or feel your way into it. I have to push the elevator button and go down deeper into my belly, into my 'well of water springing up with everlasting life'; my belly/loin area from which the rivers of living water are flowing. God bless you. Healing is guaranteed through the Redemptive Word. I want to get you connected in your consciousness to what is yours.

13 The mind is the biggest enemy of healing. Reasonings. Imaginations. These principles I am sharing will renew your mind. The mind must work with the spirit in receiving healing. Not present questions, why's and objections. I am a spiritual mechanic and the Lord gave me a 'spirit manual' so I can explain how these things work and make receiving easier for you, not just in the area of healing, but any area you are having problems with. These 'mechanics' practiced will deliver you from any work of the devil. Here is a powerful little video Andrew Wommack just put out, someone posted it on my FB page the other day. Please go over to Youtube and watch it and then the other two parts that will follow it. He will open further the principles I am presenting. They are approx. 5 min. each.

14 Q. How does the Spirit and the Word work together to bring healing to the physical body? A. The Spirit performs the Word you declare. "I watch over My Word to perform it." "The Lord working with them and confirming the Word with signs following." Scriptures regarding physical healing are performed by the Spirit to bring healing, just as Scripture concerning salvation is performed to bring salvation. The Holy Spirit does the Scripture you declare. Just believe the Word you've spoken to have the Holy Spirit perform it. K.I.S.S. Keep it simple saints. "The Silver Cord" - conclusion Your spirit connects to your physical body through what Ecclesiastes 12:6 calls a 'silver cord'. When this cord breaks, death of the physical body occurs. This is a truth even in those who have not been born again. As a born again believer, your new creation is constantly being sustained by Life (Zoe) flowing from God the Holy Spirit into your spirit through a 'silver cord'. God's Spirit connects to your spirit through a spiritual umbilical cord, if you will permit me to keep the spirit-body-cord idea going. Through this the Sustaining God-Life flows into your new creation ALL THE TIME. If God ever stopped the flow of Life to your New Creation, he would cease to exist, just as the body when the spirit leaves it. (I am not making a doctrine out of this 'silver cord' connection, just an illustration for understanding purposes. The Holy Spirit isn't connected to your spirit through some cord, HE INDWELLS YOUR SPIRIT and that is greater than any cord, but some have a difficult time getting even that picture, so the cord illustration can help them begin to understand the inflow of Life that they are LITERALLY receiving. Bear with me in my folly, as Paul would say!) The Life in-flowing to your New Creation: Ezekiel saw that Life as "a fire enfolding itself", Ezekiel 1: Think about the right-now outflow of Life from God through the 'silver cord' of the Holy Spirit sustaining EVERY NEW CREATION in existence. How much energy/life would that be if you could measure it? For a limited understanding of 'how much', let's look at what scientists say is the amount of energy sustaining the universe. "The energy that must be constantly supplied is a staggering X kilowatts per square meter! (In scientific notion that is 10 followed by 117 zeroes, kilowatts per square meter)." That is a number bigger than your mind can comprehend

15 and it is no drain on God to supply it. He does it constantly. "He upholds all things by the Word of His Power", Hebrews 1:3. Now apply that natural fact to the energy that He is constantly supplying to sustain your own spiritual New Creation and every other New Creation presently in existence, in heaven and on earth. This Energy, Life is seething in your spirit - brooding in the same way the Holy Spirit brooded upon the waters in Genesis 1:2. In the beginning of your healing..."god" And the Spirit was brooding - waiting, ready to perform the Word - spoken. "And God said...'let there be, AND THERE WAS'! God is not here to speak the Word to your body. The earth has He given to the children of men...'have dominion over'. How does the Spirit heal your body? At the instructions given Him through the Word YOU speak. God, connected to you by the the Holy Spirit in your spirit - The Holy Spirit acts when He hears the command, "Let there be". God - the Holy Spirit - your spirit - your soul - your mouth - The Word spoken to bring healingthen the performance of that Word by the Spirit manifests in your body. The energy of God IN you (The Holy Spirit) must hear a word to perform. You must speak it. Could we say the Silver Cord connects God - your spirit - your soul - your tongue and then your body? Back to the original answer the Holy Spirit gave me when I asked the question? "How does healing manifest in the body?" And He said: "Through the silver cord". To answer simply after all these going's on I have put you through: through the Silver Cord of the Word, God brings healing to your body as God the Holy Spirit performs the Word you have spoken. Your job: stay connected to the 'Cord'. Proverbs 4: My son, ATTEND to my word, INCLINE YOUR EAR UNTO MY SAYINGS, LET THEM NOT DEPART from your eyes, keep them in the MIDST of your heart (inner being), for they ARE LIFE to those who find them AND HEALTH to ALL THEIR FLESH.

16 The only thing Prov. 4:20-22 leaves out, is KEEP THEM IN YOUR MOUTH TOO! Speak: "Let there be health in my " according to 1 Peter 2:24, (etc). I would like to suggest that you copy and paste this in your computer. Then go through it and every place I typed 'you', change it and put in 'I', 'me', etc. i.e.: "God, connected to me by the Holy Spirit in my spirit. God-the Holy Spirit - my spirit - my soul - my mouth - the Word I speak to loose healing - then the performance of that Word by the Spirit manifests in my body. The energy of God IN me (The Holy Spirit), must hear a Word to perform. I must speak it." Faith comes not from the impersonal pronouns, 'you, yours', but the personal ones, 'I, my, mine'.
