"Bread" was and are symbols of blessings, survival, communion and faithfulness which is very much part of the life of Jewish people.

2 John 6:25-36 (NIV) 25 When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, Rabbi, when did you get here? 26 Jesus answered, Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. 28 Then they asked him, What must we do to do the works God requires?

3 John 6:25-36 (NIV) 29 Jesus answered, The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent. 30 So they asked him, What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? 31 Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat. [a] 32 Jesus said to them, Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.

4 John 6:25-36 (NIV) 33 For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. 34 Sir, they said, always give us this bread. 35 Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe.

5 Bread or the symbolism of bread has appeared many times throughout Bible "Bread" was and are symbols of blessings, survival, communion and faithfulness which is very much part of the life of Jewish people.

6 Bread was represented in the Tabernacle of Moses a) The Holy Place the showbread which are 12 unleavened breads were placed on the table of presence to represent the Word and presence of God. b) In the Holy of Holies, pieces of the Manna were placed inside the ARK to represent the Word that came from Heaven.

7 Bread was what the Prophet Elijah was asking, offered and fed on (a) He asked the woman at Zarephath for bread during the time of famine. (b) God sent his prophet Hamburgers through Ravens.

8 So when Jesus introduced himself as The Bread of Life, the people understood him. The problem wasn t whether they understood him. But whether they can believe HIM!

9 But when they came to the other side, Jesus was moving their attention from their natural needs to a spiritual one! they failed to crossover spiritually...

10 Sometimes we seek the gifts more than we would the Giver of gifts... It is More important that we seek the Person not just the gifts.

11 John 6:35 (NIV) 35 Then Jesus declared, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty

14 John 6:35 (NIV) Whoever comes to me will never go. He satisfies all wants... He is everything you need... He will provide...

23 3) He is our Surety (Manifested Promise)

24 John 6:33 (NIV) For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. John 1:1 (NIV) The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us

25 Jesus manifested in flesh revealed that God is faithful in all His promises and His words can be trusted. He came so we can have surety of a better covenant! Hebrews 7:22 (KJV) By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

26 Surety means guarantor. One that takes the responsibility or liability from the person he or she do it from

27 One of the promises and prophecies in the Old Testament was that Jesus will be born in a small town called Bethlehem. And He did!

28 Beth-lehem comes from two words: Beth as in Beth-el = house of God and Lehem = bread. The Hebrew language is read from right to left, and so Bethlehem is written like this: Bread House

29 What does that mean then? You can rely on Him because He has been faithful to keep all the promises or prophesies made and that is the reason why we can believe in Him! At the same time, in Him there is no lack because there is always enough bread!
